I have answer your question with a cliche, because I got really into the romantasy genre last year and The Plated Prisoner series is one that I cannot stop thinking about. It was so good and different from others in this genre. It’s centered around a gold woman living in King Midas’ castle. The series slowly unfolds the world’s history and the different beings within it. This series feels the most realistic of the fantasies I’ve read because of many of the characters being morally flawed but trying to be better. I don’t want to give anything away but there are so many chapters I ended with a gasp or in tears or heart pounding. I just loved what this author did with the series and I highly recommend to anyone remotely interested.

I had dreadlocks for 6 years, never had an issue. It’s wild to take the position you’re taking when you’ve been putting dish soap, colour and not moisturising to then turn around and tell the people who haven’t had issues they’re lying. It’s entirely possible to have luscious healthy dreadlocks as most have for years. Just stop trying to reinvent the wheel and consider that the people who haven’t had issues could teach you something rather than being defensive. Maybe ask them what they’re doing- hard to do when you denigrate them.

I remember when i saw that blonde look on the news stands. I knew that was the beginning of her downfall.

I've just got into locs. My first set was annoying. I showed the loctician what grid size I wanted, it was small but not super small. Guess what she ended up giving me? Microlocs. She wasnt even referencing my picture or nothing, and there were four people doing my hair, and apparently the grid sizes they were doing weren't the same. I just kept trying to tell myself that this is fine, and that I didn't waste my dad's money, and I wasn't gon' comb it out or nothing. But the LAST STRAW- I didn't wanna dye my hair, but I did want some type of colour. This lady mainly specialized in microloc extensions, and she said sure, she can add some color to my hair. I said okay. The microlocs started tugging at my hair like a month after. The coloured extensions she added to it were too dang much for each loc. Not to mention she kept trying to braid up my edges, which were already thinning from the previous loose natural hair stylist I had. I just said screw it and loosened it all. My mum ended up helping me do the grid I wanted, and a friend of mine finished it up for me in school.

The exact same thing has happened to me over the last two weeks :(. I noticed some locs around the front perimeter of my hair were super thin near the roots after washing them. Tried to crotchet the loose hair back into the loc and welp 😅 lost 4 locs. Currently rocking headbands and headscarves till my hair grows back so I can get my locs reattached. I just keep reminding myself that this is a journey and the hair will grow 💗 Edit: I even went through the exact same thing of thinking I’d “successfully” reattached them only for them to fall out a week later 😭🤣 atp you have to laugh or you cry
