Wildlife Photographer UK
Великобритания
Добавлен 21 окт 2022
Welcome to my wildlife adventures, follow me as I learn all about wildlife, as I get out with my camera to photograph the wild side of the UK
My plan is to get out at least once a week and create a video of my travels around the UK as I document my wildlife photography and adventures.
My name is Ashley Barnard and I am a full-time professional photographer based in Lancashire UK on the Fylde coast.
I have been a professional photographer for around 15 years, and have recently started with wildlife photography, here on my RUclips channel you can follow me as I dive into this minefield of wild birds and animals learning their names, identifying them, and learning the calls of the wild.
So please feel free to like and subscribe and follow me on my journey into the world of wildlife photography.

Multi Species Hide - 24 Hours of Wildlife Photography
In this video, I am going back to Lincolnshire to Tom's multi-species wildlife photography hide. If you didn't see the last video of me at the Dyke Hide photographing the buzzards, red kites, and sparrowhawks here's the link to that video - ruclips.net/video/7AgvfzZrpQ0/видео.html
So yes, I'm spending 24 hours in the hide on a cold and wintery night, fortunately, Tom does have a log burner in this hide so staying warm should not be a problem and really looking forward to photographing some wildlife over the next 24 hours.
One of the features in this video is that I will be using my power bank this is the Anker 537 power bank to run my camera so that during the whole 24 hours. I will not ha...

Tawny Owls: The Cutest Creatures in the Forest
🎉 nice
What a beautiful day you shared. The photos of the kingfisher was simply a delight to behold. So jealous of the hide, for its rare to have more than a roof and a single wall here in Colorado.
Many thanks for your comment glad you enjoyed the video and photos yes the cutting Fisher was absolutely fantastic to photograph in this hide, perhaps you can get a few of you together to build your own hide.😀👍
Thanks for another great video. Happy new year
Stupenda complimenti 😊
Sorry, going to unsubscribe, I appreciate you are trying to make money, but 3 advert breaks in the first 8 minutes, not prepared to have another 3 or 4 by the end of the vid.
Many thanks, Sue for your comment, unfortunately, I do not put the adverts in the Video Google does, and I probably only make around 0.1 pence for your view, if the video is very popular, then google will add more adverts, unless I create the video and say to google do not show adverts, then that would be fine, and I would make nothing for the time and effort to bring this video to you. but never mind, many thanks for watching 🥰
Wonderful!!!!! Great photos and vedio . Wish you Happy New year 2025.
Another great video Ashley. Bumped into you at the squirrels on the 27th. Me and my daughter were chasing the female pheasants away from the nuts by the river. I have seen pheasants there before but only 1 or 2, not the 10+ that were around on the 27th. Must get up into the woods next time
Hi Steven many thanks for the comment yeah there are lots of pheasants up in the woods and around the river at the moment not sure why whether they are breeding them or not I don't know. But yes, great to meet you, and take care and I will probably bump into you again one day 👍
Have done the all nighter at Tom's... superb! Am a regular to Tom's hides and all are equally fab... and he is such a lovely guy too... really recommend a visit. Lovely pics Ashley!
Hi Clive many thanks for the comment, yes if I was a bit more local I'd probably be visiting Tom's hides a lot more and like you say he is a fantastic chap, all the hides are worth a visit as he is constantly on the go, maintaining them, and creating new ones, oh and looking after all the topographers that come to his hides. So yeah he does work very hard. 👍
What a set up Tom has, great that the hide your in is nice and low, gives such a great prospective and your images and footage are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hi Jo hope you well, yes they are really good setups that Tom has all very low level, you're almost looking into the eyes of the wildlife.👍
Beautiful 😍
Many thanks, @wildwanderer_chronicles 👍
Another great video and photos…subscribed 👍
HI Alison and Guy many thanks for subscribing that means a lot, hopefully you will continue to enjoy the content, have a great weekend😀👍
Lovely photos and videos 👍
Hi Alison and Guy, many thanks for your comment, always nice to get some comments and pleased that you enjoyed the video. 👍
Great video
Thanks James 👍
Excellent video 👍great photos 👏
Cheers Simon thanks for the appreciation.
great video and great shots
Thanks, Adrian. Yeah, I had a great time at the hide. It certainly provided some good opportunities to get some great images. 👍
Great stuff thank you loved it 👍
Cheers Shaun, yeh not one of my better videos doing the voice over but there you go the photos were ok though 😜
Another great video Ashley, one day hopefully we'll bump into one another
Hi Peter many thanks for the comment, Yeh I am sure we will one day, I tend to bump into subscribers in the most obscure places some times, so I might see you in Morrisons 😅
Great video Ashley.. Looks like A great place to visit..
Cheers Dave Yeh Tom's hides are just exceptional, a lot of work goes into keeping them warm and dry and maintaining the wildlife. 👍
Suuuuuuper!
Many thanks, sorry no translation with this video a little pushed for time 👍
This hide has been very popular on RUclips recently, yours must be the 4th or 5th to appear over the last couple of weeks
Hi Phillip, many thanks for the comment, Yeh I was invited down to cover this Hide for Tom and create the video for promotional use. If others have done their own videos, then great, a bit more publicity for the hide. I did another one for Tom a month or so back but that was for the Dyke Hide.👍
Fantastic great work.
Many thanks for your comment, glad you enjoyed the video and liked the photos. 👍
We really missed your beautiful videos. Thanks and Happy 2025!
Beautiful as always Ashley, I know I always say it, but your photography is stunning! I love how you can see each little individual feather ❤
Really curious to where / what you use for the background music?
I use Artlist. It's a bit on the pricy side, but it's the best I have found for variety and not being all USA-style music. So many are USA-based and don't seem to fit the European market, but Artlist does seem to be the best, and I have tried many. artlist.io/referral/37cb9fab-5881-4bf6-9ad9-bc54a16b6abb
@@WildlifePhotographerUK thank you so much
everyone says double shutter speed of frame rate. I shot a owl in flight and the frames had motion blur. I was shooting at 30fps and shutter at 1/60th. SURELY bird wing motion at 1/60th isn't possible. I mean I shoot stills for sharp wings at 1/2000 and 1/4000th. So I'll not TRY 120fps... and 1/250th. Video is simply fast FPS stills. If the stills "each frame" aren't fast enough to stop the motion it's not going to look good?
Prachtig!
Nice footage. A big LIKE from Vietnam. Happy birding
3:11 ❤❤❤
That’s brilliant perfect images well. Done
Hi Dave many thanks for the comment, Yep nice to be able to capture the owl at night 👍
As you say Ashley, you can’t predict nature. Great shots and vids 😊
Great video thanks so much for that 🙏👌👍
We had our first ever Blackcaps on Christmas Day, hopefully they'll return and I can get some shots.
You got any Parakeets round your neck of the woods? I'm hearing more and more from my back garden.
Thankfully no, no parakeets around here if there were I do everything I could to discourage them from coming into the garden, they are a pest to garden birds woodpeckers and such like and should not be encouraged.
you had allsorts on your feeder. Very nice :) I'm happy that from never seeing a sparrow for a few years, our food and surrounding nearby bushes/trees attract flocks
Hi many thanks for your comment, yes I have the usual suspects at the feeders, such as blue tits, great tits, Robbins, goldfinches, dunnocks, green finches, and plenty of blackbirds male and female running around the garden as well as a grey squirrel. Just such a surprise to see The Black Cap.
I've lived in Shropshire all my life. Used to sit by the Rea as a child, watching kingfishers (+ otters and tickling red 2:27 trout) - I bought a house near the same river, watched dozens fly by - Nobody should ever take them for granted
Excellent video. Beautiful job. I enjoyed watching your birding adventure, thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas, my friend!
HI and many thanks for your comment, It is always good to get feedback and really glad you enjoyed the video, have a great Christmas 👍
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family, Ash. Thanks for all the work you have put into these great videos over the last year, and here's to a brilliant 2025 ! 👏👏👏
Hi Russ many thanks for the comment, and your support throughout 2024, wishing you and your family a very merry Christmas, it's been another great year and looking forward to getting out into 2025 in fact I've got my first session books for the third of January so looking forward to getting out and getting that video done but yeah onwards with 2025 I cannot wait. Have a good one👍
Hi Ashley the channel just gets better and better can I ask a simple question I have a canon 7D mkii camera with a 150-600 lens on when I use back button focus do I have to keep that pressed all the time when taking pictures of birds or animals on the move. As you can probably tell I am relatively new to photography it has helped me recover from a terrible mental breakdown just being out is a bonus but there is always a worry I am doing something wrong thanks very much for your time any help is much appreciated have a good Christmas. Carl
Hi call many thanks for your, message and your continued support the channel as for using the 7dmark 2 I'm not overly familiar with it but if you have set to back button focusing then yes I would keep your finger on the back button autofocusing button was taking the images that should maintain lock. But I could be wrong but give it a try. You could try watching this video here from Ryan he explains it quite well ruclips.net/video/nHqydsTC3og/видео.html
Absolutely spectacular footage
Superb footage of the bearded reedlings, and thank you for withholding the background music so we could hear their call. First time I have ever heard them clearly. Great sound!!
What a magical experience and some wonderful images 💖
Many thanks for your comment Jo, have a great Christmas 👍
If you at Hawes, please read the guidance before you go. Important note: Please don't feed the squirrels. Watch the squirrels from the path only and don't put food out to attract them or try to feed them by hand as it is important that they don't get used to human contact.
Fantastic pictures Ashley. What a lovely day out you had.
thank you
love seeing the reds such beautiful little animals. all the best Ashley looking forward to what you will be bringing next year
Hi Andy, many thanks for your comment yep you can't beat a red squirrel that's for sure, but still all the best, thanks for your continued support and have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.👍
Best wishes from France. I’m also a wildlife photographer and I would want to congratulate you for your videos and for simplicity and the serenity in your videos ! Sorry for my English ! 🐿️
Thanks for you rvideos and have a Great Christmas from all the way over here in Australia. You really brighten my days when you have a new video!!!
Hi, Jane hope you and your family are well and good to hear from you. So glad you enjoyed this video and the others, many thanks for your continued support of the channel. Have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. 🎄🎅
I find buzzards really difficult, i see lots in Cumbria but so easily spooked
