Tablet Cover Tutorial

This is a tutorial to show you how to make a cute cover for your tablet, that also serves as a stand. No pattern necessary, you just need your tablet measurements and my formula. I use WovenFuse and LuxeSew for interfacings, and these can be purchased from www.gotinterfacing.com And, I want to clarify, that YES, you can iron LuxeSew, but it has to be covered with something, and low heat. I didn...

Просмотров 471Год назад
Have you been embroidering away, only to hear a noise that shocks you right out of your chair? And then, your design isn't lined up correctly? I have, and apparently so have others. Here's a video that explains what that terrible noise is, and how to avoid it.

Putting Needle Plate Back On The Dream Machine
Thank you.
I’m so thankful for this! I’m late to the party bc I never got the hand of this! THANK YOU!
Thank you for this video. I couldn’t understand why I had so many threads in the bottom of my second hand machine. I moved it to the back and pushed it over so it’s flush and straight and my needle is unthreading either now 😊
I’m a new owner of a brother Stellaire and this was very helpful. Could you please do more videos like this.
I don’t have this problem, but my first thought was put some tape over it to see if that helps.
How did you prep your quilt?
Thank you so very much for this tutorial, Mel! I have learned a lot this way and am ready to try it out on my machine! Thank you!
What a great video and I love your cheat sheet idea.
I’m not sure what machine you have, I own a Husqvarna Topaz 50, do you happen to know how to do it on that machine?
Thank you! I have a quilt top with 3 different sizes and shapes of birds... Is there a way to save these after I have drawn around them? There are about 10 to 15 birds in the small shape, about 10 in medium shape and about 6 or 7 in large shape of bird.
Yes, you would save them while you are in My Design Center, before you turn them into embroidery designs, in case you need to go back and edit them, That file is your working file. Once you save them to the embroidery format, you would simply save tm to your machine, or a usb. :)
Melanie, adjusting thus will also make a difference when using the thread cutter in sewing mide right? Machine was in for spa and they put a new assembly now the thread cuts so short i have to manually pull thread up....after every cut😢
Thank you for showing us a step by step on how to Stitch Around Shapes. Showing us the results & critiquing the issues was just as insightful. More tutorials please! 👍
So many steps to do!😲reminds me when Photo Shop first came out 😂😂🤣🤣wonderful video btw
Thanks so much! 😊
Thank you
Great video, I will try using this more now. Another Mel. (Mary Ellen) 24:33 24:33
Great tutorial Mel! Thank you 😊
Thank you, and you are very welcome!!!
What type of viewer do I need to open the download please because my pc goes to media player & will not open the file! Do I need to view the file before transferring to my USB stick & is it worth buying the brother design software (I currently use Artspira & found many designs won’t open without updating my machine) Also which software is easiest to design with for my machine? - Brother Innovis M340ED
Do you mean the update file? You don't open it, it simply goes on the usb, and into your machine. As for the software, digitizing has a very steep learning curve, I would look for one that has a free trial, so you can see what it entails.
How could I get this so I could print out this instruction?
Hi I was cleaning the thread cutter their was thread stuck in it that felt ended up coming out can I buy or fix that felt piece it like two pieces should it be one ?
My issue is my Brother SE700 is stuck on the "Saving the update file" screen and has been that way for over an hour. I'm not sure how to proceed.
Really cute. Can you send my design ideas to the brother scan & cut?
Yes, you can. :) There is a process for doing that, but I have not yet done a video on it.
First time watcher! Thank you. I am learning how to use my design space.
So funny, I have Tyvek from my husband changing the windows on our house!
Great tutorial!
Finally, a video I can understand! I have a stellaira Xj1 with the upgrade which supposedly makes it like luminaire 2(according to the salesman anyway) and it’s way smarter than me! This video I can put beside my machine and then do it! I hope you have lots of videos! Thank you!
Very very helpful! I had no idea about all those steps, but I'm so grateful for your tutorial! ❤
Mel, fabulous information! I’m the person who responded to you at length a few minutes ago on the BL thread. Knowing your machine is just a smart thing to do!
Could you show how to do this if you don’t have the scan feature?
Do you mean like the Stellaire, which uses an app?
@@sewingwithmel I have the Baby Lock Altair. It is like the Stellaire, it doesn’t have the scan feature.
@@sewingwithmel , so the answer is yes
I just learned so much! Thank you 🎉
Thanks!
You are sew welcome!!
YESS brilliant idea with the bra! Im a G also and my dressform isnt representing my cup size the way it should. (Im making my SECOND dress form now!!)
Hey there, are you still happy with this and are you still using it?? Thank you!
Yes! I love it, and wouldn't change a thing. :)
Cute quilt! I was excited to see a 'how to' except I realized it is for the bigger machines with bells and whistles I don't have. But I will figure it out with my software. Love the quilt!!
What software do you use?
@@sewingwithmel I have PEDesign 10 & all modules of Embrilliance.
Thank you for the lesson. That’s a very cute quilt! How will you quilt the borders around the block?
My plan to use my Muv It foot, and sew two lines along each sides of each strip of blocks, to create a plaid type look. If I do that, it will leave just some short stitching along the little sides of the parts that are above and below the blocks, if that makes sense. That's a lot of stop and start tho, so we shall see. :)
Thanks for these great tutorials. Also, is the spider on your sleeve an embroidery design? And if so could you tell me where I can buy it. Many thanks J
Sure! I embroidered that on my sleeve to spook a friend at retreat...but didn't end up sitting next to her. :) www.shark-designs.de/en/animals/tarantula.html
This video is so helpful! Great step and step instructions for both sacnning or using an image from a USB stick/laptop. Thank you!!
Love how you teach, very easy to follow and not too fast. I appreciate it!
The WONDERFUL tutorial!!! I just traded my Brother Dream 2 for a Luminaire XP3. I love how you comment with the do’s and don’t’s and not just the exact steps to do ! It is soooooo helpful to see how to correct the step you may not do correctly as much as how to do the steps. Do you think the stylus for my IPad (Apple pencil 2) might work with my Luminiare XP 3 ? Please continue making these videos 🙏🏻. They are excellent for the new machine owner ! I look forward to learning all this machine can do ! THANKS SO MUCH !!
You are sew welcome!! As far as the iPad pen, I am just not sure, as I don't have any Apple devices. But try it, what can it hurt?
Mel, the first steps did not work on my Luminaire. It asked me to put a sticker in place. What am I doing wrong?
Angie, I just saw this. Go into your settings, and turn off the fabric thickness sensor.
Thank you! Just saw your message, and now it's off. @@sewingwithmel
Where do you adjust the length in the setting that you talk about in the last few seconds of the video?
I would have been interested by this answer also !
The answer is: at the bottom of your embroidery screen, there is a key with scissors and stitches on it, and when you touch that, you will see jump stitch trim.
How do you set up for embroidery
Hello! Great advice! I will try the tape trick and hope that it will work. Thanks for this video!
You are sew welcome!!!
Great directions, very easy to follow, thanks.
Wow-This video was amazing and so helpful.
Hi 😊 Did your pattern include a 10% negative ease. I'm just wondering if that is something new that they've introduced recently? I can't understand how my dress form will end up measuring correctly when the bust is about 10cm too small. It makes me nervous to sew the back together, because I may just have to unpick it all again. I used calico fabric and iron on interfacing and I don't think it will be stretching 10cms. Thanks 💐
This was the easiest of the instructions that I have watched to make an appliqué, the directions were clearer as told by you on this video than the one I watched previously by you for the Solaris Thank you for helping me learn how to do this in 3 easy steps.
Nossa queria tanto uma
I watched this whole video and you not stitching it?????? Its like watching the ingredients for a cake without mixing or cooking.
No, no need to stitch it. This video is about creating an applique in Design Center. It is about how to make the file that you can stitch out, not how to stitch out an applique that is already a stitch file.
I love that you added the bra! I am an H cup. I will build mine out with the same thought process.
What about using a mouse? Could you?
