If you haven't played Half-Life: Alyx, it's equally as amazing. Playing that in VR is like stepping _into_ this world, only a high-res version of it. It's every bit as unsettling as HL2 and it's one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time.

Back when I played wow I was very racist towards gnomes. That was fun and gnome players often seem to know how awful it is getting killed by them. Heck, in one bg I went so furious that the enemy team got I was going for the gnome and my team did. Most of us started ganking with my team trying to get me to the gnome and the alliance trying to stop us. I love it when we can have our own narratives

Monster Hunter World is where I feel this really started with the female characters being very large with no option to make them skinny. I hated it. And also I have no problem with women of any size I just don't want my character to be one.

If your looking for games with similar vibes, I high recommend the STALKER series of games. While its horror is less in your face for the moment to moment gameplay, it has a really good mixture vibe wise of both abject horror and fear, as well as a sort of hopeful sadness.

This is with no doubt inspired from commie countries late '80s. I guess some are still like that today. Except the fantasy horror part, of course. First of all the architecture and ghetto ambiance. But police men were disguised in civilian. You just know they are there but you do not see them ... unless you do something to trigger them. Good review. You can be a writer.

For some reason I tend to avoid remakes of games I already played. I just don't look forward to them and would prefer to play something new and different. Specially now that there's often an announcement for a new remake all the time. But there're a few remakes I enjoyed like RE1re, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, and Metroid: Zero Mission to name a few. But now with the flood of remakes being made and announced and coming out, idk it just goes over my head at this point.

The whole game from start to finish has the liminal vibe. Every location u don't wanna be there but also wanna be there at the same time(except for Ravenholm fk that town) . Its very unsettle and peaceful at the same time. well that is what i felt like when i played the game 1st time.

There are plenty of opportunities for a female character to shine; it just depends on the writers. KCD has Theresa saving Henry, and she does it not by slaughtering the lot, but by distracting the enemy. She didn't know that Sir Robard was coming. She was willing to die for Henry.

This is the first time I've seen your content and I've given a like and subscribed. I don't mind female characters in a game or playing as one. A fantasy game can use magic to make a female protagonist the hero. I have multiple playthroughs in Skyrim where I've played as both male and female. I admit to using some mods during my female playthrough. I am just a mortal man 😂

I don't trust any remake these days, or even sequels. I liked the FF7 Remakes, but they were terrible remakes. I liked BG3, but it's not a very good BG game. I liked Fallout 4, but it's a crap Fallout game. I like FF16, but it's an ass FF game. There's a fine line between innovating something and mangling it, and few developers seem to know how to walk that tightrope... or even care to. Also, gatekeeping doesn't mean keeping out people who want to try and enjoy a new thing, it means keeping out people who want to change it into something unrecognizable. If more people understood that and gatekept a bit better in the past, we wouldn't have so much crap these days.

Half-life 1 was my first real PC game. I loved it, beat that, and blue shift. I loved half-life 2 also, but I beat that on 360 and never played it on PC. I gotta go do that at some point haha

Oblivion was the only game that allowed me to jump over a goblen knock an arrow and shoot a headshot mid air. I cannot remember doing that in morrowind nor skyrim.
