      I’m not fully certain, but this might be an issue with the main board, tcon or full back panel. I’m afraid the fix in this video won’t be successful. Good luck - funny enough I just swapped to a projector Yaber V9 which is a great quality. Recommend it; especially for sports. Cheers

    I have an KD 65XE8596. it doesn't have a back light or chip board for it. But on the main power board it does have (cn6401_8) BL_ERR. Will it work the same?

  • @hunterjg777
    @hunterjg777 4 месяца назад

    I am a bit confused about how to read the pins from my servicing manual for my KD-55XE9005. It says my BL_ERR is at pin 27 on my main board, but I am not sure which way around that would be?

    hello. i heard from many tv technicians, its bad to bypass the backlight error wire, it could heat up or could be set on fire inside, if we bypass that protection.is it true?

  • @alantz9060
    @alantz9060 6 месяцев назад

    Opened my XBR 900E hoping to try this, the boards inside look different, havent been able to find a video like this for the 900e’s. Any chance you know where the bypass would be on those? This is an awesome video!

    • @TheDarticus
      @TheDarticus 5 месяцев назад

      I’ve received this question once before but unfortunately I am not sure on the 900 model. Assuming it would be the ribbon going into the LED driver board. Ground wire is normally more easy to identify.

      you just bypass an error message, this doesn't fix the real problem for that error message (red blink led) appears.

      Thanks for the reply., but what do you mean by lowering the backlight, how? MANY THANKS!!!

    • @TheDarticus
      @TheDarticus 6 месяцев назад

      Once you’re back up and running you’ll need to lower the backlight within the settings menu of the tv. I find going down to about 30-40 reduces any flickering. Essentially you’ll have a slightly darker TV, but it’ll be working!

    Had tv up stored away. Saw this vid might give it a shot. How do you change the wire. Physically pull wire by hand? Need tool? Cut? Snap back in on the 9 slot?

    I was basically told by Sony, sorry about your luck. I purchased this TV in 2017 after my father has had his Sony Bravia for over 15 years. I had done tons of research prior to purchasing and thought I was getting a quality product from Sony, since the TV was more than $2000. It has spent the past 6 months in a spare bedroom collecting dust until I found this video. I was about to bite the bullet and buy a new TV (not a Sony). I can’t thank you enough for this easy tutorial!

    • @TheDarticus

      Incredible to hear it worked for you! I received similar treatment from Sony. Apparently the LED fix is too laborious so they write it off. Just turn down the backlight a bit to avoid flickering. Cheers! Mine is still running several years post fix.

    IF 6 blinksnof RED LED...its because of the Backlight LED strips...So Try...replacing backlight strips...Bec it is a Backlight LED Strip problem...one set backlight LED strips is about $20...difficulty is Average..careful removal and recording of all screws etc to replace exactly the same way is important...Also best to replace the whole set of LED strips..don't do onlybthe Spoilt ones...bec they work in synchronization...any small voltage difference can cause a shutdown.. Use youtube videos that show how to do it as a guide...takes about 2 hours to get to the strips..if untrained...make sure the TV is switched off ...for more than 24 hours...and press switch on when unpugged to discharge as muchbas possible....and don't touch the capacitor..HIGH VOLTAGE SHOCK danger!!!

    I think led failure is usually 6 blinks.

  • @maxstevens9643
    @maxstevens9643 Год назад

    I have an XBR-65X900C that had the 4 blinks problem. I got it to start up and mostly work by changing the LD_ERR pin 2 to pin 9. The previous owner put it in unconditioned storage for a year (causing thermal expansion of the solder joints) after which it stopped working. If I keep it down to brightness level 6/50, only one LED is bad, but turn it up and the rest start flicking on and off. Could I take out the backlight strips and hit them with a heat gun/hair dryer? I'm not skilled at soldering so I'm not sure if that would ruin anything with the flux or not. Honestly I think I would just wait out until I'm ready to spend the money on new backlights and then try it first.

    • @TheDarticus
      @TheDarticus Год назад

      Hi Max - I think you run the risk of compounding the problem if you unseat those LED’s still in contact. Best to do a full replace if you have the time and can locate the part. Similarly I keep the backlight on low still. Best of luck and glad it’s working again.

      With the strength of Odinson. Just kidding, if I recall correctly there is a little plastic release. Or you just wiggle it out with some force. Someone here mentioned there is another video on that part alone. Best of luck on the fix.

    This worked to correct the 4 error lights. But, now there are shadows flashing across the screen. These shadows sometimes disappear briefly, but always come back. How do I fix that? I have already adjusted backlighting and color down to reduce intensities to no avail.

    what does a 6 red blinking sequence mean?

  • @ecornell5356
    @ecornell5356 2 года назад

    Fixed. Same TV. 4 red lights a few days after the 3 year old threw a cars toy at it. I'd add that a crazy small flathead screwdriver helps get the wire out, then it snaps into the ground port. Also, there isn't any noticeable issues with the screen once if started working again. Seems like Sony's all or nothing approach to back lighting must sell a lot of TVs. Thanks a ton for sharing. Feeling like I should send you a portion of the money I saved 😁
