I was sure it is the most beautiful island of the archipelago.....but after I saw Sao Jorge I'm not sure anymore :)))) anyway, they are all great, I also like Graciosa a lot which many don't visit. Tomorrow Santa Maria, the only one I haven't seen yet

The island is not called the blue island because the houses are painted blue. . It is because of the amazing hydrangeas. Lack of information to the actual history of the people of Faial during the volcano in the 50's. There is an amazing whaling factory/museum in Porto Pim. A beautiful Nature area, Morro de Castelo Branco Nature Reserve. Home to nesting seabirds. Formed 30,000 years ago. Also in Castelo Branco is the home of Queijaria O Morrow. A artisanal cheese buttery and soft. The Horta Museum in the old Jesuit college and it history. The Transalantic underwater communication cable during WW2.

Pico is impressive, but not the tallest. It is 48th tallest island peak in the world. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_islands_by_highest_point It ranks highly in the peaks with most "dry prominance" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topographic_prominence#Wet_prominence_and_dry_prominence

Really cool video and awesome footage! The part about the Monte Palace hotel ruins is not really true though, it's not heavily guarded (at least for over a decade now) and at every occasion I was there since 2021 it was a very well visited tourist spot. There were at least 20 other people with me in the building or on the roof, even mothers with little children 😊

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for making this video. We traveled from Las Vegas to the Azores specifically because of this video. Words can't describe how beautiful and amazing Flores Island is. We were blown away by it. The 20 min hike to the falls was tough but it was so worth it. We thought now we know why you was sweating during that hike..lol. By the way Mystic Tours is a great option we used. She did an amazing job of showing us Flores. She was so sweet and nice. Thank you again. It was a trip of a lifetime.
