I never quite understood what those wise, true, inspiring and beautiful words meant until now, seeing this program. Thank you Ms. Gold for your beauty, creativity and talent. Thank you for sharing your art and athleticism with the world. Your program was lovely, enchanting and inspirational and beautifully elegant and artistic. Very daring and ambitious music and program chose too and you skate and live up to it with beauty, daring, musicality, technicality and strength. Thanks for sharing such a buoyantly elegant and beautifully lyrical program. The costume is fabulously glamorous and radiant, and the black gloves are an exquisite and dashing touch. It is absolutely ridiculous. She would have been the number one American lady for the next few years. What is it about this sport that hurt her heart so much that she retired at 16? I can't get over this. I understand the Russian girls retiring young because they get pushed out of the way by younger girls nobody is going to push Alysa out of the way in America. She would have dominated American lady figure skating for several years but said screw it. Sad. And on top of everything she's so beautiful with an incredible personality that personality that translates to figure skating.

Idk why people keep saying she doesn’t love skating anymore, cause I don’t think that’s the case. She has struggled a lot mentally, and if she didn’t LOVE skating and want to continue, then she wouldn’t. I think she just needs to find her groove when it comes to competitions, because I think she tends to tense up. I am so proud of her for staying strong though!
I'm so happy that she's following her heart and skating again.

it's a shame Ice Capades doesn't exist anymore. She'd be great for it. Once you're out of medals, there's no where for you to go except coach or commentary. The 90s really killed skating.
Gracie I am sure you stopped reading comments long ago but in case you do read them please read this. You have all the talent in the world. I believe in you and have never stopped. You are lovely. Watch King Richard and get inspired. You can do it. Let the beautiful music take you away because when you do you my dear you are unstoppable.
This is most certainly, an eye opener. I nearly fell asleep watching the other figure skater, sluggishly made her attempt trying to perform. Alysa Liu really has a huge attitude, something that the other figure skater doesn't even have. Yes, ma'am. This is definitely much better than the other figure skater.
Who was the other figure skater? Alysa is retired now and hates her sport. She is 16 and so good and so likable and said to hell with it. Sad.
I wasn't certain if she was taking sabbatical from her skating since she had so much problem with the stress. She's definitely not the same skater she was before all of this happening to her.
I love Gracie and always will. Neither piece of music really suits her style IMO and she doesn't really inhabit the program or let the music carry her though. The dresses are beautiful and she presents well artistically. (Although I'm not sure what was up with the black gloves - I think she forget to take them off from the warm-up.) She looks to be at a comfortable, healthy weight. I admire her determination and grit. She will either break through at some point or she will know when it's time to walk away. I support her no matter what.

@@Lilac1543 support should be realistic. I don't see the point in encouraging someone who missed their calling. Yes I know it's not her fault. She should have been the bronze Olympic medalist in 2014. But the sotnikova scandal happend.
@@Jeremy-wp4yh Seriously? She's getting back out there for herself. To go out on her terms. I don't see her as missing her calling. She has an Olympic medal. She battled depression and an eating disorer and put herself back out there. She's seeing if this can take her somewhere. Who's to say it isn't realistic? It's not like she's 26 years old and just learning how to skate for the first time and then expecting to be an Olympian in 4 years. She battled herself out of a will to live to come back to compete. If this helps her in her recovery process, then it seems very realistic to me.
@@Lilac1543 just because something might be part of her recovery, doesn't mean she's going to be a good competitor. She downgrades her jumps to doubles. That is junior level skating.
I think she Will be our gold medal on Beijing 2022. Second Will be Loena Hendrickx Third Alysa liu or elizaveta Tuktamysheva. But the next olympic Games i think we wont see an Eteri girl on the podium

I admire Gracie's determination but to take a line from "The Cutting Edge": "I'd think you'd skate even better if you let yourself enjoy it a little." She just doesn't look like she's having any fun out there. She's her own worst critic. :(
It's really heartbreaking too because she was so determined to make a successful comeback and be happy in this sport again and it's just not working out.
