    • @subtleknits
      @subtleknits 24 дня назад

      @@jwatson4610 No you would have to make it bigger. You can add 4sts for every 1" additional I. e. this kimono is 10" in width and to add extra 2/3" You will add extra 8/12 sts. That will make the body wider. And for adding the length knit extra rows and measure as you go. For 3 months you can add 3" Extra. Directions :- co 52/56 sts as per your size preference. I the tutorial I knit 5.5 " before casting on sts for sleeves. You can knit 6.5 " and cast on sts for sleeves. For sleeves cast on additional 5 sts more than what is shown in the tutorial. You can make the sleeves wider by adding few more rows before dividing sts for the front panels. I hope it helps.

      @subtleknits Месяц назад

      @@CatherineCurtis-r1q Hi I don't have pattern for premie but if you want to make smaller size here's what you can do. So my gauge is approx 22 sts= 5 inches. So the kimono I made in this video is 10 inches in body width. Say if you want to make 9" /8" body width go ahead and cast on 40sts/ 35sts on 4mm needles. And then you can follow the tutorial as it is. And for smaller length knit fewer rows. Or you can keep on measuring your work as it progresses. For the sleeves may be cast on 5-6 sts less than what I have shown in the tutorial. So do that and if you need further assistance on the way I am happy to help😇

      @subtleknits 2 месяца назад

      Hi I am so sorry that I didn't pay attention to little things in this tutorial . In my other NEWBORN BOOTS tutorial (Y ou can find it on my channel) I have shown how to start sewing or joining the sides. You can go and watch the tutorial from 11:59. And I can see I didn't really say it in the tutorial but you need to slip the first stitch of every row to form the edge stitch. I have obviously done it in the tutorial but I didn't say it out loud. So if you have done that it will be much easier for you to sew the sides. You will continue to sew the garter stitch section using the same method with which we started sewing the sides together. I hope it helps. So sorry for the inconvenience.

      Yes of course you can make it longer. So in the tutorial, I say to knit 12 inches before we separate the front and back panels, you can add the additional length before you separate the panels. For eg. if you want to add 2 more inches then knit 14 inches instead of 12 inches and then separate the front and back panels.

    When starting the 2nd part of the ribbing (after knitting one whole row) you say to start ribbing again by repeating row 2 and row 1. Are we starting with a purl stitch? Do we slip the 1st stitch. You did not show exactly what you were doing, so I am a little confused.

    • @subtleknits

    • @subtleknits
      @subtleknits 2 месяца назад

      It's totally fine. So I did pick up last st from the cuff and bind off. Because when we are knitting in the round with such chunky yarn it is slightly uneven where the beginning of the row is (because we are ending one row and going into another). So to rectify that I did the last step. Other wise your cuff will look little bit uneven at the end. I hope you understood and it helped. 🙂

      @@JanetBoitos-qf7jj You don't have to pick up sts for binding off. You have 44 sts of the sleeve, you do the bubble patterns and later decrease stitches right before knitting the cuff. After decrease the stitches is 26.You knit the ribbing with 7mm needles and after you are done with all the ribbing you di the bind off. You bind off all 26 stitches as I showed you in tutorial and at last I picked up one more stitch and bind off to make it look neat. I hope it helps.
