EASY Railing Using Geo Nodes In Blender
Hey thanks for watching my new video!
Here is how to easily make railings using geo nodes! I show you how to make the basic handrails with bezier curves and profiles but also how to use your custom modeled balusters!
Here you can get the better Curve to Mesh Nodegroup:

EASILY make a stunning Landscape inside Blender!
when using exr multilayer this helps but still I get a little bit more glossy reflections if saved to png. I am comparing and this helped a lot to look almost identical. but in the png I have the very white almost burnt reflections a little more bright. Do you know what can I do?
Hey, I double checked again but when I render a PNG and EXR and use the open color io on the EXR i get 100% the same reflections. Are you sure your EXR is converted to the right color space ? I think the new Blender version use AGX as standard, so perhaps you used filmic in AE instead of AgX? Or perhaps you have a view transform applied inside blender that changes your png result ?
think how hard that was BEFORE bevel profile... Actually, I guess it's not so much that as it is geometry nodes.
Very good tutorial ! Thanks 👍
So, all of this is stored inside the EXR file? Only Open EXR Multilayer? What about Open EXR (not multilayer)? I noticed you aren't using a Cryptomatte node at all in Blender. Other tutorials show using the Cryptomatte node in Blender with a file output node.
Hey, yes im using Open EXR Multilayer and you dont need the cryptomatte node to export it from blender at all actually, since After Effects comes with the cryptomatte plugin. I would say a downside to storing everything in one EXR, is that After Effects then has to load this huge file for playback every time. So theoretically you could export only the cryptomatte as a exr seperately and most other passes all as individual TIFF sequences to optimize the workflow. After Effects really starts to get very slow when throwing FX on EXR layers, so its alot better to export/convert your main video layer as a TIFF. So that when using FX on your video, you arent doing it on a massive EXR file. Hope that explains it !
Great Tutorial...for Architecture...could you throw some light on the Node groups which are visible only at the ending?
Hey thanks alot! Sorry for the confusion. I basically grouped the handrail and balusters seperately and then joined them. So there is nothing inside those node groups that I didnt show in the video! Feel free to ask me anything if you have more questions!

Thank you so much for this!!!
Whats the camera setting for making it look like that
Hey! I'm using the Panoramic Camera in Cycles. I set the Panorama Type to Fisheye Lens Polynomial and played with the values!
not Very important
Hey! its actually very important and a basic modeling practice, since most of the time, you dont want loops to go around your whole object, since it first of all creates more unecessary polygons and it can also mess with the smoothness of your subdivision surface in other areas! This technique can also be used on characters, where the flow of your polygons is very important!
ok
We'll continue this in another stream! ^^
Thanks brother

You have enabled denoising in the render tab AND you have a denoising node in the compositor. You only need one of two enabled right? Thanks for the tips!
Hey! Good catch yes, ideally you want to disable the denoise checkmark *if* you are using the denoiser in the compositor. Using both might affect the final result and it definitely increases rendertime. It was enabled by default so i forgot about that, thanks for pointing it out!

You can download the bare bones cathedral model from my sketchfab! (not a scene file but an untextured model of the cathedral) I'm currently unable to put links in the description because of this new channel, just type "Simon Eberl sketchfab" into google and you'll find the cathedral on my page! Have a nice day.
