One might say some of these are original ideas but they look more like different versions of other characters or the same ones or What If's like asking What If Peter Parker Were The Hulk and suddenly you have a muscular hairy version of the Hulk that spits webbing... if that's original then why now make every character in the Marvel Universe into the Hulk and say that's original? The problem is that with an ongoing series that may last for years or even decades, you need new ideas every month and then, eventually, the characters get antiquated such as Peter Parker started in the 60s but I was born in 67 so he was already older than me but then, as time passes, I somehow became older and now I'm an old man while he's still a teenager in most cases. That's antiquation in a nutshell because maybe you could explain he gained immortality but then you have his supporting cast like Aunt May and Mary Jane so they just keep going with what they have because they don't have a concept of antiquation nor any ideas for how to replace their cast of characters with new ones for future generations. Thus, they just keep extending the existing characters until in order to have new ideas they take chances or find new creators who want to remake them as they would have created them so that they stop being what they originally were but then, if you don't win over new consumers you've lost your older customers and don't gain new ones... basically what's wrong with entertainment as a whole. They wanted to do a Kraven movie when he's not been relevant in a long time and if you're going to use him, why not a theatrical version of Kravens Last Hunt which I guarantee would have been a success? Answer... they don't have anyone with any ideas so they created a new kraven movie that lost the older fans and had no appeal to attract new ones. Movies and animation offer opportunities to present the older stories that comic books made famous and interesting that no longer really work in comics where rehashing the same old stories just gets dated. Do one shots and mini series instead of ongoing series so you don't push your creators to come up with new ideas every month for dozens of comic books when your consumer market has been destroyed by decades of bad leadership.
