I have 23 years of military service and I was wondering why we still had to pay the 10 or $20,000. I’m so glad I found you because now I know I don’t have to. It would be $1500 to come into the country and retire there so thank you so so much that makes life so much easier financially 😂❤😅❤😊
You are most welcome 🙂
i have nine years of military service, last year served in Vietnam. Must I be retired FROM the military? I have ample retirement funds from both the VA and Social Security.
No, retirement from the service is NOT required. A pension and a clean DD214 will give you the best SRRV option. Rules change frequently, so it is best to use an approved PRA Marketer to process your SRRV. I USED Jamss Biron. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck.
Congrats both deserve ❤
is there exeption if below 50 years old ?
Be at least 35 and a visa deposit of $50000 USD. Rules change all the time, so please check with a Marketer for PRA or the one i used James Biron
@ 50kusd only deposit or can withdraw ? if the 50k frozen better to renew tourist visa every 59 days i giess ? what u think ?
@cedricmaltais4673 the 50k can be used to buy a home. Other than that it doesn't make too much monetary sense. I would just do border runs

Thanks for watching our videos. Let me know if you have other questions. Check out our other videos on the channel as well.
hi im 58 planning on retiring at 60 i have a criminal record that is about 30 ago will i be able to get a srrv? im from Canada by the way
Yes, you can get an SRRV visa being from Canada. 1. Are you a veteran? 2. Do you have some sort of monthly pension? As far as your background you will need to consult with an approved Marketer. I would suggest James Biron. His contact info is on my videos.
@@johnandangie2024 no im not a veteran i have canadian pension plus a savings but like i said i have an old criminal record ,,can a still get a srrv
Yes, you can get an SRRV Classic. With a pension of at least $800 and a $10,000 USD deposit. I can not speak to your criminal background. This you will need to ask James Biron or another PRA approved Marketer.
Did anyone attend the PRA ceremony upon final approval
I stayed for a bit. It was nothing, really. Just people standing around talking and there was a little bit of food handed out.
@ Thanks I wanted to travel for Christmas that’s why my questions.
@@johnandangie2024 thanks they called I got my Retirement Visa card and ID card. all went well.
Is the expanded courtesy visa only for military officers or retired military, or for military veterans with a dd214 with a honorable discharge?
It is for all veterans with an honorable discharge noted on the dd214. You will also need a pension of some sort. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching the channel.
Yes i am now 76 got my SSRV courtesy visa. And got married to my Philippine woman after ten years relationship.
I requested and got a copy of my DD214. To get the SRRV do I need to get this document apostilled?
Yes, you will need it apostilled. You will also need your pension apostilled if I remember correctly. Look fo an approved marketer to verify the process as it does change. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching the channel.
@@johnandangie2024 Thanks for the info. I looked for but couldn't find any agency that would apostille DD214s. Do you remember where or how you got your DD214 apostilled?
I used a notary in Newport Beach, California. Try to Google search a notary in your area and call them to see if they offer apostille services....not all do.
The notary actually prepares the apostille to be done at a government office. They will charge for this of course
@@johnandangie2024 I didn't think a notary was the same as an apostille. But if this is all that is needed I should be able to use any notary. Again, thanks for the info.
Rabbits are good eating!
I think your videos would be more helpful if you shared the company name. Why let others get screwed. Spread the information good or bad. Thank you.
Pacific Cross
Marco Polo is getting long of tooth, over 20 yrs old. I first viewed new condos there around 10 yrs ago. The developer is a HK company. Ive been there a few times over the years & can attest to the good maintenance & great amenities. The pool & gum, esp, are top of class. The location, though, way up a hill, is quite a handicap as you have to travel quite a ways for even routine grocery shopping. The 1 BR unit, with no parking, is a non-starter for most. Additionally, the new units look dated, not substantially different from the original units from 2 decades ago. Given the premium price, I think they’re a poor investment.
After living in Cebu for 1 year now, i would agree with your assessment. Thanks for watching, and let us know if there is other content you would like to see.
Good idea with the credit card. You pay all that money for insurance and then they have you pulling teeth to get re imbursed. Hopefully I'll be there in May coming from NYC, do you think PayPal is good enough to access my money?? Any other suggestions?? Thank you and Angie for the information.
Thanks for watching. I use World Remit, Remitly, and Moneygram. Have several lined up before coming so you have options in case one becomes unavailable. Also, bring more than one debit card if you can and more than one credit card for the same reasons. Well, good luck and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
thanks for sharing your experience
WOW 😮 I see Pacific Cross has bad reviews.
Can I get it before I get there.
You can start the process but getting the card and swearing in is done in Manila
@johnandangie2024 Okay, thanks.
2 month advance and 2 month security Almost $2200?
Yes, that is correct.
@@johnandangie2024 Do you have some legal protection if the land lord decide to play games and not return the money?
Make sure your contract states in detail the conditions of returning your deposit. I have gotten my deposit so far from one place and just gave notice at our current place. You can approach a lawyer with the contract if they do not hold up their end. Good luck
Hi, thanks for the informative video 👍👍 Regarding the internet, is it Wi-Fi ? And is it easy to set up Wi-Fi? I've heard that the process of getting Wi-Fi installed in an apartment can be quite complicated with bureaucracy. Is that true?
Hi thank you for watching our video🥰. And yes internet here is called “Wi-fi”. It is easy to set up the internet but it would cost more for foreigners (it could cost 20$-25$ more). PLDT is the most used internet service in the Philippines. 😊
😳
😜
When you die, who gets your deposit?
To the person named in your will, if no will to then to your nearest kin.
Thank you for getting to the point.
Thanks for watching
I am currently 40 years old Can i apply srrv classic for $50000, if yes then what are the requirements. Can i attach 2 children only as dependent for $300 each without spouse
The SRRV program recently changed . Only the Classic and Courtesy are currently available. Both require the applicant to be 50 years old or above. You can look into the Quota visa available. I would go through James Biron for this or another approved PRA Marketer. I, myself, am not familiar with this visa option. I do know, as the name implies, there are only a few issued each year
The renewal fee on 360 usd makes the whole thing a lot less attractive, almost pointless. The only you get is maybe little bit more peace of mind and that is ofc worth something, but when you have to put out 20k that you may not ever see again i think 360usd seem a lot. But i dont qualify anyway for this since im under 50.:/
As changes happen, i will do another video. Good luck to you.
If you start thinking already about money not getting back, if that is your level of trust, then better don't go here anyway.
@@hansreynders6853 Why? Plus there is the process fee, that you will not get back. I do not rule it out, but im more leaning towards doing visa runs when im at that age and if these are the rules then.
@@heww3960 Your "why" indicates you didn't even read my comment. Processing fees are never paid back, wherever you are, that's the normal procedure because a service must be paid for. Visa runs are not a rule. Never been, never will. It's nothing but an opportunity one can implement as a result of the tourist visa rules.
@@hansreynders6853 Yes so why should i not go if i dont have a 100% trust in filipino authorities? That would seriously limit me where i can go if i have to have 100% trust in that countries authorities. I dont have it for my own countries either. I never said that the processing fees would be paid back, or question that at all, ofc it will not. I mention it as another bad thing with these visa, that since you pay so much upfront, both in processing fees and that you put money on their bank. So then you should not have to pay another 360 every year, which is almost as much as the regular tourist visa. I also never said that visa runs was the rule, I said "but im more leaning towards doing visa runs when im at that age and if these are the rules then.". There is no claim in that sentence that the visa runs is the rule. Since you accusing me of not reading, then maybe you should do a better job of reading yourself.
The problem with srrv visa is that you need to be 50 years old or above to apply with $20000. Is there any option where a person can apply if he is 39 years old? if yes then how? Are the rules changing soon and easier or able to apply for people below 50
Younger than 50 can be done, but it will be a bigger deposit. Are you a veteran? Let me check for other options.
@@johnandangie2024 i have seen that you can apply srrv smile visa for $20000 from the age of 35 - 49 as of 2024, is it true is there any other option to apply srrv visa in less deposit if i am 39
I just checked the PRA web site and it appears the SRRV SMILE has been suspended. I would recommend contacting James Biron or the PRA directly for up to date information. James @ contact@bironlaw.com pra.gov.ph/SRRVisa
@@johnandangie2024 Is srrv classic available for 35 + for $50000 as of 2024 and what are the requirements if possible?

$ 50,000 is $1200 canadian a month. thats ridiculous. why even make a vide o of such an overpriced crappy apt,?
You can find cheaper but the building will not offer the nice pool, excellent gym and laundry onsite. The Ayala area is expensive. The video is only representing what the cost is for the area and for a nicer unit

Can you initially come in under a Balikbayan visa through my wife and before the year is up, could or should we apply for a SRRV before the Balikbayan visa runs out? My wife is a former Filipino and I'm retired military.
Before leaving your country, contact Jamea Biron for the SRRV. You will need your DD214 apostilled and whatever else he says you need. Once that is done, you could come over on the Balikbayan visa and implement your SRRV at any time because your paperwork would be ready to go. Its good to have choices. I highly recommend contacting James or another approved PRA Marketer before leaving. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for watching.
John, how much was the consultancy fee for James' assistance? I am beginning the process and the only thing that seems difficult is the apostille for the DD214 and Vewrification of Pay letter.
Ted, when I applied last year James's services were free. He now charges a minimal fee....im not sure how much. It is worth going through a trusted PRA Marketer. My SRRV went very smoothly.
The Marketers are paid by the PRA so his fees should be minimal
@@johnandangie2024 Do you know if the documents that need apostille can be done at the embassy or do they need processed in the US? I will consider hiring James, I'm just not sure if there will be any issues since I live in Davao and he is in Manila. Thanks for all of your helpful info. It is much appreciated.
Ted, so sorry it appears I missed a reply here. Were you able to take care of everything? Did you get all of your questions answered? My email is thetraveler2024@gmail.com if you need direct communication.
One big advantage of the SRRV is that your pension or annuity income is tax free in Philippines.

Hello there. Angie here, as a filipina I observed how it was. YOU also MUST UNDERSTAND that we're not that insensitive. Me and John literally experienced it hundreds of times, whereas every staff member was just standing and just chit-chatting. We wouldn't post/include some clips if we haven't experienced it first hand. Anyways, thanks for helping the algorithm of our youtube channel. 🤪🥰
Yup, FB, YT, TicToc,
Great video. The skits with Angie are, I think, the key to making your channel stand out from all of the others I have seen on RUclips. Your natural playfulness makes them very entertaining and you both are obviously much more comfortable doing that than reading scripts. 😉 And I don't know of a single Philippine couples video where the appearance of the Filipina isn't always the highlight. haha
Thank you so much🥰. For the skits, John was the brains for that😝. We appreciate you for supporting our channel🥰

Hi J&A, just checking out your channel. I've only been to Cebu briefly passing thru. The thing about Marco Pollo for the price the units are like twice as big and nicely appointed BUT it looks like you would have to drive/transportation if you want to go anywhere or do almost anything. Cebu traffic is No Joke... that much I do know about Cebu. Your thoughts... would you personally invest there? Peace and Love, B Goat
Good morning Billy, John here. For me, I would rent. The units have no storage, are a bit far from shopping as you stated, and typically condo buildings are not well maintained here in the Philippines. 10 years down the road, your investment may not look the same
In addition, they seem overpriced for the area. If i were to buy, I think BGC in Manila is a better value or Rockwell Center Makati.
