First, I respect any USN Ship. AE-30 VIRGO, you did a job that was necessary, thank you. I was in Philippines 78 - 80 on Constellation CV64 and thought Shit River was funny. Not anymore, feel sorry for those Kids. HOTTEST WOMEN on the Planet (Mix Asian, Spanish, USA) Thank you so much on your video, showing Olongapo City
I still have my signed 'night-off' paper from the bar in 1983. Also, this is the first vid with Shit River footage.
I was surprised when I originally got the film back and the water looked so clean and clear, lol. My eyes would water walking across the bridge.
I was there several times 1980-1983. USS GURNARD and USS MOUNT VERNON. Thanks for sharing! Good times.
You must have a big banana tool, as well I guess.
THIS WAS MY SHIP STATION OUT OF TREASURE ISLAND
PETE THIS WAS MY SHIP SMALLEST IN THE NAVY SEA LEGS
One of my friends was a Marine MP there and he said that after 3 years he had forgotten how to shine boots, press uniforms and all that stuff. The week before he was to leave he was hit by a drunk sailor driving a jeep and wound up getting a medical discharge as an SSG. Today is a retired college professor with a PhD in Archeology and we still make jokes about stuff, we went to a wake for a friend of ours and I hadn't seen him in years. He looks at me and leans in and says, "Look at the tables, I wonder if we could get a game of smiles going?"
Was in Subic several times in 67 & 67 on board USS Vega AF 59. Olongapo was unbelievable place for Liberty. The King Kong bar was our favorite place to unwind

What a fabulous liberty port, we would literally have contests on who could rack up the most “short times” in a day… oh to be young and in the PI again…
OH THE DANCING!!!😮
USS Hancock CVA-19. Hung out in the Magic Glow bar with my buddies. Many good times.
Those were some moves those sailors had on the dance floor. Guess you couldn't really fit them into any category. All good. 😅 USS Chicago 1974

Shit river
I think it's hotter in Subic now than it was back then. I was there 5 days ago and the heat was hardly bareable. No way could I wear a uniform there. You'd be drenched in sweat. At night it's in the mid 90's f.
Girls,Girls,Girls!
1974 1976 uss long Beach cgn-9 two west pack " mid rat cook " the best.
I was station dito from March 1987- April 1989; oh so much fun there as a young sailor and seen so many Amerasian kids there and some of the kids I can tell who the fathers are. I seen some of them working in the bars and resturants there. I left there as a single guy and made sure i didn't leave any souvenoir babies there. I know of other shipboard sailors that left alot of Amerasian kids there from very young sailors/marines there.
Spent 1,5 years aboard MSO505 (M623 Baccarat) beetwin Jan 92/ and middle of 93

Great video of my memories in Olongapo City 80-'84, married, still visit. Brown Fox before it burned down, Apple Club with its hallway entrance, 125th st Jazz, Shakey's Pizza, bar hopping on Magsaysay Dr and left to Rizal Ave "Jungle" it was nicknamed then, right to Victory Liner, I could go on, damn great fun and friendly people and great young ladies, ha got lucky and married a SM Shoe Mart cashier!Robert here, DOD in Subic Bay.
Ah yes-the Brown Fox. Consumed a few San Magoo's there & met a lady there also ! And Shakey's-ate in thers a few times. Head up Magsaysay to the traffic circle-take a right up to the open air market at Bahac Bahac-take a left at that circle & head out on the road to Subic-that's where she lived-overlooking Gapo. Our mid DET "break" NAS Cubi Point Dec. 1981.
Interesting to see the past. I'm an American living in Subic freeport zone/Olongapo area now. This explains why the police and firemen all know my name and ask me questions. It's a family friendly vacation zone now. Times have changed for the better IMHO.
what year???
'67 and '68.
Uniform liberty
I was there in 1978 for a year
I was there for a year I had the time of my life
got there 4-5 years later...probably the same girls!
Was there in 1988 USS Nimitz there first time there. After my tour on the Nimitz l got orders to Cubi Pt. Subic. 89-92. The last 3 years it was open. I got married to one of them but my marriage lasted about 7 years. I never married again. Mt Pinatubo blew up it was scary completely dark in the middle of the day. Ground shaking. What a mess it left.
My grandfather was a 1st class boatswain's mate on a minesweeper during ww2
thank you for sharing this my bro… i hope you guys had a great time here…
Enjoyed Olongapo in 68,69. Served aboard the U.S.S Everett F. Larson DD 830. This was my most favorite duty station overseas. This ship was in the South China Sea on June 4th. when the carrier from Australia, HMS Melbourne collided with the Frank E. Evans DD 754 cutting her completely in half between the stacks. 74 sailors I believe went down with her. The Everett F. Larson tied up to the stern to keep it floating until an ocean-going tug from Subic got to the scene to tow the remains back to the base. Later the stern was used for target practice and sinker out side of the channel on a barrier.
Hi sir,is there other ship that's pulling inn Philippines subic bay that you still can remember???
Four (4) continuous Westpac's USS ENTERPRISE (ships co. then squadron)
Sure wished they had some good flicks to trade .
