      Yes, I love using my scrunchies every night before wrapping my hair with a scarf and bonnet. They make such a difference! They help keep my curls stretched, reduce tangling, and prevent unnecessary friction that can cause breakage. Plus, they’re super gentle on my hair, unlike regular hair ties. Do you get single strand knots?

    • @rosiecurlycrown
      @rosiecurlycrown 2 дня назад

      Oh yes, single strand knots are definitely a thing! 😩 But I’ve found ways to minimize them over time. The biggest game-changers for me have been: ✨ Not wearing my hair out too much-The more my ends are exposed, the more they tangle up on themselves. Low-manipulation styles like twists and keeping my hair in a bun has helped a lot! ✂️ Keeping up with my trims-Regular trims prevent split ends and knots from forming in the first place. I usually trim my hair every six months so twice a year. I do my own trims and I trim my hair in its curly state since I have no desire to blow out/straighten my hair. 💦 Keeping my hair moisturized-Dry hair is more prone to tangling, so I make sure my ends stay hydrated which helps reduce knots significantly. They’re pretty much unavoidable, but with the right routine, you can definitely keep them under control.

    Great video detailing your wng process! A few Qs... 1) Is there any reason you put oil on after the gel and not before to lock in the moisture from the leave-in and cream? 2) How long does it take you to do your wng? 3) What temp do you use to dry your hair under the dryer?

    • @rosiecurlycrown
      @rosiecurlycrown 2 дня назад

      Thank you so much for watching!☺️✨ 1️⃣ Why I apply oil after gel: Applying oil before gel can sometimes interfere with the hold and definition, so I use it at the end to add to seal in all the products and to add softness and shine to my curls. 2️⃣ How long my wash-and-go takes: It usually takes me about 2 hours. I like to work in small sections to ensure my curls are fully coated and defined. 3️⃣ Dryer temperature: I use medium heat because high heat is too intense for me. Medium provides a good balance-it speeds up drying without excessive heat exposure.

    Great video, it didn’t seem like you were brushing your roots - just your mids and ends. Also, it’s great you use a leave in and a cream - gel only wash and goes ate terrible for the hair long term. Look up the No Oils No butters challenge/ black girl curls. Causes so much damage- the basics always work.

    • @rosiecurlycrown
      @rosiecurlycrown 3 дня назад

      You’re absolutely right-I don’t brush all the way to my roots because I prefer to finger detangle in that area. I find that it’s a gentler approach that helps minimize breakage, especially since the roots are the strongest but also the most delicate area to detangle. Before styling, I always make sure to thoroughly detangle my hair during the wash and conditioning process, so by the time I’m applying my styling products, I don’t need to go in with a brush at the roots. Instead, I focus on smoothing and defining the mids and ends where tangles are more common. I love that you brought this up because everyone’s technique is different, and it’s all about finding what works best for your hair! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! 😊✨

      I've been following the Black girl curls regimen for 5 years now and my hair has never been more healthy. I switched to gel only wash and go's and my hair is thriving and more defined than it's ever been. I never stopped the weekly deep condition on my hair though, but I don't think it's fair to say their method causes damage. In my personal opinion

      @@avasd59much respect - I believe the method didn’t work for me - as I removed the deep conditioning and used the AG Shampoo weekly for months, took out the leave in conditioners. Ive been cutting and cutting the damage out. I’m glad you haven’t experienced this - the damage is centralized in my crown - so it’s so hard to find products that work with my hair as it’s damaged. I wish you the best - Keep deep conditioning - very smart! I continue to shampoo weekly and deep condition, but adding in my creams and gels. Now I’m wearing my hair blow out to grow out the damage and cut - it’s less gel and stress for me.

    I used these products last week; they mix well together, but flaked in my hair. I loved my hair though. It lasted for 10 days and I will do it again. Seems like my hair can’t take a lot of product but I need the moisture.

    • @rosiecurlycrown
      @rosiecurlycrown 3 дня назад

      I’m so glad you loved how your hair turned out and that it lasted 10 days! That’s amazing! 💕 As for the flaking, it could be due to product layering or using a bit too much cream before applying the gel. Next time, try using a little less cream to see if that helps prevent flaking while still keeping your hair moisturized. Another tip is to let the leave-in and cream fully absorb into your hair before applying the gel-sometimes layering too quickly can cause buildup, which leads to flaking. Your hair might also love lighter layers of moisture, so you could experiment with just a leave-in and gel to see if that works better for you! Hope this helps, and I love that you’re giving this routine another try! Let me know how it goes! 💖✨Thank you for watching!

    How often do you refresh your hair

    • @rosiecurlycrown
      @rosiecurlycrown 3 дня назад

      Great question! 😊 How often I refresh my hair really depends on the products I used on wash day and how my curls are holding up throughout the week. Typically, I refresh my hair 3 to 4 times a week, but it varies based on how much moisture and hold my products provide. If I use a strong-hold gel, my curls tend to last longer with minimal refreshing. But if I use lighter stylers, I may need to refresh more often to maintain definition and moisture. I always assess my hair daily to see what it needs-sometimes it just needs a little water & lightweight leave-in, and other times I do a more thorough refresh with product reapplication. It’s all about listening to your hair and adjusting your routine as needed! 💕 I hope this helps!

    do you use clarify shampoo every single wash day?

    • @rosiecurlycrown
      @rosiecurlycrown 7 дней назад

      Yes, I do use a clarifying shampoo every wash day! I typically start with one round of clarifying shampoo to thoroughly remove buildup from products and oils. This is super important because buildup can block moisture and nutrients from penetrating the hair, which can lead to dryness and reduced manageability over time. After clarifying, I always follow up with a moisturizing shampoo for the second round of cleansing. This ensures that my hair stays clean but also hydrated, as the moisturizing shampoo helps replenish any moisture lost during the clarifying process. I’ve found this two-step approach really keeps my hair and scalp balanced, allowing my products to work effectively and keeping my hair healthy and thriving.
