I'm so pleased that the lack of commercial success of "Transference" hasn't left Britt with a negative opinion of the album. I also identify with his opinion that it appealed to people that got into the band prior to Ga x 5. I don't fault them for their continued growth in terms of their sound, but I missed many things that initially drew me to the band in the early days and Transference felt a little more in line with the earlier releases.

I played this song when I was 14 on stage for a school talent show. The cut the song at about 1/2 way through. I got in school suspension. 30yrs later I watched my 14yr old son play it on stage with his classmates at School of Rock TO A STANDING OVATION and thunderous applause. We’ve come a long way. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

For an album as epic and enormous as Mount Eerie, it’s very under appreciated. It’s definitely overshadowed by the great Glow Pt. 2, which is a shame because Mount Eerie is just as compelling of an album, and personally, I think it’s a more cohesive and ambitious album than the Glow Pt 2. Mount Eerie is my favorite Phil Elverum album

This is such an amazing “making of“ podcast, expertly edited, beautifully paced, coherent, structured well, with just the right amount of actual songs, and successful in that it’s fully reminded me of what an amazing experience it was falling in love with this record 30 years ago. So many podcasts/RUclips documentaries about great albums, while admirable in their intention, end up a mess, don’t have any source music, and are filled with rambling, incoherently written narratives. This is an exception. Great work!
