The GOLDEN Era of US Chess🥇🥇🥇🥇Four Consecutive Olympic Gold Medals
Believe it or not, the United States DOMINATED the early Chess Olympiads. The well rounded teams took the Gold Medals in the Olympiads of 1931, 1933, 1935, and 1937.
Who was on the team during this glorious run? Fischer or Morphy?
The American team consisted of Isaac Kashdan, Frank Marshall, Reuben Fine, I.A. Horowitz, and Arthur Dake. This core team only got better when Sammy Reshevsky joined in 1937.
After WW2 the Soviet Union/Russia won nearly every team event for the next fifty years!
