A quick trip out to the cabin to tie up some loose ends before a two week trip out to the mountains of British Columbia for a moose hunting trip! It will be a couple of weeks away from the property and tying up a few things prior to leaving will help out when I get back from my trip. Building a pavilion for the outdoor kitchen!

The first part to getting the covered pavilion section of the outdoor kitchen! Pretty exciting to start this project and looking forward to when it is fully functional! It will make a great addition to the property! The weather was good, temperatures mild, the bug were bearable and I had possibly the worst meal I have ever had out at the property.

Are all your videos going to be short just wondering
He has longer videos, on the videos section 🍂
I know he has but I don’t wanna see old videos. I would like to see some of the new stuff that I love watching And looking forward seeing new videos
@@Loulou-nj7jihe’s put new videos out, it’s only 5 days ago the most recent one :)
@@Kty4419 It’s no big deal deal it is what it is all I’ve seen is short videos.
No, I will have my regular long form videos up on Thursdays. I am just starting to put up more shorts and trying to update the community posts more between long form uploads.
Mc Kenzie area?
South of MacKenzie a little ways.
Hey there, just found your channel I will have to power watch your vids. I also have some land in northern BC, around Stuart lake. I also rented John Deere 60g and did the same thing. Any tips on how you managed to keep the buck brush from growing back , I noticed you also have grass. Any advice I would love to hear. Unfortunately I’ve been working too much and side lined my cabin project but going to pick back up this spring. I’ll need to rent a skid steer because it’s unbelievable how much brush grew back in 1.5 years since clearing. Thanks in advance
Thanks for tuning into the channel! All I did to manage the yard from being taken over from the bush coming back is rent a skid steer and peel the top layer of material off down to the next layer of dirt and then planted grass seed. Once the grass was established I just had to mow it. The under brush tried to come back, but the grass choked it out and with consistent mowing the lawn just took over and dominated the whole area where it was planted. I have other sections of the property to do still and I just finished up clearing the next area with my mini hoe. Next spring I will be renting a skid steer and doing the final grading of the newly cleared area and planting grass seed.
This is great to hear , I’ve been looking for some answers to this over the last year. Now I know my skid steer rental cost won’t go to waste. What time of year did you plant your grass? Did you buy bulk seed? Also, did you have to water? Thanks for this valuable info
I planted in late spring. I only used grass seed from Canadian tire, a couple of small bags. I wasn't sure on how it would turn out so I did things on the cheap with only a little grass seed. Worked out good with the areas I planted so I will be doing the other areas I have cleared out with bulk seed.
Thank you, One last dumb question , did you need to water , and cover the seed with top soil ? Thanks a lot. Cheers friend
@@jamesl2697 I just threw grass seed down and left it. Worked out good.
I prefer to see you not taking part in blood sport. It's just not you.
Beautiful
Thank you! It was a great meal!

Is that a 45 gallon drum wood stove!!
No, it is actually a wood burning stove made by a manufacturer. They don't make them anymore in Canada for some reason though. Have to take care of this one.
Beautiful landscapes ❤
It is a special place with a lot of scenery! I love going there!
👍👍
Thanks Will
Woman's point of view. I like your vintage Corningware coffee mugs at the cabin.
😅
Thank you! There is a lot of older dishware at the cabin, a lot of garage sale type things that were given to the original builders of the cabin from back in the day!

There is actually a whole playlist of the cabin being built.

@@mariaowen3425 it is just a getaway for now, I am going to build something more permanent in the future.
Good video. I just finished my DIY trailer build for my HM122 and am about ready to put the mill together and install it on the trailer. It’s been in the crate in my shed for over a year. I haven’t milled since I sold my old mill in June of last year. Ready to start making sawdust again.
That sounds great! I haven’t used mine yet this year. Hoping to get some mills done before it get to cold and snowy.
Looks great around there good luck with the humt
Thanks Rob!
