Hush Hush - Evenflow
I found this from about 1994. Hush Hush was the band name, Mark Schenker, Billy Jones, Jim Foltz and Keni Melby. Recorded at Crackers in Waynesboro PA by my cousin Dan. The reason I posted it is because Billy is sadly no longer with us, he passed on a few years ago. PJ is one of my least fav bands but this song shows what a tremendous talent Billy was, he was such an incredible player and those who remember him will appreciate seeing him shine like the sun when he was truly alive doing what he loved. I was lucky to have him as a close friend while he was here and even more lucky to have played music with him for many years. I think about him quite often and I miss him dearly.

Dean Cramer of Funny Money has a misstep onstage at Stinger's in Maryland.
He was a PERSONALITY unlike 99 percent of these other rock bassists who jump around instead.
Beast!!!! such a Great Great Bassist.
The Ox was a force of nature! RIP John Entwhistle!
Ever notice how John holds his right hand up and over the fretboard and doesn't curl his left hand fingers very much, almost keeping them straight at times? that's because when he was young he learned to play the piano. It has been often said that he plays bass like a piano, and this li'l video spotlights that style very well.
I love John but sorry, I've got to say that the style of playing around 0:14 is horrible.
The Who. An all-star band.......
bunch of noise. speed does not equal good music.
The Chapmans stick before it was invented! Entwhistle was the best ❤
Good dexterity, mid-level knowledge of harmony.
G O A T
Plays it like a brother
Jesus H. Christ!
I saw this on the dvd and it was very impressive! listen to Mark King too
HUMAN MACHINE
The greatest. No contest.
The absolute KING of the base !!!!
Fuccckd
Ungodly
Like…..how??!!?????
Lots of dumb arguments about the "best" bass players on the thread, but wow it's just great percussive playing -- exciting and badass, of course suits the band perfectly.
Man was a genius! Sadly missed 😢
I think his Nickname fits him. Just imagine if he was a Muses. He could fix that sore back in 15 Seconds Flat.
His tone!!
Lemmy: "I always wanted to be John Entwistle, but since that place was taken, I became a lesser version"
Legend 👍🏆🇬🇧💥💪🏼
He adopted all those effects to the detracting of his bottom end sound. I guess he WAS pretty deaf by then.
....???
This was gnarly
No one can every play the bass like John. God bless the Ox and Mr. Thunder Fingers.
He is your favorite bass player’s favorite bass player
He is to bass guitar what Jeff Beck is to a 6 string guitar.
I am big "Yes" fan but I think John beats Chris big time!
The Audience immediately stood up when he started this solo in Toronto, and clapped for what felt like minutes after he had finished!! I will never forget it, outside at the Molson Amphitheater, 97'
He's just totally awesome Thunder ⛈️ Fingers. No one can ever come close to this man's incredible precision on thoses rolls of his.
Very few bassists changed rock! Paul McCartney and The Ox are two of the few! Paul simply because he sang and that brought the bassist to the front of the stage. The Ox? Well, I don’t think my explanation can outdo this video about how he changed the roll of the bassist!!

This is what I be watching when I want to feel like a failure
We know cause you're complaining...he's in the Hall of Fame..where are you?
@@jljohnson8668 he's saying that because it makes him feel bad that he's a bass player seeing that entwistle is a a virtuoso
@@frippster okay
Lucky enough to see John play in Birmingham arena 1982 when the who were on tour after releasing the It's Hard album... Got right to the front of the stage.....My ears were still ringing at school on Monday... Absolutely amazing concert ......🤩
I saw them in 1982 also but in Los Angeles, it was an outdoor concert got real close to the front and my ears rang for 3 days. That was my first concert ever. The clash opened for them and we’re good too
Thunderfingers!!!
My bass hero! He signed my first bass,a 60s Vox that I treasure.
No way! That's rad!!
@@douglasstrother6584 I approached John during a sound check for his band and he told me to catch him when they finished. He got a kick out of the Vox and we talked for a little while. He was so humble and cool.
@@kevmac1230 Wow! That's great!
If I could ever ask God for one gift, it would be able to play bass like The Ox.
Pretty Good Sounding! I hope no autotune n pitch correction, I don't think so. I was from about 50 from their "home area" in MD! These influenced about 900 Million singers n players in that area. They were absolutely amaaaaazing on a good night!! RockON!
SO much better that most knew he was. Insuring and I miss him!!!!
Entwistle was better at bass than Clapton was on guitar. Yet he barely even gets half the credit Clapton gets
That's life mate, he knew he was good and other musicians knew he was good and that's why he was in one of the best hands ever !!
His hand movements were very much exaggerated. There are bassists who can play traditional bass riffs better. What made him great is that he wasn't technically a bassist at all. He was a guitarist who happened to use a bass. He played a bass as if it were a lead instrument, and his riffs were designed to not just be in the background like bass riffs, but to act as a counter and compliment to Pete Townsend's guitar.
You obviously know nothing about the bass guitar, or John Entwistle.
All I can say is God for Geddy Lee! Entwistle is a sloppy basis I dare to call him the Jimmy page of bassists!
What are you smokin' ?
@@jaydemo5792 dude he's all over the place most of the time when he plays his notes. His timing is terrible. Haven't you ever learned anything about rhythm? You probably never actually rehearsed with the drummer for any period of time. Entwistle has always done some really cool bass licks but it's timing is terrible. It's like listening to Robert plant. Great lyrics great melodies but it's timing is notoriously terrible and even admits it! So let's say interesting is Robert plant on base that's the best comment I can give you about him. No I take that back actually he's a better singer than Robert plant.
@@johnston.scott64 Yeah , he's all over the place......I already asked you what Your smokin" which would then explain to me why YOUR all over the place........
@@jaydemo5792 probably because the only time I get on Facebook to waste reading b******* post by idiots like you is when I'm drunk. But I stand by my statement and whistle was really good but compared to getting late... Seriously? Compared to Geddy Lee, you must be on PCP.
Rolling Stone magazine: John Entwistle, greatest bassist of the 20th century. You: Not so much.
Натан Ист играет с Эриком Клэптоном очень интересно. Нет превосходства БЫКА.
คนเล่นเก่งไม่จำเป็นต้องเล่นเร็ว ฟังไม่รู้เรื่อง
Saw them the 1st time in 1975. John Entwhistle was the best, no one even comes remotely close!
maybe the best year to have seen them , moon was on form for all the gigs in 75
Never...never...never ...understand why some people talk about Geddy Lee ?!!?? They don't play at all in the same court. I respect Rush but don't like their music. Don't like the voice, I find there IS no Real Melody in their songs AND don't like at all the bass sound. Please if someone Can explain the value and specificity of Geddy Lee' s playing ?!??
