Banking West Aviation is a channel oriented towards my flight training as I go after my Private Pilot License. I plan on posting videos showcasing my first lesson to eventually my checkride along with my growth as a pilot. My videos are not intended to be used for personal instruction in any way but rather to enjoy a birds eye view of flight training.

A beautiful day for flying at KCRQ. Jim and I decided to take the 150 up and mess around in the pattern. Always a good time flying and always an opportunity to learn. FltPlan Go is my favorite pilot app! It offers all pilots real time flight tracking as well as many extra tools. It is absolutely free and 100% worth downloading. I have been given express permission from the FltPlan Team to feature their App in this video. I do not work for them but I am merely showing their high quality application. Why is it not in my appstore?
Funny I just came across this and I have kept my plane at Ryan field since 74 and still am flying my little cessna 150. I just wish I could find a free app that would display traffic with a store bought ADSB receiver. I spend so much money yearly on the little plane and only fly around Tucson area out of airspace where ADSB out is required. I see this was done 7 years ago I hope that you are still flying.

Does FltPlan Go display VFR Navigation Charts (VNC)?
I am not a pilot but i do use MSFS2020, will this app provide ILS approach frequency for a given runway and does it have other countries

Great video! For weather forecasts, I prefer using Aeroweather. I've also heard that some people use custom weather apps using API keys from Weather Underground or Weather by Tomorrow, which are a tad better.

From the Foreflight website FAQ: "ForeFlight is only available on iOS devices such as the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. We have no plans for an Android version of ForeFlight Mobile at this time."

Hey Doug. I personally use an iPad mini small form factor with the same features, the size doesn't matter and is all based off preference. If you were to purchase the Area 796 I would look into this article, www.aopa.org/news-and-media/all-news/2018/march/06/garmin-avionics-connect-with-fltplan-com . You can link up the garmin and the app easily. Did this help?
@@bankingwestaviation8984 First thanks for the response. I was under the understanding that Garmin is now partnered with FltPlan.com? And was watching on youtube that if you don't use the Garmin device the information doesn't update fast enough?

Yes, make sure you have the map downloaded to your device before flight!
FltPlan Go is working only for North & South America. :(
Skyvector.com is free and pretty darn awesome. You can visually plan, print or save your flight plan, and even file it if you want. Save your favorite aircraft for pretty accurate fuel and time estimates.

It should be available as long as your phone is updated to the current version of Android.

I normally write down my frequencies and have everything planned out but heading over to KTUS was last minute, things can get funky juggling everything at once. Got to be careful though! Happy flying!
Nice! I've never before seen hangers (lack of a better term for them) like those up here in the northeast part of the country (Pennsylvania), I'm guessing as it's a hotter dryer climate in Arizona it's not absolutely necessary for a fully enclosed hanger.
Exactly! The coldest weather I've experienced is just below freezing but there are days exceeding 110 degrees as well. I think the only downside to the exposed hangers is the sun eating your paint.
Does fltplan go work on the IPAD mini, and how many GBs should the mini be.
I use an iPad mini with 4g and it only has 16gb of storage. Depending on how many charts, procedures, etc. you want to download the app can take upwards of 5 gb, but you only need about 1-2 if you aren't going crazy with the charts. Hope this helped!

thanks are the vfr charts legal certified as replacement for paper ones?
Similar to Foreflight they are regularly updated to be used as replacements but it is always good pilotage to have the good ole chart and kneeboard
