Mass Moment of Inertia and a Merry go round
Newton's 2nd law of Acceleration also applies to rotational force (torque) and rotational acceleration. When applied to rotational acceleration, Newton's second law is:
Torque = Mass Moment of Inertia x Rotational Acceleration (T = I × α).
Mass moment of inertia is what makes a merry-go-round accelerate when the people on it move closer to the middle (the axis of rotation). When the people move closer to the middle, the Mass Moment of Inertia decreases, and as a result the Rotational Acceleration increases.

Test Procedure: Support the patient’s hand with one hand. With your other hand, locate the CMC joint line on the volar surface (typically just distal & radial to the bottom curve of the thenar crease), and then press firmly with your thumb on the volar surface of the thumb CMC joint line. Positive results: - Pt. reports pain/tenderness (at CMC joint) with firm pressure Negative Results: - No ch...

Test Procedure: - Have patient grasp thumb in a fist and ulnarly deviate wrist (or examiner can assist). Positive results: - Pain (often exquisite) in the 1st dorsal compartment. Always compare with the uninvolved side, as this position can be somewhat uncomfortable in normal individuals. Negative Results: - No difference between arms (if only one arm is involved) or no sharp pain. Implications...

Elbow Flexion Test
Просмотров 15111 месяцев назад
Elbow flexion test Test Procedure: • Therapist holds the client’s elbow passively flexed and supinated for 60 seconds (wrist neutral) (Some add wrist extension to increase the sensitivity of the test, but this would decrease the specificity as it would also compress the ulnar nerve at Guyon’s canal, and compress the median nerve in the carpal tunnel.) Positive results: • Increased paresthesia (...

    When you say "densities" do you mean high density upholstery foam vs a kitchen "sponge" or can it be high density upholstery foam in varying thicknesses? Say a 1" square adjacent to a 1/2" square of the same type of foam.

    Thank you, sir! I have been suffering from this convex-concave rule for hours, and after your presentation, I realized that I first confused rotation with rolling, and secondly, I misunderstood the law as "rolling and sliding in the opposite direction of the convex skeleton at the same time". Your demonstration and explanation were very, very clear and comprehensive! Most of them use shoulder abduction as an example, whereas what I would like to see most is shoulder flexion, because the AI gives very different conclusions, and the web search doesn't explain it exactly. All in all thank you!

    I took a video of my back between the shoulder blades... I held a stretch band out Infront of me whilst stretching my arms out to the sides, so I can see what's going on between my shoulder blades as I stretch them out with resistance band... ( Because it feels like my arm is hanging off weirdly all the time... ) When I watched the video back , my left muscles around the blade look different to the right . They left are not even they don't move together in the same way... I also have trouble shrugging the shoulder to the ear.. and it feels like my shoulders hanging off all the time... Does this sound like rhomboid.. When it first happened it was really bad.. sometimes the only thing I can do is the stratetch band exercise holding palms down

    I have radial nerve damage as well as the other nerves from a humerus fracture i was in a near fatal accident. I have a occupational therapist who has looked into this and we started using this treatment as well as others. However, my wrist hadn't moved in any position. It does the opposite a few months into therapy. I've been slowly regaining the use.
