This setup I like to use when the person goes for an underhook from either side control or half guard. It ends up in a very tight position where the arm that is normally available to cause problems with your head and neck is now trapped.

This is a move I like when your partner has side control and is controlling the near side hip so a standard knee-in side control escape is difficult. This escape creates either a kamora style shoulder lock or they roll through and you end up with a choke and a straight arm bar.
