In China, the Kung Fu Fan Is Also a Weapon | Martial Arts
In ancient China, traditional fans were works of art; people wrote poems, painted, and carved on them to show off their taste. But as martial arts novels became popular, fans turned into weapons. The people who use them are usually young kung fu masters-the main heroes with positive, heroic images. They're suave and handsome, effortlessly defeating enemies with their fans in super elegant fight scenes. As a child, I found these scenes magical and would grab fans at home to imitate them, dreaming of learning the kung fu to defeat enemies with a fan. But in recent years, you hardly see any really awesome fan performances anymore; actors with those skills seem to be getting fewer and fewer. ...

    一个小补充,二郎神在西游记和封神演义等各种古代作品中,甚至插画塑像,都并没有三只眼的特点。 在清朝中期,1850年前后,民间才开始出现额头有天眼的二郎神的形象。甚至被官员发现后惊讶其古怪奇异,不被上层社会认可。 但是在那之后,三只眼的二郎神形象却基本固定了下来,这样的变化也才不到两百年。

    Education is important. But if you know your child can or cannot handle studies, we should push accordingly and not compare with others. Everyone has different intellect and capacity and there is nothing bad in not having it. People find something they are good at or okayish at least in their life. Understanding the feelings of a child is an important task and parents should not push their own feelings on them. THATS JUST MY OPINION.

    • @ChineseMyths101
      @ChineseMyths101 3 месяца назад

      I agree with your view. I also believe that instead of putting pressure on children, it would be better to push myself to work harder and provide a better life for my child, to support her as needed. My daughter is still young, and that's my current mindset, but people are products of their environment. In a community where many parents send their children to tutoring classes, it's hard for me to guarantee that my views won't change in the future.

    You are right about no easy way to deal with it , but I think Chinese, he'll all Asian nations over work and over stress thier kids. Social skills are just as important as Academic ones. I hope many Chinese families spend a lot of time togther work and school takes so much time away.

    • @ChineseMyths101
      @ChineseMyths101 4 месяца назад

      This is a very difficult decision, primarily because most Chinese people are busy with work, trying to make money, and simply don’t have time to spend with their children. Previously, schools used to let out at 3 PM, but many parents were still at work. So, in the past couple of years, many parents have requested that schools extend the students' time at school until the parents get off work. You see, this is us actively asking the schools to take on more supervision of our children. It’s a tough decision, and I can’t quite understand why we Chinese are so exhausted.

      That’s why they have this term 啃老族 - living off the old which is their parents. Interesting to see this reversal of values now from older days of filial piety where it’s the adult kids giving allowance and money to aged parents.
