Makes sense tbh. I'm a brand new player as of last month...and I bought the Python MK2, which likely let me skip 150-200 hours of new player grinding. Sadly, without it, when I saw how much grinding I'd be doing, it likely would've been a quit moment.

If they want new fans, then write new stories, new IPs. Buying a built-in fanbase and then targeting a different market segment can only lead to negative emotions (“hate”) Did you understand the “love” for Star Wars when Disney bought it? Then you understand the concept of “brand”, and you can see why after a series of bad movies and shows, the latest show is “hated”. Best way to avoid it is to write the Acolyte as a standalone story. It wouldn’t get 14% on Rotten Tomatoes, but it also wouldn’t get any viewers. And that reveals that the $180m budget is an investment in brand, not in storytelling excellence.

So is it in Elite dangerous or Elite dangerous Odyssey, and where can I get gun's and stuff at?

You don't seem to care about that 32+ mil/week upkeep. How are you comfortable with it? I mean, I'd love to have more services, but I don't have too much time to play, it feels like I'm playing just to maintaine the carrier; having to spend that much each week is a bit daunting.

I have been away from the game for some years but I am thinking about coming back. Fleet carriers are new to me but I have a question: I have a fairly large fleet of vessels of my own that are specialized for different tasks (mining, combat, exploring, passengers, etc.). When I left there was talk of a means to transport all your ships to different bases without having to travel there yourself. Are the Fleet Carriers that means? I am not really ready to buy a fleet carrier but I have 7 ships I want to move a long way (Colonia) without having to actually fly there.

Watching this, I who has as of yet, though play in the Odyssey mode vs Horizon. Haven't gotten envolved in doing anything Odyseey. Tried to do as you stated. And after checking some 50 station's, Managed to purchase, all three in grade 3, but no pre engineering. I continue on to doing another almost 25, when I saw the middle of the three in grade three with night vision already installed. Bought it, and sold the other I had. I'm courious as to though I've continued more or less in checking for the other two also in grade three with the night vision already installed. Wonder, do they even exist. I mean I found the first one, I'd say rather quickly, but though I'll find the other two in grade 3 which I already have. None of which ever have any pre-engineering, let alone the night vision. Would you know if there is a limit as to how many suit's and or weapon's one can own.

Great video, and the only one I have seen that points out the markers on the compass that give the direction and distance to the current biological samples you have already scanned. The codex information on the individual genus's tell you the distance you need to travel to achieve the required genetic diversity. Third party tools like "SRV Survey" provide this information on an in game overlay. CMDR Burr states that "SRV Survey" is an excellent companion tool to "Elite Observatory" another third party tool.

I believe the difference between "audio masking and noise suppressor" is that one works inside buildings and the other works outside buildings.

Couple things would make this So Much more enjoyable. 1) Let is pack the little drums, we should be able to pack at least 3 one in the gun and one on each hip with options for more. 2) Along with how they are trying to keep it real they could take a page from what NASA and others are fiending in regard to Bacterium. It's mostly found Below ground (aside from water but that's not going to be for us) They need to give us more to explore. Lava tubes and ice caves would be fun to have to enter to get samples. Worrying about getting lost and battery life, yup make it more Interesting and nail-biting enjoyable. I know the big one many are asking for is critters and being able to walk around in our ships. Some ships have the basic layout of their internals done so that may not be as hard to do. Critters would be a little. How about they take a page from the old Star Wars Galaxies and how they had implemented sand box worlds. Being able to do all we are now PLUS fabricate mining units we could place and harvest from on plaints. Camps of many sixes and configurations and mases and buildings. That game is now OLD as Dirt in Game in tech years, so if they had all that on theirs, one would think it more than possible on such Massively advanced games as this. With the low percent of worlds, we can actually land on that have any semblance of atmosphere the percent that may have critters or Ore or other useful things that would make setting up a base would make it feasible I'd think. I'm just not in to the Thargoid thing. When I came in it was already a thing and jumping in at that point, I was not invested at all and with it all locked behind a story line and a crafting system that was ambiguous and hard to figure out and implement alone, you really need to be in a big group to do much and they have done little to promote people getting on their main servers or group interactions. The starting system gets you about 100m. So right off the bat you could have a decent amount of money. What I did when I started is did a bunch of station missions building up rep and getting about 100k or less each. Bought the cobra, then you can get everything you need to explore pretty easy. Just swap out parts on that ship to do other things so you dont get bored of doing the same things. Cobra is the perfect starting ship as its decent enough to get you mining, exploring, fighting, etc.

Darn so refueling is basically selling to your carrier then huh? Was hoping there would be a separate system for this. Are you familiar with bulk trading using carriers? Would love a guide for that. 🙂

Odyssey seems like a mistake. Unironically Star Citizen is evolving faster.

I got Odyssey for $16 and I never do the on foot missions cuz the Horizons missions all pay better (except for exobiology) and they're easier. I really appreciate how the extra feature adds to the immersion, but I'm also REALLY GLAD I didn't have to fork over 40 bucks for it...

I don’t like Odyssey, I wish I never bought it. I got into playing it in Vr with a hotas. The game play loop in Odyssey, should have been achieved with mechs instead of on foot, it would have been way cooler they wouldn’t have had to forgo vr support, and I could have used my hotas to control them too…and you’d pay 40 dollars just for mech warfare

One reason, outside of the obvious, why I am not going to ever buy ANY "DLC" for Elite Dangerous- when they made Horizons the base-game... I didn't get crap for having paid for Horizons when it was a DLC. Nothing- not even an email saying "Thank you idiot, now play it some more".

Feeling exactly the same. Goids are the least interisting string for this game to develop. Why there is still no full athmaspheric world? Why still no ship interiors for instance?

Subbed for the level headed viewpoint. Really wish there was more content coming. I actually am picking up Thargoid fighting soon after playing for 5 years because they are encroaching my friend groups area. Feels so forced. You hit the nail on the head with the term “recycled”.

I love Odyssey, Yes we need some loving from them. Here is what I'd like to see that may not be to Server shattering. 1) Move Molds to underground, give us old lava tubes or Ice tubes where we must go in to, to get some of our bios. Imagin you're tracking the second and third samples down winding tunnels as your battery is dyeing and then you realize your suet is near out of juice slight pucker but you just Pop in a battery NP, now your lost, Pop another. Add to that the creepy Ambiant sounds and posable critters in there. Thay might be light sensitive, that would make sense so they only attack if your lights out or turned away and things get toe curling fast. LOL 2) Critters, on a few planetoids or Moons. Sa one if 5o or so of the ones we are able to perform Bio work on now. 3) the handheld Bio sampler has the Ping function that is so handy on really dark bodies like those at a far orbit around a dwarf star. It's really not too hard to rig one of your hard points with a stick and attach one of the devises so why not? Make it so we must be below 100, and traveling slow, like two or three pips throttle only. Allow us to sweep those dark worlds easer. Still making us fly more and play more, Win Win. IMO :) I'd pay to see Spider jump scares in here (Besides the Thargoid kind I'm sure are immanent). LMAO PS ok Yes Base building would be awesome granted but that would be hard Id think to implement.

Exploration is probably the last thing i would change ^^ there are way bigger Problem with Elite lol. Plus, i love the emptyness in the Verse. Its the same with 'The Forest'' The forest was an Game what made you feel lost, and Sons of th eForest just dont anymore, just because of Kelvin. Those Beacons would do the same to Elite. Then it becomes No Mans Sky. I think Content is one of the things Elite does right. How grindy it is, is another part of the story. But for me the on Foot Odyssey Experience is quite good, if i just knew where the fuck i need to get my Materials from to upgrade my gear. ^^

you just need to coop :))) elite is or not a multyplayer game? if there is no coop they will just erase open mode for make the game more slim XP they just nerf things and force people to follow the LORE that they made, wasting theyre personal time ^^ so they want you all to play in coop against the aliens, instead being solo terminators that can repel alone fleets of aliens ^^

Damn that works very well... Found all 3 suits grade 3. Dominator with Shieldregen on it alrdy Artemis with Battery also, and 2 Slots free on my Maverick, in about few hours ^^ but i had some empty 2 hours try to find anything. So i desided to cound on the Peoples lazyness :D and it worked haha. i only go to Station sthat are FAR FAR away. means, nothing under 100'000LS. best gear i have found on a Station that wasent visited like 90 Days and 400'000 LS from the star. got the grade 3 Shotgun with the Visir from there. But yea. just watch some Movie. or better soemthign else. Series would be better :D or else you run out of Movies soon hehe.

Love the game, just started playing again. I aint no big veteran or nothing, but it could be so much more. Its a overfull platform for outer space. Never attempted or fought a thargoid in my life yet either.

They did not nerf the stuttering and Lag one bit, in fact its worse now while my other AAA games runs everso smooth

Fdev obviously hired a large number of the Eve Online employee's who did the same thing there. No one playing Eve Online wanted an Alien invasion either but the programmers wanted a way to punish the player base for complaining about all the things that CCP screwed up in the game. They are just a bunch of sadistic programmers with a God complex, that is why they do what they do.

Odyssey should have been a free feature add to the game. I get why they wanted to sell it, but it created the problem that online gaming has struggled with for years in the form of Player Base Segregation. The Thargoid War in my opinion was a 'save the game' move by not only trying to make something exciting, but also AI automated meaning company resources could to this at low as cost as possible. I love Elite, and I also play Star Citizen. But if you look back at the original ideas by both men creating these games I can't really decide which is more full of shit and unicorn dreams while ignoring what the players actually need.

When the next DLC comes out I will get Odyssey for free. That’s the way it always works. Too bad I don’t care.
