Abstract
Within SPR and in the world of psychosocial disciplines there is growing concern with better understanding -and therefore providing relevant and respectful assistance- to those persons, families and communities who live under harsh conditions of extreme poverty, social seclusion, stigmatization and oppression. Although many programs in the world seek to provide help, SPR as a scientific community devoted to research, needs to collectively identify, get in touch and disseminate methods which are adequate to better understand the needs in mental healthcare as well as adequate interventions.
