I did this so you don’t have to. Drones at 2-3k and it sounds like a Honda. After having it for a while though, its not that bad. It pops sometimes on upshifts and is very fun. I would definitely do it again. 2.5" straight pipe from the cat back, along with an ebay exhaust tip.

Hows the turbo fusion holding up? Do you plan on getting forged internals? Or does it hold it's boost well stock?
For the time I had it, internals were great on 10psi. The issue was oil AN lines I made popping off. If I still had it I would’ve done a mazdaspeed transmission and then after that built the engine

Any chance you could elaborate on the blow by issues you encountered and your personal solution. Mazdaspeed groups all saying gap the rings and all that. Did you just buy new rings or buy a new engine any input would be appreciated. Like evryone else in here has said 10/10 video man, thanks for making and sharing it

I have a question? How does this 4 cylinder sound without the cat? Because I have the same car and I’m kinda curious as to how loud it would be?
Jr boostin do you think the same straight pipe with a cherry bomb in place of the resonator would sound similar? Louder or prob more quite. I do like the straight pipe sound just curious how loud it is. Want a lil rumble maybe not to loud how’s the drone in the car? Sounds sweet for a four banger just got one so kinda interested
For which generation Fusion this is suitable to? Is it applicable for 2017 2.5 Duratect Fusion?
I believe they made no significant changes to the 2.5 ever. So yes but dont hold me liable.

Would these parts fit on my 2011 Transit Connect? It's pretty gutless and have thought of putting it a manual transmission and turbo. I think the 4 speed auto won't be able to handle any more power.

@@Topper-gf8xl then no. You might be able to swap the head out for a 2.5 head but I’m not so familiar with the 2.0 na fitment. There are multiple fb groups dedicated to duratecs. I would ask there

Ok what if I don’t add that much boost to the motor would this still work? I’m not asking for heavy amounts of power but do want to wake up the car a little bit. Or do you think a Tune would be good enough for a 2.5L? (I’m dealing with what I can afford at the moment lol) I least want some sort of power from this thing.
Just tune it with an exhaust and intake. Never do something custom unless you have the money to fix it when something goes wrong.

Many fusion builders are far better than ford shop mechanics. Honestly I love what's being done here this is an amazing build. With this type of car mind I would urge the builder to purchase a Ford Fusion 2014 Titanium 2.0 add arp head and main studs, & manley rods to the engine and build from there. I will be adding a catless downpipe and a tune with 245 35 18 tires and aftermarket rins to my fusion for next season. Once I replace all of the camber bolts I might add the adjustable camber arms & upgrade the shocks I'm either gonna end up with lowering springs or bc racing adjustable coilovers. My car has truly gained a ton of respect in my local car community. I never expected it to do this.

Decent. Hopefully my second gen with a 2.5 is still alive in a year or so, I may do this when I have a second vehicle and some extra cash. The sport mode on the tranny is better than L that chevy still uses. Still useful for limiting rpm range until you want full range of gears tho, I mean I remember I'd often just leave it in L2 or L3 for some fun city driving when I had my Malibu. I definitely wouldn't go over 10psi as I wouldn't want to enlarge as much as you did but I am curious what you did to strengthen/ replace anything block/cylinder/ camshaft -wise? Any issues come up since? I'll have to comment-surf..
Stock internals, would be worthwhile power gains to do cams for sure and if you have money and time definitely do pistons at least for peace of mind. But if you’re fine with a potential for more headaches the stock engine can handle 10psi fine
God, I wish the sports didn't have the 3500 rpm park/neutral limiter, I wanna be able to actually rev mine when someone's checking it out lol. That little 2.5 honestly doesn't sound too bad for an NA inline 4. Like others have said, definitely not as raspy as a honda, it's got a pretty clean tone to it 👍
Tune it and you can disable I’d imagine
If you straight pipe with stock tips and piping, these things are definitely JUST as raspy as a Honda motor. Exhaust addicts did one and it sounds awful.

If it broke fix it. Bushings like every 150 or so
Do you pull the engine out the top? Or do you drop the subframe?
Ideally because it is a transversely mounted engine you should drop the engine and trans out the bottom. However in a garage that is difficult so I recommend pulling the crash structure and pulling up and out of the front.

Would this work on the 2012 automatic *hybrid* model… I have everything in a parts list but I fear that it has a CVT trans…
I would imagine it would work as long as you keep the boost down it'll be fine. be the first to try it.

How long did the engine last
No issues from the boost, just other components I did incorrectly. My improperly made oil lines capooted a motor.

Idk if you’ll respond to this but I was curious on swapping a Mazda speed 3 6sp transmission into mine but I’m not sure how it would work? Or if it would? Ecu swap would have to happen yeah?
Depends if you’re auto or not. I know there is someone in the Facebook groups who’s done it. It should bolt up, you’ll have to do some research on which flywheel and clutch setup to use. If you’re auto you might be able to skate by with the auto ecu not sure though.

this is crazy hahaha how its serup looks like it could beat the 2.0 ecoboost. i wonder how much horsepower its pushing with that 2.5
I think it was about 250 or so. Definitely could handle a little more with a better setup

took out a catalytic converter plus the flex pipe but keep in mind that the exhaust does flex a bit without it and you will need to check for clearance, mine hit the heat shield every time I stepped on it so currently re doing mine with one muffler added clearance for heat shield lol surprisingly under tunnels it sounds very raspy so if you can’t afford a couple exhaust tickets maybe start with keeping one muffler, nice sounding car for a sedan 👍🏼 have an open header video posted but it’s not practical like that as a daily

@jrboostin gasoline, shoot only car you can get from ford is the mustang. Cars are changing who knows if you'll be able to do this in 10 years.
A few years back, someone turboed a Mazda 6 with the 3.0. It had the same engine as the fusion. They are interchangeable. There was a video on youtube about it. Also, over in the U.K., a 3.0 duratec (the V6 in the fusion is a duratec ) equipped with twin turbos was dropped into a rally car and makes over 600 h.p.. That thing is CRAZY fast. Noble supercars used 3.0 Ford duratec engines in their super cars making north of 425 h.p. Noble boosted one to over 900 h.p. with no trouble. Fully built, the 3.0 will put down 1000 + ✌

thats a whole different engine the reason you can boost this engine is because its the same engine as a speed3 parts are wasy to find and it can handle boost
