When I was a pantser writer I always started at the beginning until I reached the end. Always kinda seemed to work for me, but, then, I only ever wrote short stories and poems because I don't write long fiction as it requires too much planning.

This is so true, I hated never knowing what to refer my creative business to.

The funny thing is I’m learning soon in my semester how to write a theatre script so I’ve been binge watching your videos writing my script idea for 10 pages which I done the first draft.

Worldbuilding slips depending on a book's portion are more relatable than I care to admit. :/

When it comes to writing as a career, time is your friend, not your enemy. It's great that you've moved away from expecting perfection ... one generation's perfect is another generation's "what the hell is this dinosaur shit", so whatever version of the story you're happy with will become the best version at whatever point the most people feel the same. If that makes sense.

Ooh...what if I'm not as good a judge of what's good or bad words as I think I am? I resonated with that. I love how you said basically that if we can do it with other books, we can do it with our own. Also love everything you said about perfect words vs. finding the words that are true to you and your story.

Feel you on that part about wondering if you can write a good novel in a year on your first attempt. Feeling just as ambitious with my current project. Want to have it pretty much done by end of next year while drafting the others in the standalone series next year too. Not sure if I'll publish it as soon as I feel it's done or wait til the following year to actual put it out into the world.

I started writing in 2008 (right after I finished Breaking Dawn and decided I was finally going to write my own book, lol), and I have definitely improved my craft over the years. But I still go through periods where I feel that I'm a terrible writer and why am I still even trying? It's verrrrrrry annoying. So I'm loving watching you on this journey, and seeing your updates and progress. I'll be thrilled to add you to my shelves one day!

I prefer to do everything digitally, and by that, I mean exporting out the manuscript as a PDF file and then, using a PDF editor like Adobe Acrobat, I will be able to highlight and annotate. These are basic functions so they are included in the free version. I suppose professionals would purchase the subscription plan, but me, the free version works fine. It is possible to import the PDF into Goodnotes, but the Goodnote free version puts a limit on the file size. So, if your document is relatively small, then you can import the whole thing into Goodnotes and take notes on your own work digitally. Another way is to upload the whole manuscript to Google Docs and share the manuscript with another person (an editor perhaps), and the second person will check it out. Of course, if you do have money to spare for a printed manuscript and you prefer to do everything on physical paper, then there is no one stopping you.
