Brahma.
Is it possible to set this up at home? For a music room?
How was this done? Is there any behind the scenes information available? Seems like Max/MSP
very cool
can you guide how did you outline those boxes ?
What music did you use?
+Hannah Simpson-Orlebar Hi, music is by Derek Cosgrave - soundcloud.com/derek-cosgrave
great performance! All elements together
enter with the body in another dimension, space time
como puedo hacer ese efecto de iluminar solo los bordes? AYUDA porfavor
is this a combination of light box's & over head projectors?
quite hot actually!
AWESOME
Can anyone tell me if this actually had a purpose or should look like ANYTHING else than some boring and lame random visual effects surrounding some guy whose rolling on the ground and jumping all around?
I imagine something like 11:25 on a mass scale
man 10:40 it gets real good! this is sick! I can see it now.. in some years.. concert venue style shows & performance art/theater come together to create an epic dance theater play production of art and music!! sounds fucking awesome!
This would be a great project for targeted individuals to describe to others what its like being victimized by NSA technologies, MKultra, Army Intelligence, and other intelligence contractors that use ELF weapons, electromagnetic torture, directed energy weapons against innocent civilians around the world.
Absolutely amazing, and just wonderful, really. I must profess my love for this type of expression and coming together of technology and performance art.
So far all ive seen was a guy rolling back and forth on the floor! LOLZ
calidad!
en vivo se ha de ver impresionante!
Spellbinding! Entrancing! Mesmerised til the end! TY for putting this up! I have to share on FB!
Some of the music and details about it are available on Soundcloud - profile derek-cosgrave. Thanks!
When the people clapped the end I jumped of my seat
Not entirely sure at the moment but hopefully something will happen in the future.
Kind of :/
I'm not entirely sure what you are asking but I think maybe it's mad mapper. It allows the user to take the video and distort it to match a 2D or 3D object or space.
We used three projectors. One directly above, one high up over head to cover the cubes and another facing the stage, up high to avoid shadows. We tracked the dancer in real time so the interactions are not pre-rendered but live visuals.
super!
Wow!!!! I have no words.....It's amazing!!! Really art!
First 2 minutes is a baby in the whomb..?
very creative! im gonna have to share some of my ideas with you!
just listening to the music, having re-watched the video yesterday. When are you doing a show next?
Hi great production. Especially like the first part. How do you stop the projections from having a rectangle edge on them like in a cinema projection. Is this a madmapper thing/projector setting or type?
Oh my goodness - pushing the edges of dance. I like.
So, from a techie side, where was the projector placed and how did you avoid bleed/overlap with a kinetic object in the foreground? Was your dancer very precise or were you tracking/mapping him in real time? Incredibly well done. There must have been a lot of thought behind this project.
Thanks for the comments. We were very pleased with how our dancer Tom interpreted the music and the visuals. It was something new for all of us involved. As for the filming - this was a live event so we couldn't have a camera man following the dancer around on stage but I appreciate you wanting to see more of what's happening up close. It would have been nice for the purpose of documentation.
Hi, we worked off a basic idea of man's relationship with technology. We played loosely with it as it was a experiment for us. Despite our own intentions we are happy for people to interpret it in their own way.
Awesome meltin' pot. There's just a lack of sensibility in the dancer's interpretation. I mean, the aim of this performance is to break barriers between arts to enter into a kind of trance. He ought to move through the air, to play with it, to cut it. Let this body be an instrument of the music man. a dancer IS a thing. Another thing, I know it's a performance. But, imagine if the camera man filmed the dancer following his steps all around him? :Q...
There is no story behind it , does it ?
thank you so much!!
Hey, if you are into the music - search derekcosgrave on Soundcloud - we will be releasing a digital release of the music for our latest show Codes (which contains most of the music from the prototype) in the near future so follow us on Twitter and Facebook and details will be issued. Thanks.
whos the mastermind behind that tune at 9:35? <3
This is beautyful, thanks.
The cubes were done using After Effects but there are other ways - Cinema 4D or Maya for example.
For this - a combination of openFramworks, Quartz Composer, VDMX, After Effects, Ableton Live and Madmapper.
Hi, it;s really something you can google to get advice on. There are multiple ways of doing it but essentially you need to be able to animate using something like After Effects or Cinema 4D and then map the animations to a pre-built structure. For this you could use one of many options from VVVV to Madmapper or Resolume Arena.
Amazing! I always love to see combinations of ideas I've had and seen executed very well. Nice work.
i would pay so much money to watch this live
Hey, what animation software did you use for the cube outlining/animation, ive started learning cinema 4D. Im trying to learn how to do basic cube animation for a show ive got comming up. Know of any tutorials out there that can help? awesome vid by the way thanks
yeah. amazing
9:35 - 11:24 sounds so beautiful
