This was my first ever Leeds match, i had to sneak there with my friend Tyrone Baird as my dad would never let me go. He was right too as i would have been trampled if i hadn't been held up by my parker hood for the whole match by a kind woman behind me in the Kop.

Fair play to Palace, they definitely have the noisiest fans, and best atmosphere, in the Premier League this season.

Steve Perrin was teaching at Christ's College Finchley when he was transferred from Wycombe to Crystal Palace - I'm guessing 1977. Played against him in pupils v masters match. I have to say, I had him in my pocket. Pupils won 4-1. He went to Palace on the strength of scoring loads of goals for Wycombe in an unexpected FA cup run. I particularly remember when the Hendon Times came to see him for a piece one Wednesday afternoon. I think that was the one and only time my picture has ever appeared in a newspaper. I remember him being a top bloke and a good laugh. When I say he was in my pocket - he was for 89 minutes. He did manage to score their one.

This was my first game at age 11. I still can't believe my dad let me go without any adults! Only us kids lol. It was so crowded that I lost all my mates before I evan got into the shed. I hardly saw any of the match but was hooked! My main memory was being crushed up against this wall on the way out when the biggest bloke I had ever seen put his hands on each side of me on the wall and pushed everyone back. I just looked up at him and said "thanks mate".

I was in the Shed that day too Joey, as you say it was heaving, I think the crowd was around 55,000...not bad for a second division side playing a third division side!!

Was at this game as a young lad supporting Chelsea up the Shed End and it was heaving, peope were getting carried out as it was that packed, and there was a lot of trouble up the North Stand with the Chelsea supporter and his infamous kung fu kick into the Palace Supporters, I always liked going to Palace there was just something very warm and fuzzy about Selhurst park in the late 70's Couldn't say the samething about Spurs,White hart Lane was probably the least appealing ground to travel to.

In fact it was quite the opposite. Big Mal took them from the 1st Division to the 3rd Division. It was Terry Venables who got them back to the top (briefly). Admittedly he couldn't be blamed for relegation from the top flight as he only came in at the end of the season. However, the following season Palace had a nightmare start and never really recovered and ended up in Div.3. However he did get the team to play some classy football and was responsible for bring El Tel to the club.

great games... in the chelsea one Gray and Wise got sent off, Gray went straight to tunnell and waited for Wise, who bottled it (to be fair Gray would kill him). then after the game Gray was out and standing waiting at Wise's car. Wise, again, bottled it.

Yes, I was there all those years back. If my memory serves me correctly, four special trains up from London, bricks through windows of coaches from those nice Leeds fans, great display. One of the biggest upsets in our history. Palace fans behind the goal. Malcolm in his fedora. Fantastic times, when we really 'put it up' some of the big boys.

Brooking really, really shouldn't have voiced highlights packages. Other than that, great - just a shame we went down at the worst possible time ever to get relegated, from which us, Forest ('95 notwithstanding), Notts County, Luton and indeed Oldham have never really recovered.
