Rifle Paint Job Tutorial - Sagebrush Aero M5/Criterion
I re-uploaded this video because the first one's quality was crap. This one should look a lot better.
This is a quick tutorial on how to rattlecan your rifle so that it effectively blends in with your chosen environment. I wanted my rifle to blend with the local sagebrush here in Utah, so this is how I did it.
Tools:
-Chosen spray paint colors (flat or matte only)
-Masking tape (cover the important stuff)
-Mesh laundry bag

-Sea sponge (find at Walmart)
-Paper plates
-Your inner Da Vinci

Here’s the deal. I tried out a Spear LT lower on my Virtus upper, and was hooked. So, I purchased a Teal Blue Bravo PDQ, a dremel, watched some RUclips tutorials, and went to town. I see your silencerco barrel has a nice beefy shoulder for the suppressor piston to mate to. I got a brand new gold threaded barrel from sig, threaded my obsidian 9 onto it and it destroyed the barrel. The piston dug into the thicker part of the barrel cause it doesnt really have a shoulder. All barrels on sigs website are like this. I ruined the gold barrel, rugged said I needed an internal shoulder piston so it would mate with muzzle instead. Paid 80$ for that piston, and 250 for another barrel and it did the same thing. The thread depth is too deep and it doesnt mate with the muzzle before digging into the barrel. I ordered the griffin ez lok so hoping that doesnt dig into the barrel as well. It looks pretty shallow so im optimistic.

You had mentioned 25 yard zero. Check out the max point blank range zero (MPBR) and itll change the way you zero nearly everything. The military has specific ranges they zero because they have 1 weapon system shooting 1 load so 25 or 50 yards or whatever has been determined to be the best for their setups. Point blank range zeros lets you customize your zero for your specific rifle setup and what size target you always wanna be able to hit, no matter the range, out to several hundred yards usually. For example, my 300blk is zeroed for 43 yards. This allows me to hit a 4 inch circle (heart size ish?) from 16 yards to 200 yards without having to range the target or think about it, the shot will always land either dead center or + or - 2 inches. When I get closer than 16 yards, since I have a tall Unity riser on my red dot for this rifle, I know my max hold off is 3.5 inches as that's the height of my mount, so essentially, hold bottom of the circle at room clearing distances, as you mentioned. 16-200yds, hold dead center and hit within a 4 inch circle. shooterscalculator.com/point-blank-range.php is a simple calculator for this or if you dont wanna trust my link, google max point blank range calc and ull see that link near the top. I use this for essentially every firearm, rifle or pistol, that has a dot on it and can even be used on iron sights. Scopes are a different story for the most part, if you know what your doing. Can be used on scoped hunting rifles for people who dont know what they're doing and just wanna be able to point and shoot, no matter the range, generally below 300yds. Calculation is based on bullet specifics including bullet speed from your actual firearm, sight height and target size you wish to hit (generally the vitals size your aiming for). Zero for the close zero it gives you.
