Very cool game! Feels like it's inspired by Daniel Mullin's games, mostly Inscryption, which is a layered experience and as the primary gameplay loop is card based might be up your alley, and Pony Island, which uses the retro pixel style with you playing the game in-universe that has some of the under-the-surface stuff you liked here. It's fun how this artstyle's gotten popular in the horror game space, like how Faith: The Unholy Trinity uses it as a contrast for its more detailed rotoscoped moments/cutscenes, and like you pointed out the FNAF minigames. I'm definitely looking forward to more of their work, thank you very much for helping share this!

How does it feel to know this was posted, asking the question of if the game was still considered canon despite all of its many levels of weird, the same day Sony's State of Play confirmed the answer is somehow "yes" with Sonic X Shadow Generations?

As much as a loved the Robotech saga, at the time I chose to relive the 80's with Vice City.

Thing is i am a long time fan of Battletech. And here in Germany Robotech ... well it has never been a thing. When i found this "MECH" - Game i was so upset with the modells ...it took me some time to unravel the Clusterfuck of the FASA / Robotech lawsuit :D . Thanks for reminding me of this time :)

..... By the time you ADD kicked in You were on the Second O in robotech. It also has one of th best versions of the Robotech theme.

I hate the fact that these guys can just slap their Robotech Brand on anything Macross and call it a day. They keep us from so much great stuff cause it "contradicts" their narrative.

This game is OG! Got a copy at a yard sale for my GameCube originally and after I lost that I got a copy for the Xbox. My favorite part is the multi-player with split screen.

I think the implication was supposed to be GUN didn't "mistake" Sonic for Shadow as much as it was deliberately framing him. Shadow was made on their dime, he's not supposed to exist on multiple levels at this point given everything they've done, and knowledge about him is definitely not meant to get this public. They nearly lucked out in that Sonic and Shadow did have enough similarities that the blame job doesn't come across as completely random when Shadow's actions couldn't just be covered up.

Tying to the symbology of water as both the source of life and natural disasters, in-universe Chaos might be the basis for various "great flood" myths like Noah's Ark to earn that "God of Destruction" moniker. Also being a mutated Chao makes turning into an aquatic kaiju a fun take on Godzilla using magic instead of nuclear radiation to turning an ancient creature into an avatar of the force that changed them. If they do remake this I'd love for them to use the chao from our gardens in the "proof to Chaos the world is safe for Chao again" scene instead of the defaults to tie the mechanic in with the plot just a little bit.

You don't like "aqua papa"? What about "water father"? A "drip daddy" perhaps? I'm still fairly amused by him "just" being a mutant Chao. Their emeralds make them a little taller and apparently they become literal Gods. All Cheese needs is one lucky chance on a bad day and Cream shall inherit the Earth.
