Hello, just checking to see if you still have any of the #6 for sale. Not sure how to make contact other than here. if you have info please let me know.. interested. thank you.
I do. The information and pricing, which is now discounted, are in the first pinned comment of my other video: ruclips.net/video/ykM-AAjuliY/видео.html In addition to here, I also correspond about these through Private Messaging on the forums Ford Truck Enthusiasts.com or Conversations on Powerstroke.org. Due to the Christmas Tree farm, it can take me a few days to make the kits at this time of year.
If you made another kit i want to buy one could you message me back i have a 03
I will do that.
I’m less than halfway through and I already love this video
2006 f250 I don’t see it
It's a 2003 thing.
The Funnel of a Man 👨 is watching this Stupid Vedios show on You Tube channel 😊❤🎉
What an excellent video. After watching this and some of your others I picked up a 140A 6G and did all the pulley swaps. As noted the small 58mm pulley on the 140A does the trick… Almost….. At the time, Unable to find a reasonable priced 230 Leece (Canadian exchange to usd is terrible) I picked up an alternative to expensive options with a reman 6.4L Denso 200A hairpin and a regulator for a Toyota application with a 14.2V set point knowing the gpcm issues. Allegedly it is good for 230A at 6000rpm. I am in the process of installing the regulator but am having second thoughts on using it due to the terrible quality of the Wilson reman…. Why use a proper screw for the regulator when a short sheet metal screw works……?
Thank you!
Which kits are available now?
I want to purchase version 6. Do you know how I can do that?
I've updated the information in my pinned comment below the description.
Where can I purchase the 6.0 engine lift bracket version 3?
Can I get the plate off in vehicle?
If you mean the rear cover plate, yes, but you have to remove the transmission.
Fantastic video! For a granite surface plate that's commonly used for woodworking planes resurfacing, see "Granite Surface Plate 300231", it is big enough for small engines 18 x 6 x 2 in. I see some people use float glass too, but I would question the flatness of it, it is relatively flat, but I think far less flat than a granite surface plate...
@@ericohman Thanks for posting the suggestion, that’s another good option. I agree, I would not use float glass.
I just waited til the low fuel dash light came on. Then I dropped the tank. Incidentally, there was exactly 7 gals. left which is nice to know if I'm ever in a pinch.
That's good to know for anyone reading your comment. Thanks.
Thanks for your excellent video. After seeing it I went ahead and dropped the tank on my 2006 F350,. Found that the pickup foot had broken off, the vent tubes were very deteriorated, and there was a 3-inch blob of water in the tank. After getting the tank cleaned out and put back together, I ran a 3/8" fuel hose between the two tank vents. I put a tee fitting in the middle of the hose, oriented horizontally and located at a high point right below the bed. To the tee fitting's side branch I attached an ell fitting aimed downward, to help keep water out.
Thanks for your comment. Good proactive move, sir. I'm glad to hear you caught the issue before it caused you a problem.
Super cool video
U saling a kit
I wasn't thinking about doing that. But I could make the adapter fitting for the sensor if enough people ask.
hi does this work on a 2007 5.4 engine/ trans combo?
It should as it's the same transmission.
My dealer had to replace my conditioning module due to corrosion in the heater. A couple days ago, struggling to replace the filter (it took an air impact to get the cap loose-- thanks dealer for tightening it 2 full turns after the rim on the cap contacting the housing and buggering the threads on the cap), I found an extra wire there with the connector taped up. Now I know what it was for.
If only I could get mechanics to leave the impact tools in the toolbox.
Love you videos, taught me alot the last couple months with my first diesel. Alot was to be learned. That build is very nice sir. Im in the middle of one right now. What did you use to wrap your harness?
I generally use one of three: www.amazon.com/Tesas-Advanced-Harness-51036-Mercedes/dp/B016ZMXLEI/ref=sr_1_8?crid=G88HBS68MWCF&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.nGcwXwxfPR4v7ywS32t7VLb3jCF19u8hBp9aIji6CwadB_5zmfP3Yqi9Zsq6WMPSrGZw2ej43gi39O4ye_6t78IpxlKLtv2ZjPZdBD-BWNtIBA8nUnYcz00xuXeDr5V_gOGCATtarBPWcwHW24UeyjXek_TBZCjy5hd9uqsLNZRzzZMcXymeoAxdbaP4t6p_RTDomTp-aEqaYEhvAb_f_JFlfzMyXiN3EgDVuUfOI1Q.Cb7IEQKnpS_16IuqC1zqQILwlhWioHAwQMapCU6KOPc&dib_tag=se&keywords=automotive+harness+tape&qid=1728003170&sprefix=automotive+harness+tape%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-8 The other two are from Polyken, 268 and 277. You have to find those on eBay. If I remember correctly, what you see in the video is the Tesa tape.
When replacing the fuel pump, do you need to prime it until the pump and fuel bowl fills or can you just add diesel to the bowl until it’s full???
Sorry for not seeing your comment earlier. You only need to go key-on three times in a row to achieve prime.
Another awesome video! But man I wish you gave more specifics on the measurements and offsets for those brackets!
My 2003 6.0 is a 6 speed manual, manual transfer case and manual hubs. Bought it new & still have it 21 years later.
I didn't get a manual because I thought there might be an occasion when my wife would need to drive the truck. She will not. A diesel and a manual are a great combo.
Think it's ok to use the XG-12 on spark plug boots?
Yes, it works fine.
You are the man thank you. Please make more 6.0 videos. You're helping people big time
Thanks, Brian. I have a lot on my plate now, but I hope to return tp doing them..

Thank you. It has; I've been overwhelmed in life and haven't returned to making videos.
Can water make it past the HFCM? I had an injector tip split and was told it was caused by water. I keep my maintenance up. I have a deain on the HFCM and never seen any water.
If the filter is not Factory Motorcraft or a Racor (Ford's supplier), most definitely. Today's diesel fuel, compared to when these trucks were designed, is hygroscopic, so the water is not as easy to separate as it was back in 2003 and maybe 5 to ten years later. I usually don't see water lately, either. Sometimes, even the factory design with the Aquablock outer membrane can be overcome, but I believe that with a lot of water in the fuel.
Do you know what gauge size is the wire that goes to the starter 🤔
It's a 2/0.
@@toomanytoys What about the wire coming off the alternator and the battery with the fuse links... I want to replace the ends with a lug that has a 5/16 stud, rather than drilling out the lug. Thank you for spending the time on all this sir.... Thank you
@@MrMr123 For that, you could use either a 4ga or 6ga lug. Suppliers of the lugs tend to have slightly different-sized openings, and Ford wires are also not exactly typical. I've run into this on several platforms.
Ai voice sounds great
I just got a 240 amp Mechman Alternator, would you recommend I add a (-) 2/0 wire between both batteries as well, to go along with the (+).... Just thinking it would help the alternator keep the batteries charged up, I'm going to be running an inverter in the back of the work truck and debating on adding a 3rd battery with a dc to dc charger later on.... So I want my new alternator keeping the trucks batteries topped off all the time. Whats your take? I have a whole spool of 2/0 welding cable
If you have a spool of 2/0, sure, in place of the stock cable, sure. But you don't need it. The battery acceptance rate of a change is at a lower value than it produces for the starter. Individually, for under a minute, they might take up 25-30a if the output is high, but the acceptance charge will rapidly diminish. My video of my L-N 230a charger shows one time when the glow plugs shut down immediately due to a voltage higher than 14.4. You can see the most that two batteries will take up. This is higher than during a typical cold winter start, as I had battery blankets on, keeping the batteries at ~70ºƒ, where they have a higher acceptance rate. ruclips.net/video/Pnr1YmAZS0E/видео.html
Very informative video.
Thank you for your video. My old 6.0 had two plugs on the hfcm. The new has only one. What the second plug is for? What would happen if i don't connect the second plug on the cfcm?
I've not seen an HFCM without at least two plugs: one for the fuel pump and one for the water in the fuel sensor. The early HFCMs had three plugs, the third for the fuel heater, which was a bad idea. So, assuming the one plug is for the fuel pump, without the water in the fuel sensor, you would not get a warning about water buildup. In that case, drain the HFCM with the water drain by removing the water drain plug at every oil change.
Great video
How do I remove the heater hose along the fire wall??
The are two studs on the firewall that retain the hose across the back.
What an amazing tip. I've been cranking wrenches for almost 40 years and never thought of such a simple idea. It just goes to show you never stop learning.
Hello, I am interested in repairing my 2006 Ford 6.0l engine with you, if possible, I need a way to communicate with you.
The best way is to join Powerstroke.org and once a member, you can initiate a private conversation or start a post and get input from everyone. I've rebuilt only one 6.0L, so I may not have all the answers.
I wish the fuel filters weren’t so expensive. Plus there are Chinese made counterfeits all over the internet. Also when you remove the cover you must plug all the fuel lines or the fuel can siphon out of the tank until your tank is empty.
DieselFilterOnline or RockAuto, either Motorcraft or Racor; Racor is the filter manufacturer that sells to Ford. If you are draining fuel from the tank, the anti-siphon valve (blue inside the filter area) is not working.
Awesome video! Thank you for all of the information!
Your welcome.
How come the Racor got thrown out at the end?
Hey I know it’s a older video but I see you torqued the bed plate down 2 different ways. Are both sequences ok to do?
Good catch. One comes from the International manual, and the other from the Ford manual. The Ford manual has you sequence the two next to each other before going to the opposite side, the International goes across sides, back and forth. I've never found an answer for which is the better way.
Very in depth analysis with inventive problem solving makes this video a must watch for anyone tackling the 6.0 fuel tank. Thank you.
Thank you for your compliment.
Excellent detail and information. Do you have a document that shows factory ground locations? Fighting an intermittent no crank situation…
2007 f350 6.0 lariat
My earlier video, which was the basis for this one, goes through all of that: Powerstroke 6.0L Electrical System Negative / Grounding locations ruclips.net/video/QYM-KD5vNWM/видео.html
I proceeded with doing this and I've noticed some fall off at the edges of the cylinder bores and large hole features... Seems like the paper is sagging in the middle or pushing out at the corners where it folds, applying additional pressure to edges. Wondering if you noticed this when doing your block?
First, are you using a hard, flat surface for the paper to ride on? The surface must be free of any give, and the paper should be relatively tight. And the surface has to be as flat as you are trying to achieve. ANY convex or concave bow will cause an issue. The second is technique. You want to keep at or preferably below 50% of the tool from going past the edge of the block, and while going over the edge, put more pressure on the rear that is still over the block. In one video, I mentioned hand sanding vereer plywood being a good teaching tool. If you subconsciously push down in front or "roll over" the edge, you will get more abrasion at the edges. Superduty Service has a video of him using a bodywork air sander, which has a rubber surface between the paper and the bedplate. If you look closely at the block he does, you can see the falloff, the edges, and the cylinder. That is not what you want, and I would also not recommend the technique. I did have one corner of the block that rolled over. I noted it in the video where I used tracing paper to evaluate head-to-block contact. I mentioned it probably where I got lazy in my technique. However, it was the edge of the block, not at the seal around the cylinders, and the gasket would be compliant to make that seal. It's been fine for two years. It was also under 0.0002" fall off, even though the tracing/transfer paper showed it.
Very good video sir, thank you
Thank you!
