Super73 S2 - How to fit a rack and crate
Earlier this year after much looking around I decided to try and fit a rack and crate to the back of the Super73 S2. I've had a few questions about what I've used to get this working. Here's a short video showing what was used, how and some of the challenges. Equipment used is as follows:
Generies Universal Bike Rack: amzn.to/32oNIes
Basil MIK carrier plate: amzn.to/3Em8bh8
Basil MIK Adapter plate: amzn.to/3FkInDr
Basil Crate Small: amzn.to/33JS3tf

    I'm kind of confused because when I look up standing desks like Autonomous, Jarvis, Uplift, Flexispot, Ergonofis or something else, it looks like they sell legs separately from the wood piece top. It's confusing, why would a company sell them separately, that seems bizarre...... I look online and some people sell them separately too.... I even seen some people buy some ikea tabletop and then separet legs too. How do you tell the difference? I found online of Uplift which suddenly people are selling off the ones with only the 2 buttons for cheaper now and some Jarvis but used. It says "uplift jcb35n2-110". I searched online and I can't find it anywhere. The local seller replied with only "All same brand! Original “. One of the first ones when they came out I believe. It’s my uncles when first bought the table think he paid around $1,000-1,200 ". Please help. I can't tell if these people are selling because it's either old models or somethings wrong with it or because they just bought some legs and some cheap tabletop which doesn't seem fair at all since it's not coming as a set. I'm guess brand name table tops are much more expensive than some cheap table top that can be bought from ikea or home depot that seems like a ripoff

    Great review, mate! I especially appreciate the stability test at the end. I would need to have it up to 122cm (48in) for my height, so if you say you've got it around mid height, I reckon that would be about a foot more for me... so I think that would give me very wobbly monitors and such! Do you find that it becomes quite unstable at its max height?

    • @lifeunlocked7206
      @lifeunlocked7206 2 года назад

      I'd say that probably yes, depending on how much weight is on it. It's really when you lean on it that the wobble exaggerates. If all you did was type and move a mouse then you'd probably be ok but I have a tendency to lean on the desk when I'm stood up. I've gotten used to it and now don't really notice it but it's definitely there. The only probably is that I don't know what it would be like on any other rising desk - maybe it would be the same.

    • @xavierbonet945
      @xavierbonet945 2 года назад

      @@lifeunlocked7206 Yeah, something tells me all desks at this price point have the same issue. I mean, this one is supposed to be the cream of the crop for these mid-range desks, and it still wobbles. The issue is that it has no crossbar; but that seems to be the way to go for all brands right now, as I can only find one that has a crossbar at this price point. This one at least has those wedges on the corners, so the U shape is a bit reinforced. I've only seen one other frame like that, from a company called Maidesite (but they don't have nice tops unfortunately). Anyway, at such heights I think the big issue is the column overlap. So I think I'll go for the Jarvis; being the tallest one I've found, I hope that by not having to push it all the way to its max height I'll get the most column overlap, ie the best stability. Still, it's a bit of a kick in the belly to spend so much for something that isn't perfect. My current desk (nice dinner table from Ikea) is quite wobbly if you get it going and it drives me insane. I hope the Jarvis is at the very least a bit less wobbly! Anyway, thanks again for your video and response! I was 90% convinced and it's given me steam to walk that extra 10%. Cheers!

    • @xavierbonet945
      @xavierbonet945 2 года назад

      @@lifeunlocked7206 So in the end I went with the Jarvis as per your recommendations on this video 😋 It's the one that convinced me the most in terms of quality and reliability (the desk and the service). Should be here on Monday. And although I'm not looking forward to having to disassemble and reassemble my entire office (especially having to clean it!) I am excited about the new desk and potentially having a decent office now! I've also recently got back into mechanical keyboards and was wondering which one you're using here. It looks familiar, like it might be a Keychron older model, like the K2, but I can't quite recognise it. Anyway, cheers for all the help!

      Ride and Glide in the UK. I love the bike but probably don't use as much as originally planned due to covid etc. I'm six foot on a warm day and it's all good. It's a low ride, not like a MTB, but more like you're sat on a chopper. Your feet will sit flat on the floor when you stop at lights and junctions. But that all adds to the appeal to me. I'm currently looking into a standing desk to replace my IKEA Bekant desk! If you had to purchase another standing desk, would you go with the Fully or something different due to the wobbly with the large 49" screen you picked up? • @lifeunlocked7206

      hmm - interesting question. It's hard to know without trying. There's a fair bit of wobble. More than I'd like. What I'll do at some point in time is maybe change the top to something a lot more solid - like some worktop wood or something. But, most of the wobble comes from the legs and the rising mechanism. There's always going to be some play in them so hard to compare. Not sure I've helped!
