The BEST Model Train Show EVER
Просмотров 2 тыс.Месяц назад
My annual tradition of going to Greenberg’s Train Show was by far the best one I’ve ever gone to. I’ve finally gotten a locomotive I’ve been chasing for years and I’ve even met a person whose name you should definitely know if you don’t already. . . Check the links below if you want to order any RMT rolling stock: . Trainworld/ Trainland- www.trainworld.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=RMT . Pats Tr...

This mid 1950s Lionel train set was left on the curb and was supposed to be sent to the landfill. Will this postwar classic run again?
Lionel’s Most Expensive Set In 1996

One of lionels most expensive train sets of the 90s. Comparable to modern day Legacy and Vision Line trains

VINTAGE Lionel Trains- Running a 73 year old locomotive
Walkway is a common problem. I have 5 cars and everyone had to be touched up with super glue. Other than that, AOK.
It wasn't the dark age it eas the fun age it brought trains back.
Thanks for the video! Awesome!
AGREED!! I have built 3 collector cars....ground up. But I run conventional as electronic don't like me!!! I have gotten 2 PS-1, 2 Woodchip and 3 Reefers by RMT from Pats Trains. GREAT cars. PS: 30 ft box cars have many different door sizes in real life so models will too. Thx
U got to be on some crack cocaine Lionel will always be the best ever not that other crap
Great info, nice tree! Merry Xmas!
Beautiful Christmas tree 🎄
Thank you. Cut it down myself
IF the Lionel car was made in America, it would be well worth $100.00. But it isn't. Lionel and its staff are living off the name and making fortunes for themselves.
Well to be fair the RMT stuff isn’t made here either but it’s priced accordingly
I've been buying RMT products for years, I've got six of their "Beep" diesels and love 'em! My last RMT purchase was the Henning's Trains 85th Anniversary car, top quality and I'm looking forward to the battleship New Jersey cars when they show up.
I have one Long Island boxcar on preorder and 2 Raritan River boxcars as well. Can’t wait to get those
That car is on my desperately want list 🚂🙏🏻😍
Highly recommend. Amazing quality
@ I’ll definitely take your word on it
RMT is good stuff.
Thanks for taking us along. Happy Thanksgiving.
Someone bought that locomotive and cars at stouts auction, he posted a video of it running.
Huge score, impressive Berkshire!
Wow. I love that set! I agree, bring manufacturing back to the US. I love hearing this about RMT. I just bought a whole bunch more from TrainWorld. I got my first few from Mr Muffins and was really impressed with the quality for the price. Even at twice the price.
Congratulations on such a great find! Not just the engine but the display case as well! Well done! (I'm surprised you didn't lean in and inhale deeply when you opened that handsome black box! 🤣) And sure, go ahead and run that 726, that's what it was made for! I had the pleasure of meeting Walt from RMT at the York Train Show and you're 100% correct, a VERY nice man indeed! And he was a bit surprised I remembered him from the Jersey Central Historical Society newsletters from years ago. A fun video, and it was a rush seeing that 726 in action! Thanks for sharing it with us!
That brand new Lionel smell is unmistakable
I love my post-war Berkshire, the flagship of my collection. Thanks for the video!
It’s too bad Lionel went to china
Very nice layout, what size is it and what did you use to ballast your track?
Thank you. The room is very small. About 9x11 I’d say and the layout takes up the entire thing. The track is Lionel tubular track and the ballast is actually unscented kitty litter
@@DeerbrookSouthernRR very cool, I had heard some people used kitty litter, what brand did you use if you can remember and did you use the traditional method of gluing it down?
@ just regular store brand clay litter. And believe it or not none of the ballast is glued down. It stays in place really nicely even with the vibration from the train
I'm jealous my buddy Visionary Locomotive Works won the Tom Snyder C&O Hudson in the auction earlier this year, but it couldn't have gone to better hands. Check out his video on how he got it and his tribute to both Tom McComas and Tom Snyder.
It’s a great video. I was only 2 months old when that episode premiered lol
Congratulations on such a fantastic score! Very impressive looking locomotive! 💯
Thank you very much!
I purchased r m t tanker cars 2 years ago I was very impressed with the detail the hatches open the brake hoses are detailed it is a great product with out a doubt and the price is right
I actually just ordered the LIRR cannonball beer car from RMT
Lionel should bring manufacturing back to the good old usa
They probably could but the question is what are you and others willing to give up to make that happen? To keep the prices reasonable much if not all of the sophisticated electronics people are going ga-ga over would have to be left out. The electronics packages add more to the end cost than most people realise. Being a conventional runner it wouldn't bother me in the least if they were left out but it would bother others. Just saying, you know?
Ok good point but all that fancy electronics could be made here. Silicone valley is the place to pick for that and Lionel was a New York based company with many jobs to locals How about the threat we face from china, and the shipping cost and labor in china is not cheap anymore . Lionel is not cheap now wait until the export wars and trade wars begin made in America is my theme. If I was Lionel I would find how they could make there product here and cheaper. Employ Americans and keep everything in house
Great find 👍👍👍dynamite
Glad you enjoyed it
The Tom Snyder set was the best thing at the show. So cool seeing it in person. Nice 726!
Definitely wasn’t expecting that
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MPC = More Plastic Crap.
To remove rust without damaging anything, try "Evaporust". It will work wonders on a lot of that stuff!
A box of free trains on my porch, I am here for that anytime!
I’d rather leave the locomotive alone as is. The 736 is in too good of shape. Anything postwar original, I always leave alone
Great gifts , thanks for sharing !
Lionel made QUALITY PRODUCTS until the early 60s. If it was mine, I would repaint the tender.
Awesome video 😊
MTH has always been a class act. It's sad to see them so down sized.
I’ve never once had an issue with any mth product. Always great quality stuff
good review!
Glad you enjoyed it
That is a lot of smoke!!! Very cool!!
Beautiful display!!!!
Got this engine when i was 7yrs old from santa claus! Im 74 now and my grandson has it now, it still runs, and i ran the heck out of it. As a young boy at Christmas time i couldnt wait for the local hardware store to put up the Lionel trains in the window. Alas, times have changed, but Lionel still chugging along!🚂😁👍
Love the old school Lionel trains
Great information
Thanks for sharing a really great find. "Happy Rails". GMan
I love ❤ the MPC era!!! A lot of great looking and great running trains were produced in that era. Thanks for sharing and I love the video!!!
When are we going to see the trash train turn to treasure?
You did excellent restorative work on your loco and cars !! I appreciated the more moderate running speeds because most tin-platers run their trains at break-neck speeds.
The things people do are amazing!!! Why throw this stuff out? Unbelievable!! Glad you found it.
AWESOME FIND! Think I'm going to become a sanitary engineer! :)😄
What a classic #736 steam locomotive. You did a beautiful job on restoring that locomotive. Runs like factory new again! Frank
What a fantastic video my friend. You have a beautiful looking layout packed with action. I really love that you used Plasticville houses. I just subbed to your channel and will be getting caught up on your videos.💯❤️😎
The MPC era produced cheaper Lionel sets , locomotives and rolling stock. However, it was the MPC designers who gave us the needle bearing rollingstock allowing us to pull longer trains. They also gave us the scale diecast freight car trucks with real springs which put to shame the old postwar freight car trucks hands down. In time, the MPC developers reached a level of quality which matched the original postwar Lionel complete with magnatraction and steel gears. They brought back such classics as the N&W J, the 783 Hudson (which was a copy of the 1950 model Hudson), the Virginian FM (with the new Southern Pacific - which existed with the original Lionel as a prototype model only, never produced) and the GG1 with (eventually) the same quality of the original. Another thing is MPC gave us much more colorful, attractive models over the flat or rather boring postwar models (except for several of their diesels). MPC did a huge service in bringing Lionel back from bankruptcy and gave it new life and these MPC models reflect that with their vibrant paint schemes and eventual high quality re-issues. BTW, I drove my parents nuts with the "Mighty Sound of Steam"!! My parents would ask me to unplug the tender from the engine to shut it up. - Memories.
One mans trash is another mans gold! Congratulations on your latest acquisitions. What a fantastic save!
Save that's how I got all my trains some worst than that
