DIY Homemade Double Voice Coil Woofer! - Bass / Excursion Test
Here is my DIY ultraslim woofer I made from cardboad a while ago! It has a double voice coil (2x 2 ohms) It takes a ton of power without getting warm. The aluminium dustcap also help with the cooling a bit. It moves a ton without any noises either! I'm really proud of this thing! :D
The rubber surround is bought off ebay since I don't have the resources to make good surrounds myself.

Now this is a cool little system! The woofer unit looks like some of the woofers Used in the KEF 104/2 speakers and some others aswell with the tiny surround in the middle of the cone instead of a normal dustcap. Today I have an amazing 2.1 set to show you! This one came out of a 28 inch Philips Matchline crt tv! I was lucky enough to find the version with boxed satellites. The subwoofer is also refoamed. They sound REALLY good together! Please Like and Subscibe! That would make my day! ;D

These not so little speakers came out of a 46 inch Philips rear projection tv and they are made by ONK. They sound very nice in free air and even have some bass too! The tweeters are quite loud! Here we have an AMAZING speaker set from an old 1989 Finlux VARIO crt tv. The satellites have Audax drivers which sound amazing with the built in cross over they have! The subwoofer uses a double voice coil driver made by Sipe and has its own lowpass filter! It actually has alot of bass too! This is a perfect hifi speaker set for casual use. This is easily one of my favorite tv speaker systems ...

I thought I am the only speaker nerd . I was always into speakers since I was a kid. I used to remove and tear up speakers from tv , my grandpas radio and my dads car tweeters 😂 I still remember that my dad thought someone stole his bose tweeters from his car 😂

@@CharlesDowiot-qv7pp well yeah. Speaker drivers barely have anything super important that can fail exept the suspension but thats easy to repair so yeah, speaker drivers always last reeally long if treated right unlike any other electronics with many tiny components

Found a pair of grundig box m600 speakers at the bin , problem is the woofers have the foam rot and the cables from the back have been taken away, they have a strange wire connection , it is a male female din plug.The speaker cases are made of plastic, they are very heavy.They were made in the early 80’s.
@@silvinho87WHAT?! you found Grundig Box m600 speakers from THE TRASH?? thats an insane find! Those speakers are some of the best vintage speakers ever made and sell for a lot on ebay and stuff. I have wanted those speakers or similar for so long! Repair the woofers and put some new cables and you'll have some insane vintage speakers!

Cool! You can get the tweeter out by hitting the area around the tweeter with a hammer for example. It will just pop out

I still havent refoamed the other woofer 😅 i have kind of abandoned them. I believe the bigger 32 inch or another 32 inch model has 2 centers

Yep! I am aware this is a very rare version of this loewe individual tv soundbar! I think this Sipe version is only found in the 26 inch model which i got. Its just sooo incredibly good! Better than the nokia version even!

The dust cap acts as an inner surrounded/spider as its meant to be compact and powerful for the tv
@@LgPhone-i4b a normal dustcap would have worked just fine too. It does also have a normal spider which is quite stiff

My collection is not even 1/10 of yours, I just have 2 woofers and 2 tweeters from a pair of bookshelf speakers (wich I'm currently using them with upgraded woofers & tweeters, check my last videos), another 2 woofers... I don't have much more but I kept the best speakers, the rest of them I thrown them to the trash or blowed them

At 5:00 i have the same loewe soundbar but mine is broken in half and on one woofer the magnet fell of because the whole thing was submerged in water when i found it😅
😬 that sucks! Is it beyond repairable? Did yours have the Nokia drivers?
@@theloudspeakernerd-tlsn9322 no it had haes drivers🤷♂ But I still kept it and I somehow managed to fix the magnet with hotglue which is not optimal but it works... And the whole thing sounds way better with the ports sealed!

@@the_speaker_tester lol thank you! I had to do some "engineering" to make it move as much and be so thin at the same time + avoid mechanical noises. I think I succeeded in all of those goals haha!
