DIY Trangia single drawstring bag + FREE PRINTABLE
This is an updated version of the original double drawstring bag. This version is less faf to get the trangia in and simpler to open and close.
Trangia sell bags for their iconic cooking system that feel like they were an afterthought. There are a bunch of diy Trangia bags online however non of them spoke to me. This is my v2. Any questions please leave them in the comments below and ill get back to you.
If I ever have the honor of Trangia reading this, wax canvas feels very appropriate material for your stove bags and brand, just my two cents.

      Took me ages to find one that could swing in and out so i dont need to rebuild the plate every time i need to do edging. Had to drill a hole in the plate to have it located and not come out when in use. Its going to be different for each machine though. send me an email and ill see if i can locate the one i bought. (email on our website).

    5:04 Hi, I think your video is really great, it conveys the technique of sewing technical textiles yourself very well. I think I know a tool that will help you in many situations. It comes from the bookbinding trade and is called a folding bone. They are available in different materials, many are made of plastic, but the really good ones are made of bovine bone, which has the advantage that the materials do not become electrostatically charged.

    Bit of a noob, can I ask what thread you are using, mine never seems tough enough? Also, you use a lighter a lot, is that because all your fabrics are plastic based and hence its to ‘seal’ them?

    • @rekkiworks
      @rekkiworks 6 месяцев назад

      I use a 3ply 250Den nylon thread for materials that are more than 180g/m2 (no formula, thats just what i do). For lighter fabrics i use 3ply 150Den. I use the lighter to melt the ends of thread and the ends of webbing, not the fabric.

  • @rzhooker
    @rzhooker 6 месяцев назад

    On the faster machine it didn’t look like you always back stitch to lock the thread, is there a reason why?

    • @rekkiworks
      @rekkiworks 6 месяцев назад

      Some times its not needed to back tack eg. when a seam gets folded back on its self and then stitched down.

    • @rekkiworks

      The one in the video is made with 5oz dyneema. It does have that stiffer feel to it which is great for drybags as they can stay upright while stuffing them rather than flopping over.

      This was done to create more volume as the intention was to hold a water bladder.
