Legendary console. The colossal jump from PS1 wasn’t quite replicated since, I think.
back then when pc gaming wasn't as popular, console gaming was where its at
One of the greatest moments in human history.
Man I remember this day I couldn't afford it. I was in the 10th grade. A kid from school said he had one, and let's just say we left school early to go break in his house to take his 😂 sad days, but true
@icestormcrocodilefog yes I'm black you could tell....I didn't shoot the school up 😂😂😂😂
that dude is weird, he said hes going to go to sleep then wake up and sell it. im guessing he was scalping? makes no sense to buy it then sell it.
People were so much then, I wonder what happened.
The enthusiasm what undefeated back then 😢 i miss the old days
I still think the ps2 console is one of the best consoles to this day, and with how cheap it is its still used around the world. And this is excluding the modding capabilities of the playstation 2 among the small but dedicated communities that still play ps2 online. Theres a lot of games on the ps2 that still hold up to this day, some being the best videogames of all time. And i still have a dvd collection, so the ps2 is viable because of it. Its either that or the fat first gen playstation 3s
Ah, back when the world made sense.
Back when showing your receipt to the employee as you exit the building wasn’t a controversial topic
No people scalping, nobody fighting, nobody constantly recording onto tiktok or some other social media platform... Damn. I was only 10 at that time, but I bet this experience was a real treat for those people.
First year of high school for me! I remember going to a store and they had gamecube and xbox stalls where you could play those consoles and demo games. Fun times. However, I enjoy our time as well! There are always new and even better memories to make! Do not live in the past! Peace.
Says you
just got x21 ps2s slims x2 brand new sealed 🩵
The guy with the Majora's mask at the beginning 😂😂😂
Thise young people turn today in old farts
Gaming has gone to crap compared to then
"Who's running for president" little did they know
That one guy 😂😂 Best buy employee: enjoy your game man Ginger guy: you too
I wasnt even born damm. I wish i had a blue box just like it. that thing looking guuuda
Back then when everything was cheap and I was only 10 years old
All these people being interviewed are in there 40’s now
And still alive Who knows
My big bro is this generation (41) I'm 28. Ps2 still works great, it's just next to me , I'm gonna play today a bit for nostalgia.
@@alex.l5732 just got x21 ps2s slims x2 brand new sealed 🩵
“All ThE PeOpLe BeIng IntErVieWed aRe iN tHeIr 40’s NoW.” Stop👏 it 👏 I was a freshman in high school back in 2000 and you’re starting to make me feel old lol. I definitely remember being in one of those lines when both the PS2 and GameCube dropped 😂
Hopefully. So much BS happened since 2000. We're truly blessed to be here to reminisce.
We had so little, and we were so happy
People were more humble back then.
@@thaistomp we gotta admit that gaming culture as a whole was simply better and less cringe
@@gabbo004 Not just gaming. Society was better in general back then
I wish I was there at that time
😭😭 i wish i go back to those days
the best era
PS2 didn't launch with Internet capabilities bro, that came almost two years later after launch.
The network adapter didn't get released Until 2002
It was a talked about in magazines way before launch.
I miss the old Best Buy. You walk in one now and they look like a knockoff sharper image.
I miss these days. People where at least respectful. Now they would charge in the store like nuts running people over.
Such happy faces😄
No one getting mad at someone recording is great times
Hey kids look at your dad’s doing that day
absolute cringe, i can smell them through the screen
GET ER DONE!!!!
I love this Era I wanna go back
0:30 yes real very real and 2023 how is ps4 graphics shit ps5 is better bla bla
I miss these days. Life was way more chill.
Fr bro I remember always going to Kmart and just looking at ps2 games lol I really wanted ratchet and clank, good times 💯
No wokeness... like 0% wokeness
When the world was still normal. Lol.
Fr I wasn’t even born yet, so much more chill.
What are you talking about? These were miserable times you had to wait in line for like 12 days I bought my PS five from my bed while eating a greasy half live chicken wing the entire thing took 3 minutes to get
Good times.....
No doubt!
My man got SSX and Armored Core 2 what a Chad
Man legit said the graphics look real 😂. Fast forward to 2024....🤣
Lol y’all styll getting stiffed except now it’s $600 vs $199-299 and $30 games vs $80-100 games back then 😂 But y’all can keep your “graphics” and boring games lol PC 4K/60FPS for old classics every day 💵💯👌🏽👌🏽
When i was a kid playing gta san andreas i thought the graphics was real
@@dariusabracia5304 lol stop I was 8-9 and I knew it didn’t look real and if it did for you guys no wonder why new gen gaming sucks but accepted for graphics haha! I guess each brain interprets different indeed 👊🏽
That time im 6-7 years old i remember the graphics is shitt but when i was a kid it look like the definitive edition
@@hakasonma8588got a real edgelord here telling it how it is lol… 🤣 🤡
0:30 “Are the graphics on it dramatically better?…” “Dramatically! Almost real! If we were standing 6 ft away from it, it looks real.” *Ohhhh how times have changed* 😂
Nope my Xbox Series X and PS5 not 4K so siting 1m away from my 65” 4K those things look like overpriced PS4 Pros with silent fans and quick boot 😂😂 Maybe in 2030 y’all will get Low TRUE 4K but by then the TVs might be 8K-16K resolution hahaha
@@hakasonma8588consoles are always behind 💯% of the time for 1 costs and 2 low graphics with squeezing the most out of the hardware. That’s consoles speed, it took them until 2020 to figure out what an SSD was 😂

$299 release date price ($199 when sales hit) compared to $700 in 2023 for consoles with worse games and $100 incomplete games to spend another $100 and 100 hours to unlocked your own “fun”? How times have changed - $200 consoles with $30 games that were fun to $700 consoles and $100 games that are boring... but hey we represent everyone now right!?
You must not be the age to have been alive then as that was a lot of fkn money! Also currency rates need to be taken into account…don’t get it twisted this shit has always been expensive. With each new generation you get better hardware and software of course prices change but don’t act it was like the 50s when you go to town on the bus watch a movies get fries and hotdog with a drink buy some smokes and still have change left over!
@@alexythimia23 eh, in middles school and high school 2006-2009 I was buying patties for $1 and pop for $0.70 and bus was $2 ($0.70 when I came to North America) Edit to add: I bought donuts for $0.70 coffee -$1 McDoubles cheeseburger for $1 movie ticket for $6 bag of chips for $1.50-2 get big pizza slice and a pop for $3.50 lol trust me I miss those prices even if not the 50s So when PS2 was $299 and $199 on holiday sale the first year out, compared to $600 “sale” prices now doesn’t matter if you add inflation and those fakes excuses, no one is getting no where near the fun $200 got you back in 2000s compared to $500-700 consoles... hell there are handheld consoles now that are $1500+ just to put it into perspective... The games... may look more “advanced” but boy are the developers a bunch of amateurs using AI and older archive with shared assets.. cutting down the cost of games seeing as everything is the same engine and shared databases and copy/repeat game releases... paying $85-100 per game (bare bone game now you pay to finish any of them or play a portion of the software) and soon to be $1000 home consoles... it’s crazy to think anyone can defend the trash that is today seeing quality stuff like these videos and then thinking it’s okay to “grind” for you paid-for ish in game Seeing how my mom was broke and saw $30 priced PS2 games she would’ve never ever got me a console at the prices these days and $100 games in my currency lol
@@alexythimia23 lol I was alive bro, it’s why I hate gaming so much in 2024 and literally this year’s first COD I am not buying as well (but funny because MS made it free, writing must have been on the wall) it’s boring, made for weird people and expensive for nothing (I’ve paid full price on day one games, to be forced to be a female, some lame JW story or flat out training camp for politics and never play the $100 games again) I bought PS4 with my own money right at 18, after the initial sold out period was over, got the PS4 Pro day 1 $499+ and that was a jump for consoles (heck in Canada my mom wouldn’t buy me $49 PS2 games, by PS3 they told us $69.99 because more space, then PS4 $79.99 and now PS5 is at $89.99) so when I saw PS5 price it reminded why I should stop the consoles... though I have Xbox series S and X, it’s literally a PS4 Pro that’s silent with an SSD, it still upscale they just don’t call it checkerboard anymore lC except soon the PS5 Pro will use AI like pc... upscale.. which means DEVS won’t work hard because... you guessed it, upscale. So now they’re releasing their “refreshed console” only to fetch a higher price and keep it up there. I was on iPhone 4 when everyone was team Blackberry cause $750 Canadian was too much, then it went $850 and now your base model is $1000+ and the full iPhone is $1500+ LOL Everyone is copying Apple, they want a trillion dollars too and then people like you justify it... and wonder why everything is getting expensive, I can tell you when those “old people” were in charge of the world, they demanded value for money, so companies worked like dogs, now we work like dogs to get their stuff and increase their value 😂 Sorry, baked af and seeing everything that used to be nice tarnished by young cat ignorance causes rants 💨💨
It took less than two minutes to convert inflation from 2000 to 2020 (ps5 release date). The MSRP of a PS2 on release was $300 ($450 CAD), which was equivalent to $450 ($650 CAD). A PS5 on release was $500 and $400 for digital-only ($629/500 CAD). No Idea where you even got that $700 price tag from. Most AAA PS2 titles on release were $50, equivalent to $70 in 2020 and $85 in 2024. $30 were greatest hit games which were old by the time they got that moniker. Standard PS5 games are $60-70. Complaining about gaming in 2024, look up how much cartridge games were back in the day. An SNES was $200 with $60-$80 games in 1992. That's $380 USD at $130-180 per game.
@@JK-gw9jb $649.99 CAD for the FULL version none of that digital non sense plus tax which puts you well over $700 and no it’s not inflation how you guys just bought into that as young people I will never understand but as someone who was poor, I can tell you PS2 was still high price at $199 CAD in 2003-2007 and PS3 only became famous when it was $299 CAD when it came out in 2005 my friends cousin had it day one $500 like you said but that was PS2 + PS3 in 1 console and has many memory card ports and even could play free games if you unlocked it... compared to the final PS3 versions PS4 @ $399 was okay but they would’ve sold better at a lower price but PS3 was still popular so what happened was they had to up the price to make it look better upgrade PS5 is going to be 5 years into its life soon and NO discount we’re on slim edition already and nothing... PS5 Pro will be even higher but PS4 day 1 at $399 vs PS4 Pro at $499 is more comparable I can only imagine the PS5 Pro seeing how I have a $1500 handheld console they know people will pay up like goofs
2023 the internet is the reason you are banned 😂
Better times
Dude called it....internets here forever.....called it back all the way in 2000dudes prob a billionaire now
Lol what? Bro the people who created internet made it for that purpose, in their mind it would remain alive even if we nuked ourselves to oblivion but never realized we needed power to keep it running 😂 So no, not forever assuming we run out of power to keep it running LOL
@@hakasonma8588 My main issue with you is that you probably think you sound smart.
@@Arab_Atheist lol what are you on hahaha This cat said Internet was called back then when they literally made it to be something that no one could control or die in case of a full blown world war again... Hence why companies push data servers to essentially control the data we see on the internet vs the internet itself, what’s assuming the individual has access to the internet in the first place 😂 Ask anyone over 50 when they first played online for videos games, you’ll be surprised it wasn’t Xbox Live
That makes zero sense but ok
Guess u nerds don't understand when someone's bein smart......common sense....cooooommon sssseeeddnse....smh
And now we need to play lotto for a new consoles in amazon cuz reseller gonna buy out in store ahead of us anyway lol.
On top of creating accounts, requiring internet, download updates and games before even getting to access a new console... assuming your even managed to get one... and can afford $700 cash up front compared to 2000s for $200-300 and going home to plug-in, pop in new games and play 😂
I’m 39 I gamed with Atari 1st n64 was the 1st console I got day 1 but ps2 was the best console ever
40 year old here and I started on my uncles atari 2600 then blown away by an NES..then SNES n64 and ps2 then xbox...bit xbox 360 was what really blew me out of the water and games haven't really improved much since. Max payne and doa2 are games that still hold up but it's the ps2 and xbox 360 gen that's really the last and best major upgrade
"graphics are so good if im standing 6 feet away it looks real" 🗿wise words
Well PS5 is the same and Xbox Series X... maybe in 2030 we’ll reach Low True 4K when we have 16K TVs? 😂 If mini PC do not hit 4K settings at the same console prices soon... y’all gunna have to keep standing 6ft away for a long time lol
@@hakasonma8588 I honestly don't see why we need to make resolution any higher yet 8k is technically a thing
@@gggumball well when I got my 4K TV I also got the last 3D TV made and future proof (all current tech my TV has except 120hz) but when I first started seeing RUclips, he’ll even Netflix had a 4K HDR specific section and movies it looked amazing! Running Black Ops 3 intro on PS4 Pro made my kids mom puke and cry (TV is 65 inch but also had this 3D popping out feel from pixel density) and to this day I haven’t seen a new TV even more expensive than mine beat it ($5K) as all manufacturing went down hill and they started selling lower tiers for what used to be the old high tiers... And then 4K became soft looking, compressed hell I don’t even know the difference on streaming apps anymore and PS5/Xbox Series X are all upscaled/checkerboard around 1440p and sold as 4K... so no one can tell the difference from 1080p to 4K games because 4K became a pass to be lazy and do crappy work because of the higher res! Sorry for the rent I just realized how old I feel around 30 years old and how much better the low resolution stuff was back in the day!
Dude, the year is 2000. Just think about the technology and gap from that era and from today.
@@fried.rooster06 the advancement of tech in general between 1994 -> 2000 was much greater than say the last 6 years, many breakthroughs around that time.

Perks include a more versatile machine, not having to pay for online gaming, better prices, greater selection, and you can say all the vile words you want.
