i really miss that guy
RIP, Tom, we miss you.
Miss this dude! 😢
PETTY TALKING ABOUT LIBERALS TAKEING YOUR FREEDOMS AWAY
Absolute Tom Petty... never better
He is still so very much appreciated and missed 😢😢😢😢😢❤
Dedicated to the great Jim Ladd
Rest in peace Lonesome LA Cowboy Jim Ladd, from KMET to KEDG to KLOS , or wherever you were, you spun sets that made us think and stirred our souls. Hope your hanging out with the Burner Mary Turner, JJ Jackson , Tom Petty, and all the others.
... and Neil Peart
alfredstorm7624 The Mighty Met KMET was such a big part of my youth. WWWHHHHOOOOYYYYAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the bands most underrated albums IMO. A gem! 🤘😎🤘. ❤🙏❤
Another great performance by TP & HB’s. Yup, the last DJ indeed ❤
I will always miss him like a spiritual advisor and a sweetheart
Oh that happy crowd!

Legends forever
Funny that Tom and the boys performed this on NBC…. “You are not talking about us are you?”
LEGEND
song at 3:01
How can anyone not like Tom Petty?
Rock on Tom with andy
Tom petty is spinning in his grave .
I bloody loved Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. They never wrote a bad song IMO.
He was so funny. ❤️
WTF was all that about. screaming fans and Tom getting a really important message song through. Shame on the audience but he didn;t expect anything else. it's what made him Tom Petty.
My friend brought over some new records. New music. The album had just come out that week. That was when we had djs that played what they liked. It gained done air play and away they went. I had no idea how prolific and enduring they would become. But driving around at 16 with American girl blasting, singing along as loud as possible, well these songs reflect our lives.
TV squashes the sound wonder how it sounded live
Katie dancing nude with Tom on stage would be a real heartbreaker.
That was one of my favorites back in the day! Simple song but powerful !!
I sure wish utube would put the last dj in the club house back on. Big deal he's smoking a joint. Please put it back on.( Candy)
The first verse I heard of this then, new track, I knew very well it was a tribute to LA's very own Jim Ladd, the Lonesome Cowboy.
...and now he is gone too.
TP wrote this song about legendary LA DJ, Jim Ladd YOOOYA!!
He had that Bob Dylan type voice…..
Just my opinion, but Tom's voice was a million times better than the "sacred" Mr. Dylan. When Bob sang it was so difficult what words he was singing. Tom Petty's singing gave so much expression to the words.
@@carolynwilson2206 well yea, like I said, he had that Bob Dylan type style. I wouldn’t say Tom’s voice was that much better than Dylan. No way
Brilliant
Buona notte ❤ bellissimo momento di lavoro vinci vinci vinci vincitore
The Last DJ could be his best album.
FANTASTIC !!! 🙏🏻👏🏻
we're still here tom..
Not long before he passed away huh?
It's actually about 15 years before he died. This is from 2002 promoting "The Last DJ" album, and he passed away right after he completed the 40th anniversary tour in 2017.
He started fucking with her after the "party on dude" silly ass comment. Who did she think she was talkin too? Katie tryin to lay boogie woogie on the King of Rock n Roll!! Ha ha fn ha!!!
Loved the music that defined me as I was trying to find myself. Rest in Peace brother.
Mike Campbell looks like Beetlejeuse.
it's showtime! 😆
Killed it.
One of his best songs as far as I'm concerned, too tooo underrated. Beautiful song which actually tells the truth. RIP Tom,hope you're still performing in rock heaven. A job well done.
Makes me cry to see our current state of the world.
@@westlcha86 you mean that audience
@@evelynbaron66 noooo I typed exactly what I meant to. Why would it be audience? That word wouldn't even fit there.
Katie was such a cutie. Tom entertained me as a 15 yr old. In 1978. One of the best ever bands of that time period. There were so many then. Unlike today.
They're on FIRE here, ... but as usual, Network TV turns the volume down too low on Tom's mic/vocals, so the lyrical verses can't be heard quite as easily. I guess they didn't like Tom using the ghastly phrase "dancing naked" during his intro very much.
Tom , Roy Orbison and George Harrison / the Wilburys in heaven
Lots of strings on Tom's guitar. I think. I counted 7 or 9. Nope it s 10. Maybe 8. There goes the last D J!
Interesting, they dropped the whole song from E to D, a whole step.
They’d been up all night I guess.
