Cleaning and Protecting JEEP wheels
In the video I finally get the chance to detail the wheels on the Jeep. I washed them, clay barred and then put a nice coat of wax on them. This should make keeping them clean A LOT easier.

I bought these bolts but the nut wasn’t threading on the ends of the bolt
Hey … I am not too sure why the nut would not thread on … it has been a minute, but from what I remember the nuts were threaded onto the camber bolts … then I unthreaded them … popped the camber bolts in and put the nuts back on … did you possibly hit the bolt when putting it in? That might have messed up the threads on the bolt or you may have cross-threaded it putting it back on … if anything I would reach out to the customer service .. maybe you received a bad bolt?
@@erickdokendorf3135 I actually asked for some people for help on Reddit and apparently it’s a lock nut which isn’t supposed to thread on easily and will have heavy resistance the first couple of threads, but after that it’ll bolt down smoothly
Looked great before. Totally unnecessary.
Your advice and thoroughness made a world of difference Thank you! -a new Subaru owner
Amazon link is dead just had my 04 STI driver side hid crap out on me tonight 😅
Hey sorry about that .. it has been awhile since I made this vid .. if I can remember you should be able to find by searching phillips 85 126 d2R … I think I said the model number around the 5:55 - 6:00 minute mark in the vid!!! Hope you can find them 👊🏻👍🏻

did he keep it with the 33 or 35s? and also do you think it looks good on 33s?>
35s … to me 35s look good. A 33x12.50 may not look bad but I think a 35 fills out the wheel well better
@@erickdokendorf3135 thx so much for the fast update, yeah im looking forward lifting mine but 8k tag price was turning me off i just found out about this kit!
nice vid was really hard to read about these and how they function. But seeing an actual demonstration on video cleared a lot of things up
Hi, I have the same setup on my 2016 hardrock, 2" mopar lift with toyo 35" tires. I have been fighting a hard right pull at highway speeds. This lift was done at the dealership when the jeep was new. I have taken it to 3 different dealerships (Jeep) no one can fix it. one dealer said its the tires?? I have rotated the tire many of time with no help. Also had a fox steering stabilizer installed , No help! Any ideas ? Thanks..
Could possibly be your drag link ... here is an article that shows how to adjust to center your steering wheel ... www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/adjusting-jl-drag-link-to-straighten-steering-wheel.11473/ 👍🏻
Did you find that one end of the long spacer was cut at an angle? Cheers
Yes it was cut at a slight angle 👍🏻
Does the beveled end of the long spacer go against the handle or the Jeep frame?
Gracias amigo!! I need to do 1, on my ‘04 ✌️👈
Hey man I just bought a 04 wrx, the previous owner had HID’s and they were shot and missing the power pack. I disassembled and removed the HID’s and tried to install the oem bulbs. Blinkers, highs and hazards work, no low beams. I noticed on each side there’s separate grounds that merge to the headlight wires. Any tips on removing those grounds? I feel they’re grounding out the low beams which is why they aren’t working and everything else is. Anything helps, thanks man.
Have you checked the fuses? That could be your issue. As far as the grounds I never had to mess with mine so I am not 100% sure ... just make sure though that the area where the grounds are connected are clean/clear of debris
Do you have before and after photos to see the difference the lift made?
George Georgiades I have a before pic and after pic on my IG account
Is the Tab meant to be pointing towards the wheel or away ?
Start watching at 9:55 and I show how I have the bolt/tab oriented 👍🏻
Have you been using 0W-40 even at 60k?
Derrick Garcia I actually was over 130k miles ... I originally used amsoil, then switched to rotella t6 which I used for years until they changed the formula... afterwards I switched to the Castrol 0w-40 European formula with good results!
Erick Dokendorf: I thought about using Motul 0W-40. I have a 2013 STI with 90k on it. Planning to use 0W-40 for the first time. Can I use it for this mileage? Thanks!
Derrick Garcia I used it on mine with no issues ... if you check out the forums there is quite a few write ups and what other guys are running, that is where I found out about the 0-w40 👍🏻 This was my second Subie and the amsoil, rotella t6 and the castrol 0-w40 European formula were the only ones I was able to run where I didn’t burn a ton of oil between oil changes ... plus I ALWAYS changed at 3k intervals and would check my oil levels all the time!
Did you put the long coil spring and short sway bar link in front? Did you put the short coil spring and long sway bar link in rear? Did you you get alignment after installing 2 inch mopar lift kit or no? Is the bolts and nuts are loose or snug not tight while jeep is on up in jack stand, and when the jeep on the ground did you move the jeep back forth before tighten and torque all bolts and nuts? Did you install a track bar adjustable or no? Please reply asap thanks.
Hey it has been awhile since we installed the lift ... here is a link to the install instructions ... www.quadratec.com/sites/default/files/installation_instructions/Mopar_2_Lift_Jeep_Wrangler_JL.PDF ... we basically followed those instructions which shows you about where each coil spring goes and the sway bar links ... we did get an alignment done afterwards ... we snugged the bolts up while on the stands and then once back on the ground we torqued everything to spec ... the torque specs are in the install instructions ... we did not install an adjustable track bar ... also we adjusted the headlights per the instructions as well! Hope this helps bro👍🏻

Why the hell would I want to see you move cars around? Your video sucks
Thanks brotha! just got an 05. I bought Castrol edge 0w 40 with a subaru filter just like you! I feel better about my choices now haha
I installed it on mine too. Took me 8 hours. Two days, four hours each. I had to walk away after four hours. Pissed me off after I was tired. Fresh eyes the next day was VERY helpful. Looks amazing and way more than 2” too! Nobody believes that it’s only 2”. I’m running the 285 Falken Ruby tires on it and it looks just fine. You have to do adjustable track bars though. Mandatory. MOPAR makes no mention of it. They should of though. As for ride.....it’s SUPER smooth and way more planted with heavy duty Rancho track bars. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! Worth the extra $400 or so, for both. Do it!
GEARBOX GEEK will definitely look into it 👍🏻
Looked good before
Fix’n to do that to my 2 door sport. I’m going to then put 35 inch tires on my stock wheels... silver is a great color.
Aaron Chandler 👍🏻
were those tires stock? 34s?
They are BFG 35x11.50 before and after the lift
Weak
Subaru really can't make anything simple can they
Sunny Bunn .... I say that every time I work on it LOL!!!
they're adjustable headlights on this model, as in they can move up and down once ur in the car, I'm assuming thats why they are designed this way
If you say Subarus are hard to work on you havent really been working on much.. Try working on a BMW or Mercedes, then you'll see how easy actually it is to be a mechanic on a Subaru.
@@AlexanderPews i agree, subaru's are like lego's. they can be a pain but nothing like working on anything european

These cars really benefit from some camber. -1.4 degrees front, 1.0 rear really reduced understeer for me.
Steve Erdosi .... Agree 100% ... that is exactly what I had mine set to ... -1.4 in the front by adjusting the camber plates and -1.0 in the rear with the camber bolts 🤙🏻
So in this video those are the 35” ko2’s?
FenderStrat 4Life! Yes. They may look smaller because they are a 35x11.50
Looks fine to me. I was just trying to find reference material for the mopar lift and 35s
FenderStrat 4Life! 👍🏻 ... let me know if you have any more questions 😎
What is the overall height from ground now with the lift and 35s? Trying to see if it’ll fit in my garage lol
Tim Archibald I will measure it in the morning for ya! 👍🏻
good lift - but need 35" tires if doing this lift to make it look right
Chris Schmauch I agree!! At least a 35x12.50 ... a 37x12.50 wouldn’t look too bad either 😎
@@erickdokendorf3135 got my wife a 2018 JL Rubicon for her birthday - doing same lift you did and 35x12.5 - just havent decided to do it on 17,18 or 20" wheels...??
Chris Schmauch good deal!! Personally I like the look of more sidewall. If it was my rig I would go with 17s ... I have 17x9 fuel hostage wheels on my 2016 JKU right now 😎 my brother in laws 2018 JKU in the video has the stock rubicon wheels which are 17s and he has 35x11.50 tires on it ... he will probably go with a 37” 12.50 tire next with a set of 17” wheels 👍🏻

Nice, I have the same color JLUR but a soft top. Are you seeing any bow in the driver side spring? I’ve had my lift on for a few months a noticing a pretty bad bow. It has the coil pad “fix” from mopar. Took me and a friend about 4 hours for the install. Control arms and front bump stop we’re the toughest part. Lots of swearing and a ratchet strap seemed to help.
Rob Brown lol on the swearing ... we had quite a bit of that during the install! We are actually going to be installing a new driver side spring... there are two different springs for the driver side and passenger side... unfortunately they sent us two passenger side springs... we will be doing an update video here in the near future installing the correct one ... there is a noticeable difference (driverside sags some) I believe this will be fixed once we put the new spring in since I believe the driverside spring is a little stiffer to compensate for the gas tank being on that side.
@@erickdokendorf3135 my kit came with driver and passenger front springs but still notice a bow in the drivers side way worse than the passenger. Thinking about trying Rock Krawler base pads to see if it makes any difference. Nice video and Jeep.
Rob Brown thanks man! Hopefully that will solve your issue! If we run into any sag after we put the new spring in I will let you know for sure. If we hear about any other fixes I will let you know as well!
@@MrNewtoGuitar From research on the forums and abroad I have seen that this is a common problem with the mopar lift. Not only is it much more than the 2 inches advertised (CLOSER TO 3) but apparently the springs are poorly made. I am going to be going with dynatracs lift. I cannot find a complaint anywhere although I will be buying some LACs to correct caster angle at least.

Was a good video but would really have liked if you had shown footage of any difficulties you encountered. Kind of felt like a bystander without hearing any of the cussing when things got difficult lol.
Texas Jeeper LOL there was lots of cursing putting these on haha but I kept the video G rated 🙂 as far as difficulties it started with getting it lifted which we didn’t do the safest way ... lifting from the differentials with a piece of wood ... installing the springs, shocks and end links was actually pretty simple ... the bump stops were a little bit of a pain and the worse part was getting the new control arms to fit (had to muscle them in some)!! But really the install wasn’t that bad! If you have any specific questions let me know!!! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Nice...Im about to attempt it myself...can it be done with just two guys, jack stands and floor jack?
Texas Jeeper ... should be possible... a third would definitely help when getting the control arms to line up though ... just be patient with it ... it’ll seem like the new ones are 1/4 to 1/2 an inch off but you just have to finesse them in there!
Thanks Erick I appreciate it. Hope to see you on the trails one day. Headed to Moab 2019.
Texas Jeeper for sure brother 🤙🏻
You have your camera pod inserted incorrectly. The velcro flap should be on the bottom so that when it’s open you have a full view of the compartments and don’t have to fish around blindly with your hands
Justin Pelton I will have to check that out for sure! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Erick Dokendorf fasho! I just bought the bag today and that’s how mine came from the store. There’s also a rain guard in a zippered pocket on the bottom of the bag 👌🏾
Justin Pelton yeah the rain guard def comes in handy down here in FL 🤙🏻
hey Justin, how? I just got the camera, I think u are wrong, if u place the velcro flap at the bottom?
Thanks for watching!!! Let me know if anyone has any questions regarding the install!!!
How does it ride compare to stock??
josorzo11 I would say close to stock, maybe a little firmer (even though the rubicons factory setup is great this lift is geared towards more performance). This is with the lift and going from the stock 33s to 35s. On the trail it made a huge difference!
Thanks for watching. Hopefully I can get a set of rear end links quick and get the STI back on the road!!
Finally got some new tires ... thinking I should have went a little wider with the 255/35/18 ... next time for sure ... on another note I really want to get air ride .... one day! Hope you guys enjoy!!
