Playing New Born Foal - Alberta's Wild Horses
We named this sweet little boy Gemini with his two twin stars. The newest member of Artois' band. This was the night we met him. Frolicking adorably in the meadow.

Spring is an intense time of year in the wild horse mountains. A couple of weeks back we spent a wonderous day in the mountains meeting a few of this years new foals. We were especially grateful to spend some time with one of our favorite stallions, Moonshadow, and his beautiful new colt.
The Dance of Two Wild Stallions
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.2 месяца назад
Watching the dance of two stallions is one of my very favorite things to witness in the East slopes. These two took my breath away. Unfortunately there is a fence in the area which slightly takes away from the wild beauty of the scene, but their majestic magnificence is still mesmerizing.

Thank you so much for tuning in! You can find us on Instagram Meg @megan.j.graham & Trav @tb.photographs After an afternoon of spring blizzards, wild blowing winds, muddy, nearly impassable roads, just before dark we found this beautiful band of wildhorses. They were tucked away in the enchanted forest, an area we so love and have had many beautiful encounters in. They were totally sheltered fr...

Trav and I ventured out in the snow storm this week and were overjoyed to see one of our favorite bands. No babies yet but the Mamas are all looking radiant.
Sunrise with Wild Horses
Просмотров 692 месяца назад
It took us a couple of weeks to finally review this beautiful footage Trav captured last month. We awoke here to a spectacular sunrise, and just as we set out with our coffee and breakfast, this band crossed in front of us at a full run. Curious as to who this mystery band was, Trav put up the drone and followed along with them. A beautiful palomino with the sweetest little babe, a dark handsom...

@@deshaunbethea5254 thanks Deshaun! 🤍
@@WestSpiritYou’re welcome. Also can you make a second 30 minute long video about the horses?
@@deshaunbethea5254 haha yes that is on our list of to do’s 🥰
Adorable, he looks very strong!
@@user-qd2mx7zt4j he is. And very brave already. We watched him run right into another band and get chased out 🤣🥰

@@allisondangelo2372 you're welcome, Allison. Thank you♥️♥️🐎
I know the cattle people trys to eliminate the wild horses on the planes saying the have rights...they don't.
such beautiful babies.
Gorgeoous beyond words. I just had surgery today, and this is lifting my spirits. God bless you dearly for showcasing His most amazing creation after humans!
Aww thank you. We are so glad you enjoyed it. Wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️
just lost the horse love of my life. the new foals help me realize that the circle of life goes on. their love for each other is so intense. his rival stood guard over him as he left this this world. at least i got to be with at the end .i think he will always be watching out for me.
I’m so so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful horse. I have no doubt he was your guardian Angel while he was here and will continue to watch over you.❤️
Horses are amazing!
They truly are 🥰. Thanks so much for watching ❤️
I wonder how many of these foals are still alive in 2024 - far too many predators in this area.
Almost all of them on Elk flats(the majority of where are footage is taken) are still with us. We just got back from seeing them all. In the sundre area only about 10% survive.
Wow, you captured extremely beautiful moments on film, that awoke and deeply touched my emotions. You are very talented. Thank you for sharing....
Thank you, we're so happy it touched you so deeply! You're very welcome♥️
Gorgeous 😊

Que hermosos animales y es admirable su gran capacidad de adaptacion a estos climas rigurosos, me inspiran mucho los caballos, son unos de los animales mas bellos del planeta
It makes me cry 😢 too see these skinny mares
We think so too, but give it a month of eating spring grasses and they'll be looking filled out and as beautiful as ever.
Sad, they are skinny, 😟
Yes, but they ebb and flow with the seasons. By mid June they'll be filled back out and looking stronger than ever.
Alberta the most beautifull place I have ever visit
We agree, Robert🏔🌲♥️
Are we truly not able to allow freedom? ❤️🌧️🌤️☀️🌈
Long may they resist the government.....
All in poor condition. 😔
Ya, everyone was looking so good right up until the final months of spring. The grass is pretty luscious now so hopefully they’re all eating well and putting the weight back on 🥰
And may move on to more greener pastures or prairies.
They overgrazed the area that they are living at.
It would appear so, but the hundreds of free range cattle in the area all summer were actually the cause of the over grazing.
it's end of winter. they're just getting back to the lush new spring grass and will fill out shortly.
Well, if their ribby it's because food is scarce.
I always laugh at the comments on videos like this - "beautiful!" "wonderful wild horses" and so forth. If these horses were owned by a guy named Virgil Johnson and he just had them running loose on some open property on his ranch, everything else being equal, you'd all be screaming about how their ribs are showing, they are wormy, the mares are getting bred every year, the stallions are fighting, no vet care, shelter, you can't get near them and if they get sick or injured they suffer until they die and take a long time doing it. But as long as they are "wild horses", hey - no problem.
Yes, they are a part of nature, and we see the same with all of nature. They are not owned and “managed” by a human. They are free. There is hardship for sure, and it’s not easy to witness, but when the spring grasses start to grow they are healthier looking and more majestic than any horse we have ever seen at even the fanciest of barns. We’ve watched many horses come back from what a human would probably deem fatal. They possess wisdom and instincts long forgotten by humanity and their family units are truly beautiful to witness. There may be more comfort in a domestic life but there isn’t freedom.
@@WestSpirit So, then the "Canadian super pigs" - which are causing significant damage to crops, forests, wildlife habitat, agricultural land, infrastructure, as well as spreading diseases and parasites to livestock and wildlife - are also "a part of nature ... not owned and 'managed' by a human. They are free .... They possess wisdom and instincts long forgotten by humanity and their family units are truly beautiful to witness"? Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
Such beauties, all of them ❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful wild horses.

Aww, the mustang foals are so adorable! 🥰 🐴 💜
Aren’t they? We can’t get enough of them 🥰
@@WestSpiritSame here. I hope you’re going to make videos about them since they’re just born early this month.
There will be lots more to come ❤️
@@WestSpiritThanks sweetie! 😉
They are so sweet!! All legs. Once they're grown I am still amazed at how those skinny legs keep the rest of their bodies upright. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
They're pretty miraculous beings, aren't they!? You're very welcome♥️ we'll be sharing a full length video of all the foals we met one of these days soon😍
@@WestSpirit As you well know by now, I will be anxiously awaiting!! Grateful to you both. ♥ Enjoy the rest of your week.

There are no wild horses in the USA. These are feral horses. Beautiful. Thank you.
Similar to your bloodline?
So true, thanks for sharing 😊
You're very welcome♥️♥️

Thanks. We agree!♥️🐎❄️
Why do her eyes look like they are half closed and almost all whitish grey?
Horses eyes are very reflective, and it was very overcast as well as a pile of fresh snow. You're seeing the Reflections, I believe.
@@WestSpirit oh wow!!!! Thank you

i turn 75 this year - my bucket list thing is to see the wildies! suggestions/ tour guides?
Amazing, congratulations, Joanne! Are you located in alberta?
@@WestSpirit yes- high river
@@WestSpirit yes- know re sundre area & save wild horse group/ rescue- hope to get there, but maclean creek arra is closer( near brag creek) & so we will try there
This reminded me of the movie cloud. That movie is an integral part of who I am today as a result of watching it on repeat as a kid.
Thanks! We've not seen that one. Is it the story of the wild Stallion that's on PBS?
Just beautiful... the horse is nice too.
Thank you so much♥️
Absolutely Awesome ❤❤❤
Thanks, Tracy ♥️♥️🙏
Dios bendiga estos ejemplares y sus destinos . Son libres oero llegan a manos explotadoras , son abandonados. Maltratados y al matadero 😢😢😢 es una desgarradora realidad😢😢😢😢
Yes, it certainly is very sad to take such beautiful wild beings away from their homes. Thankfully, it doesn't happen as often in alberta currently.
Thank You
You're welcome, Gordon!
Brothers playing? Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
They could definitely be! We don't know the history of these bands as well. You're very welcome, friend♥️
@@WestSpirit Wasn't sure if you had captured an unestablished group of males or band/herd. The lighter colored one seemed to be just a smidgen bigger and was the one going for the "knees" or classic horsey takedown as I call it. He attempted that three times that I noted. They certainly are beautiful with their coats gleaming in the sunlight and the picture of health. You two always make my day!! ♥
Just lovely! Fantastic lighting; mesmerizing. Liked the choice of music as well. ❤❤❤
Thank you!! 🤗❤️
What a soulful encounter! You have the gift to know how to approach them. Is she a 2024 foal?
No, she was a foal that we met in 2022. She's all grown up now and may foal herself this year!
