This guy😂😂😂😂
I'm dyslexic. Can I never thought I would learn to read But then when i RL Stein and Stephen King are wanted to be like them. but reading didn't make me Take inspiration of their works It was their movies And I never thought I would learn how to read. It could all constantly be writing in books. Then sooner or later give up Then I learned about HP Lovecraft and I got into poetry. I never thought I would be A big fan of Edgar Allen Poe. But as soon as a I gave me a ham with my books I finally became a fan of Edgar Allan Poe Starting with his telltale heart After I was done listening to audio books, I started crafting four books with pure imagination. But I needed a I's help with perfect punctuation Text speech and ai Here's the reason why I'm Better at reading. R.Lstine. Steven king. H.P. Lovecraft Or the inspiration of what I've wanted to be a writer. I just tried reading There are books. But my dyslexia bank said harder and boring. So we just working on my book. I constantly have to keep reading my own book. I really do want to read other people's works It's just impossible for me not to read my own I wrote new words from other people's works either way. RUclips or looking up what the word is.
What's with the annoying music overriding the dialogue to the point we can not clearly hear what is being said. What is more important what you are saying or the music B.G.? Music should be so low that what is said is at least two thirds less than the volume of the voice, NOT fighting for first place as you have done. You may know something about dialogue, but not basic editing. Lose the music, it is not needed.
My brother’s , teachers, professors ! ❤❤❤
What, you couldn’t make the music any louder?!
In short; If you want to do something for a living, you have to, you know, do it.
Put down the phone and the tablets and pick up an actual book and read it.
Very annoying that there is someone talking all the time behind the music
Isn't it mister blonde who says the second line at the beginning? It was Michael Madsen right?
I dig the overpowering ambient music.
This goes for game development. want to make good games? play alot of games.
This was put together three years ago, so I will assume that it is clear to everyone in post to watch those little light thingies on the mixing board have purpose other than being an amusing thing to look at as your fry on 'shrooms. It's just like King had figured out--some years ago, judging by his appearance in the video--that he was lecturing us about reading and if we didn't read enough we were going to be unpitiable losers. I've made peace with Stephen King shouting in my ear metaphorically. I've told him I won't judge the lack of an objective editor to tighten down his writing because he is too arrogant to believe he could use one, if he doesn't tell me how to be a writer. That's my arrogance to believe he wouldn't, a few pages into my manuscript, toss it in the fire and not let Tabatha rescue it. Now, agreed, we are left with all of this horrible "mood music" and trying to hear King's words. Suggestions to those that turned this off because the music annoys you: seriously, how serious could you have been about following this. May I suggest? Turn on the closed captions and turn the sound down or off. See? That's technology, tamed.
The 1st 40 secs of this video explains why there's less talented artists nowadays. No one is ever bored enough to stumble across their true talents.
That was very insightful, thank you. I think that the soundtrack (or lack thereof) is also an intrinsic element of QT’s films; pure synergy.
That artificial "Film" artifact is silly. I just watched BRATS about the Brat Pack and that Documentary did the exact same thing and terribly distracting...
Used to be a big fan of his and owned everything he's ever written. But then he opened his mouth about politics and showed his true colors. So I burned every single one of his books. Will never read or watch anything based on his books again.
This was the least informative video ever.
Music bleurgh.
If you want all your characters to sound the same, quipping off one another in the most inorganic way - Sorkin's writing methods are definitely for you.
Eh, everyone has different advice for writers. Do whatever the fuck works for you, only listen to this if it helps
This is very Inspirational. I hope to some day have my own movies!
You're wrong that the conversations have nothing to do with the characters.
Always worth listening to a guy who has been there, done that. The music doesn't matter. Personal stories help to get in his head, as much as one can.
We don't need the music
I can't believe you didn't say "if you execute every motherfucking last one of these things correctly"
Like so many others have said, the music is oh so irritating! Get it off the video
This was so well made, it literally made me cry. I'm watching this Steven Spielberg documentary/life's work overview today for the first time, at a point in my life when, after 10 years of trying to make it in Hollywood as a director and 20 years of filmmaking experience, I gave up and moved to Seattle, WA to pursue a music career. I was unable to break into Hollywood as a director or actor, so I've been living in Seattle for 2 years. Yesterday, I got a call from a casting director to act in a movie shooting in Washington, and I also received a call from an Assistant Director and Producer in LA who may want to finance my next feature film. For so many years, I tried to achieve my dreams, but it just wasn't possible for me. Hearing Steven talk about all the years of practice he had before being hired to direct his first film really hit my heart. Like Steven, I've been practicing my craft of filmmaking for so long (20 years), and I am now reinspired to pursue this dream again with new life. I died to my dream and have been born again as a new director, actor, screenwriter, producer, and music artist.
He talks more about his life and experiences rather than give any useful advice. No disrespect, but this is not helpful at all for someone how wants to start writing.
Great speeches and stories do not need music
I wrote Rivals a Romeo & Juliet - zootopia Football movie. It will be #1 given the opportunity. All the athletes go into beast mode straight forward with Morse code. I will not rest easy until it's sold. God allows us to get old now I must obey. Do as I am Told!

Tarantino is awesome Filmmaker/ Writer 👌🏼🎬🎞🎥🤘🏻💯
Wow the music is so bad.
Incredible writer. Great advice
The background music is TOO LOUD!
Title has nothing to do with content
The same goes for Tenet and Memento, even Oppenheimer. The first rewatch you can pick up and follow the mechanics of what is going on better. But it's not until later rewatchings that you pick up on other deeper themes and subtle things occurring within the supporting characters storylines.
I don't think, if I can bear Oppenheimer for a even a 1.5th time.😅
Hes a good writer choosing bad subjects like crime, death, etc that to this writer is not entertainment.
Today, where would he send stories as an unknown writer?
I force myself to have time to read, force myself to write - and that is how knowledge is achieved!
Shouldn't have to force it...
@@RayW.... I also write lots of stuff that requires no need to force anything.
Best movie of Nolan for me
"BRAVO Darling... BRAVO"
Gosh, I LOVE a YT that gets me pumped up! I'm not the jump up and dance kinda guy. No, serious. Jumping up and down because I was excited was thirty years ago. That doesn't mean the passion isn't there, it's redirected. Sometimes screaming "I love you" as I whiz by someone going fast the wrong way on a one way street. Shut up! I've never hit anyone yet and the reactions from people are worth writing down. It's not that easy to get people to react fast, blurt out what their first thought is and will share with you what they look like in a fetal position, which few dare to show. That's the type of dialogue and character action that is hard for me to write myself. I'm a Stone Pacifist. My Scandinavian side of the family considers raising their eyebrows as harsh words. I need dialogue for people's reaction after the subway just came down on the back end of their car, what would be the reaction? Probably like a car barreling at them, donchathink? I'd write more, but I feel a trip to the mall and stir up a group of shoppers. Macys is good for that. Thank you for this wonderful step into the thinking of Sorkin! Great stuff!!💋
Clues about cern technology. Check out bro Sanchez. We’re in a simulation.
But what about his brother 😭
Am I the only one who can hear him talking over the music?
You are not alone
He is so right, practice makes perfect! I recently made a book review video, for his book LATER. You should check it out!
