The BEST Chocolate Sour Cream Bundt Cake for Father’s Day
I made this cake for my husband, Steve for Father’s Day and thought I would share it with you so that you can try it too. I linked to the website below where I found it. Their version is frosted with cream cheese frosting but I used chocolate since that is Steve’s favorite but I’m sure the cream cheese would be great too. My application of the frosting didn’t turn out quite like theirs but it still taste great!!

excellent way of teaching... beautiful project... thank you... will do this for my kitchen(for fruits/veggies) and craft room(to store yarn balls)...can also be put vertical on the wall in the bathroom to store bath tissues, hand towels etc.... velcro idea is awesome:)
Great and easy recipes. Thank you.
Wow! I love this! I’d love to get this as a gift! You did a very nice job on this. Creative and beautifully done. Your presentation makes it look so easy. I love to make gifts like this. I even made some into videos on my channel. Thank you for sharing your talent with us! 💕
Thank you so much!
Hope you are well. I’ve enjoyed your videos and am wondering if you decided to quit your channel?
I went back to work and although I intended to just take a short break, I just haven't made the time for it since. I may get back to posting in the future but I'm just not sure at this point. Never say never though :) Thanks for the support. I do appreciate it.
This is almost exactly how my mom makes her potato salad, except she adds white vinegar. Great video!
Hello from Turkey, I tried it today& made macrame for the first time, thanks for the nice explanation😊
Thank you for explaining in a easy way
It’s super frustrating to try to follow this video. I started and got so confused why the first lengths were different and thought I missed something so I went back and restarted to match the lengths and I’ve had to restart this for a third time because I thought I messed it up.
I'm sorry you had so much trouble with it. I suggested adding some additional length to the cords as some people had commented that it was too short. I find with Macrame it helps to cut your cords a little longer than suggested, just in case. But, of course that is just a personal preference.
Love this video and your detailed instructions! However I made the spaces between my knots smaller to be able to hold clementines. I also started my first row of square knots flush to the dowel for more protection if it gets over-filled. Subscribing for sure 😊
Great idea! Thanks for sharing
So cute!
This cake is deliccioous, a must try! 😍😋😋
Thank you for sharing! I'm excited to make one 😃
Hi Marla,Im new to your channel and i just love your work and love you too. Thanks for your great ideas.
Looks delicious 😋
Simple and beautiful.
Thank you! 😊
this is so beautiful!!
Thank you!
cute!!! xo
They look yummy!
Thank you 😋 They are!
Great video Marla! Loved how you explained everything, made it super clear! Definitely subscribing! 💓
Yay! Thank you! Appreciate the support
Amazing what one can do with a little baking soda!
Omg thank god for this video!!! Where did you find the pieces of wood blocks?
You're welcome! I bought them at the Dollar Tree. It is a mini travel Jenga game. If you can't find it you may want to try balsa wood from most craft stores or Amazon, you might have to cut them down to size but it is pretty soft wood so it shouldn't be too hard. Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing I'm going to try it
Great, Have fun!
Thank you, Marla. You're a great teacher!
You are so welcome! Thank you for the support
Great value in the IKEA stuff!
Yes, It really is!
why the heck wont mine stay alrt
apart
Hi Frances, I assume you are meaning the rope slides toward the center of the dowels. Mine does that some times too but I just push them apart again and once i add the fruit the weight creates enough pressure to keep them in place. Hope this helps.
I decided to add for rope, like instead of 8 i had 12 to make the net part bigger
Thank you Marla, those recipes look sooo good! 🍋😋
Thanks Lori!
Love it queen
What is the thickness of the rope please?
Hi! It's standard 3 mm macrame rope.
Do you know how to macrame large glass balls? I have some from my husband's grandmother, and I'd love to hang it up as decor around the house. Thanks in advance!
I haven't made one like that before but it would be an interesting challenge. I assume the base would need to have a closely knotted basket weave pattern to hold it in place. I'll see if I can practice one and if it turns out, I'll make a future video. Thanks for the idea!
They look amazing! You guys are so cute 😊 Happy Belated Birthday 🎉 I
Thank you so much 🤗
Benim kedim onun üstüne çıkar salıncak niyetinde oturur ❤️🤗
Haha, That is awesome! A creative alternate use.
wowzerzzzzz
Thanks, sweetie!
Looks amazing
It is!
Definitely going to give this a try! They look delicious!
Hope you enjoy!
Your instructions were very easy to follow. My finished piece measures as you have indicated in comments to others posts however the hammock did not hold the fruit it just fell out.
I have had that happen too sometimes but I just move the ropes around, make sure they are all the way across the dowels, rearrange the fruit so the larger ones are on the bottom, things like that. You could also try adding a couple more rows so the knots are closer together, that might help.
Omg thank you for making a video on this! I was planning on making this for my friends birthday and had no clue where to start.
You are so welcome!
You are an outstanding instructional RUclipsr! Much respect Marla. Thanks for your intentional and thoughtful videos. The voice over was very , effective. The combination of the audio and the video together reinforces the instruction. Also, you have a great voice. The pace, comfortable volume, and calm pitch is relaxing and really helped me focus. Again, very impressive. Good luck as you continue to learn something new and share your skills with the world. Again, thank you! I don't normally subscribe to channels like this, but I subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback.
Thank you so much I’m going to be making one this week. Can you tell me how long and wide the finished hammock is if I used the rope lengths you provide?
You're welcome! I am not sure exactly sure how long it is as mine has stretched some since I have been using it. Right now, mine is about 18 inches. It is about 10 inches wide as I stretch it to the edge where the cup hook is. So it covers the length of the dowels allowing about an inch on each side for the cup hook. Some people have said theirs did not turn out long enough so if you want yours to be longer you may want to cut your ropes longer from the beginning and add some extra rows, just in case. Good luck!
Thanks you so much for getting back to me. My friend wanted it 20 inches so I will cut cords just a little longer. ❤️
The cotton rope you are using looks bigger than the 3mm 🤔 also can you add on additional ropes after completed? It's not wide enough with 8 pcs. This was a great tutorial....thank yoy
Hi, yes, It is a standard 3 mm macrame rope. I think yes; you could add more. You would just need to take out some of the knots on the side you add them onto.
Thanks so much for this video❤very happy with the one i made following your instructions 🙂
You’re welcome 😊 Glad you liked it!
Love this! Super excited to try it out, just have to get supplies :)
Have fun!
Would it still work the same if I used slightly thicker rope and dowels?
I'm not sure, but I think so. It might even make it more sturdy and hold more fruit. Not sure if the velcro version would hold the extra weight though. You might need to attach with screws.
i'm sure it would. i'm trying to figure out how to make it wider
Great ideas!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
This is so easy to follow and extremely helpful!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Oh dear!!! i just waisted so much cord! I made two at the suggested pattern and they definatley need to be wilder. they cannot hold anything! i'm going remake one, and make 10 strips at 6 1/2 feet long. looking for another pattern too.
So sorry it didn't work out for you.
Happy birthday Steve & Marla! Thank you for sharing your family recipe and memories. It was great to see Ben and Hannah help create this beautiful video and tribute!!
Thanks so much! Appreciate you, my friend!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It's very easy to follow and I'm feeling confident that I can make this 😀
You are so welcome! Yes, you should try it. You can do it! Thanks
