Replacing a Trailer Fender (Karavan 6 x 12)

*Someone* managed to drive the trailer into a gas pump guard (most certainmly not me, nope, nope nope) and broke it badly enough to need replacement. Aftermarket trailer parts are available online, but do beware.
Draining the water in the burned house

Winter is coming, and there is no heat in the house. To help mitigate any freeze damage, I had to go in and drain the plumbing and the boiler.
Two-stage compact Fog Chiller
Просмотров 77Месяц назад
What would be better for a spooky cemetery than a low-lying creepy fog? I don't usually get a chance to have a big space for decorating, so I'm going in big this year. I came across some really good designs this year, with one that seemed spot-on with what I wanted to try. His design used an ultrasonic mister on steroids with no ice needed. I wanted to try adding a layer of ice to see if I coul...

Halloween setup, part one

Yes, I know it's a late start. I blame the fire, and needing to be up north for a week. At the new temporary place. There's a front yard, it's across from a STEM elementary school. I heard from a neighbor that the TOTs are abundant, so I'm gonna need to stock up on candy. It's been a while. Making some changes and additions this year. I think this is important to me because it lets me feel like...
New office chaos, apologies for the echo/reverb
Просмотров 8Месяц назад
Still trying to adjust to a new space. The office is technically a bedroom, but it's about 9 feet by 9 feet with a tiny closet space, and that's a good size for a workspace. It's also where the fiber comes in, so all of my networking equipment is right here and I don't need to run ethernet cables everywhere. I'm surprised at how much of an adjustment it is. I'm used to hotels and relatively sho...

Back to the Cities

Finally secured a rental house, and made the trip to the new place. This is a slice of that journey. We've been adjusting to the new place, getting the things that we need to function, trying to get all of the stuff that wasn't ready yet fixed, and generally adjusting to a new place. There will be more, this is really all I had time for. It's been an incredibly busy week.
Hot sauce ferments 2024

A more detailed look at the process of making a lacto-fermented hot pepper sauce. I'm using pickling salt. It's a fine-grain salt that dissolves easily and is made for this sort of thing. Mostly an update. With dogs.

There was an electrical fire in mid-August. Nobody was harmed, the dogs are fine, but it's a pretty major loss that will take many months to rebuild. The house is being gutted, all the infrastructure needs to be brought up to code with a 100 -year-old house. As you may guess, that's not cheap, nor will it be quick. Current estimate is 9 months minimum. I lost a lot of stuff. The immediate needs...
Harbor Freight winch vs. Tree stump.

We needed to remove a stump left over from cutting down a fairly sizeable tree, and it was turning out to be a serious PITA with a huge root system. We had the winch cart from the Drag Rake video. What could go wrong? Things didn't go as planned...

Cleaning a dryer vent, first time in 30 years
Thank you. Light box assembly and system has been massively updated. Wires pre-sewn in and other attachment improvements. My entire device setup was 10 minutes or less, hassle free. Quite impressed!
The bird looked very good. Bummer it wasn't up to what you were hoping for. How did the stuffing loaf turn-out? That's a really cool idea as I'm always looking for more stuffing/dressing!
@VegasWayneW stuffing was also "meh". Didn't have the spices i wanted, and was too moist and mushy. It was more a symbolic gesture.
@@magic.marmot Bummer. Still seemed like an interesting approach to use. Possbily worth furture exploration. I'd be a willing taste tester... :-)
When your trailer is heavily loaded and it sags a lot, can you still release the jack? It will be under great loading.
Done is done!
I'm glad you were able to get it drained. I guess I'm surprised at the state of the house. My assumptions of what insurance does and how quickly after a fire are clearly off. *hugs*
Have you looked at SaveAJack? You can remove them for more clearance
What a terrible mess, sorry for your loss.
Things will work out, they always do. Blessings
Glad I found this. Just bought a used ninebot cheap. Was expecting to have to replace battery.
Rob, you need to edit this as you show us you ladder and tool gymnastics but fail to discuss the short in the replaced section of wire.
So, how was the pepper mash? What a tease! Hopefully the security is for peace of mind and you've not had problems. I was wondering if you were going to rig a motion sensor-based response to scare folks away when you didn't want them there... :-)
It's looking good. Are you going to record the TOT's for a video? Please? 🙂
I watched a YT video about [Karavan's Tie Down kit for 5" frame (D-rings with 1/2 x 6 inch bolts)], available at TSC or cheaper if you shop online somewhere else. My 2021 Karavan 5x8 has four predrilled holes on each side with plastic caps on top, but my trailers has 3" frame. So I bought 4-pack of V-ring bolt on anchors and will get some bolts at Lowe's. I didn't even know there were already holes in the trailer for anchors.
Furnace good! Glad to see you're getting settled. You'll have to charge back the landlord for all the improvements you've made! Met any of the neighbors yet? That's important to ask what sort of Halloween candy stash you should have on hand! 🙂
Just wanted to let you know that the firefly you are working on is manufactured in the US the company that makes it is Berkeley California
After removing my battery and pressing the "Reset" button, I get 8 red flashes, 1 longer red flash then it turns off. The pack reads 41V though. any idea what the problem would be?
@theruckusdj no clue. Definitely sounds like a fault condition, but I don't know the codes. I'd check to see if the individual cells are balanced, but if it's at 41v, it sounds like they're at least top balanced.
So, how much are you charging the landlord for all the basic maintenance you're doing? 🙂
Nice win!
I'm glad to see you're in a place that looks like it'll be good for the four of you. Looking forward to seeing more!
@10:36 is when you start tripping off those over fermented peppers..
@9:55 must be the seeason of the haaatch
good video. interesting use of vacuum in ferments. dry heat toast the cumin seed in a pan to open it. same with coriander.
Cider - Yum!
@@VegasWayneW I hope.
Thanks for the update. The brush cleared from the shore really makes that area look nice!
Woohoo! Magic Fridge!
Так нельзя делать. Расхождение в 0.03 вольта сожгет BMS.
Он работает уже больше года.
I'm glad you were able to get a little dirt therapy. Here's hoping for a long fall so you can get your heat on!
Had the same "fun" you had at 4:44, trying to unlink the z bend carb throttle thing... Seem like they might be bending the tip making it hard to remove unless you undo all linkage
All that baggage gone. Finally free. Hit the road Jack. Japan. NZ. Italy. Have a few years to yourself.
I lost everything in a house fire 11 years ago
Glad you're safe, hope things go smoothly in getting yourself back together.
Sucks to suck. Here is a tip don’t put your personal life online. Good luck, loser
Great to see that the concept worked. I wonder if waiting until the spring before everything grows back in so thick that it might be easier to get the catail roots out. I'm sure the dogs will love a little swim area.
I love the dirt cyclone. Cool idea. Much nicer than being face planted with a scoop to get the bottom of the hole cleared out!
I fix things. I make things. And I like dogs.
There is NO beryllium oxide in any domestic microwave oven magnetrons, that's a myth.
It's more to teach Tyson safety than anything. I'm okay with old wives' tails if it teaches him respect for safety.
Looking forward to Rake vs Reed part 2!
@@VegasWayneW Saturday the 10th. :)
How do I meet a friend like this? You're awesome
Gosh, thanks. Just trying to make a difference.
You want a welder to help?
@@ChaseP84 for the next one, sure!
Any luck accessing the ecu to raise the top speed?
@UNIVERSEITI nope. Completely potted. Also, Chinese manufacturer, proprietary software controls. Also, the existing firmware has limits for safety that I'm not going to attempt to subvert. Ron is my friend. He's already trusting me with his main mobility machine. If you were to attempt something like this, I'd suggest unplugging the wheel unit and plugging it into your own controller. That way, you can do what you want and assume the risk. And shoot video, I wanna see.
Good luck with the dust sheep that will most certainly be released in the next phase of the project!
I am ashamed that I haven't yet dealt with this. Other, more broken things have taken precedence. There will be another story for that.
Nice update. Great to see the stairs to the river being rebuilt. That'll make it so much easier to enjoy the river view.
Great to see the conclusion of the vent project. I guess I should have caught up on all the vids before commenting there... :-) Hopefully the deck survives the pressure washing. If it flakes that much using air, it might not stand a chance with pressurized water!
That's a cool little tool for vent cleaning. We may need to look at that as we have a long dryer run imbedded in the slab. No problems with it yet, but... Did you run the dryer just to see how much other stuff it might have kicked out by itself? Seems like you've at least cleared some of the jam. Well done!
The battery from my e25e is flashing blue light, but de voltage is only 3.5 volts. Also as i charge my battery de lights from the charger is flashing red and blue. Do you now what the problem is?
No, but if you check the manufacturers website you may be able to find that information. Flashing blue and red sounds like an error condition, but I have no idea what it means. If the whole pack is reading 3.5 volts and that's not per-cell, it sounds like the pack is dead.
@@magic.marmot the pack is not dead because in the inside of the battery is reading 39.9 volts and the 2 conectors that go into de controller of the scooter read 3,5 volts, do you now what I can do? Do you now what the problem is?
@@jafeth1195 My suspicion is that the BMS has an issue. It may need to be awakened, but I know nothing about the pack and can't really help.
Speed the video up 2x and it’s watchable. Otherwise it’s a slow death by drips.
Thanks, I do that myself for skimming content. I'm still learning, but I'm getting better.
it seems a bad product.
It's more of a niche product. I'm still using it for some special stuff, and it excels at that.
Wow, that's a lot of dogs and a lot of fantastic progress! Congrats on the new job!
So many doggies!
Much chaos.
Violating the NEC using Romex, this is how you burn your house down.
This is the stuff I discovered when we were trying to fix other problems. A lot of things were "fixed" without permits being pulled.
SUGGESTION: get a HEAD-MOUNT Camera ! COOP ...
I'd love to. When my gear budget allows.
