This particular riff might seem to miss a shorter note value. I played it as I heard it in the song. You play it like this: 4/5-5-4-4…cont 2/3-3-2-2…cont I hope this helps! Actually the reason for the pitch change on MoP is because of how it was recorded. Many songs, such as MoP and Battery were actually recorded at a much lower tempo than they appear on the final album so that they could be played as accurately as possible. Because of this, the guitars were tuned down so that they would be in the correct tuning when the master tapes were sped up. However this means it was difficult to perfectly match the recording to E Standard at 440 Hz, so the pitch is SLIGHTLY off.

@@DarkPlaysThings Wow, they really know their cheating, I guess it works as a shock effect but I could always could tell, stupid perfect pitch hearing! On the other hand tape comes a veeeery long way, I remeber fine tuning my cassette players constantly, my hearing has been a curse and a virtue at the same time. Good insight man.

This one is the Apple Horn (signature model to Swedish guitar player Mattias Eklundh in band Freak Kitchen). Sorry to say, this model is discontinued and they look to have a limited run of left handed guitars. But they have similar looking models like Horus and TAT. Check out caparisonguitars.com if you want to (I have no affiliation). Hehe, they sure used up all the e-minor riffs possible on that album!😁 Yeah, Kirk seemed to reel back all the technical escapades from AJFA going for more blusy feel. I agree with Struggle, very pertinent choice of feel in that gritty sounding piece, impressive to show and watch being played, the Un4 solo is kinda sloppy but the heart is in the right place, which goes to show what matters most, but when both come right, oh man! Incidentally I was just playing that solo yesterday after almost a 2 decades and I found myself correcting the final section to a more melodic and harmonically accurate phrasing, the start is something I don't think can be improved, is just right. I say amateurs matter, like kirk and me, and having access to stems opens the road to inspire rather than critize, you dont like it? Great! Have a go, perhaps is as good as it gets, perhaps you have a better idea, or perhaps a new twist that inspires you to broaden your vocabulary and take the good an the bad as a starting point making yourself the beneficiary instead of passive consumer.@@VemundOsland

Hey, Cthulhu!😊 It means you double (dbl) the intro melody one octave below (8vb) the main melody as shown in the tabs - it’s the harmony melody that starts on the 2nd fret A-string (the main melody starts on 9th fret on the D-string). This is if you want to play it like the album version with two lead guitars and a third on rhythm. I hope that helps! Have a great time rocking and just let me know if there was anything else! 🎸🎶🍻
