Hit the nail on the head about Kings. I boarded at Auckland Grammar. My house master/director of boarding would wait outside our rooms till 4am to hear us talk, he would also go back through old footage of the security cameras outside our room to see if we did anything he could he could punish us for. If we got caught he made us do labour all weekend without leaving the boarding school zone. This was recent and barely scratches the surface. Lot of those teachers deserve to be locked up
Terrible stuff. Blows one’s mind that an adult in a position of power over a child can behave like that.
