This is what I've gotten done in the last few weeks. I'm terrible about keeping the camera running so this is just pieces of what I've accomplished.

First video on my VW channel. Where I'm starting with the pan and body.
What was the Amazon kit you selected for this video?
Can you give me the link to the shock fittings
I added all links in a comment below with 4 comments. TAILONZ PNEUMATIC Male Elbow 1/4 Inch Tube OD x 1/4 Inch NPT Thread Push to Connect Fittings PL-1/4-N2 (Pack of 10) a.co/d/3dA4tdq
Did you use the through rods from empi?
great video! can you send the link where you bought ... thanks
Links are below in replies to comments
@@vdub618 are you using empi trough rode for beam or this works with stock... Thanks
Where in the fuse box is it wired to?
I really need to get an update up but haven’t had time. It’s currently wired in with the wipers but a new fuse box and wiring cleanup is next up and it will probably be moved then.
I bought some air shocks & this same kit for my Impala. You think I can hook up the compressor to an air tank? My thought behind that idea is so the compressor doesn’t have to turn on every time I want to add air.
Can you tell me what fittings you used and bought from Amazon to change the fittings from 1/8 to 1/4? As well as the fitting you used to connect to the fittings coming out of the shock, looks like an L angle fitting. Thanks

Great video thanks for share I will try this on my 67 beetle
cool video, do an update on where you mounted gauge and compressor if you can, thanks
So these are just air lift shocks that are used over air bags? If so, that’s pretty simple so save from having to weld in extra mounts. Any idea how the ride quality is yet?
Ride quality isn't bad with 30-40 PSI the more air the stiffer it is. On the front end of VW bugs I've looked at Airkewld and many others and they all have a air shock option I just did my own thing and it works really well. It's not fast up like air bags but it odes the trick.
@@vdub618 cool, good to know
Nice detailed video! I never tried air yet. That was a good price!
Thanks. My first stab at any air stuff. St. Louis roads will be brutal on it. I’ll update if it was worth while.
@@vdub618 Yes please do!!
It's great to see some more progress on that sweet bug! I'll second your idea about the fuel tank kit- it would be good to go with all new hoses for the tank; the vent hose, filler hose, lower fuel line to the tunnel hard line, and any hoses associated with the charcoal filter if you are running it (be sure it's plugged if not). The car is looking great, keep it up!
Thank you for stopping by. I'm looking at the gas tank kit now thanks!
Good Up-date really making progress. They make an engine lid lift for the bottom, here Cory video installing it maybe this is a better look you would like..ruclips.net/video/8_EICAJ3E8I/видео.html Enjoy the time with your son on the beetle. I just got in a big order from Wolgburg West for my 1967 bus window seal door seals wow they sure do not give away seals . Have a Merry Chritmas.Being 66 and this covid I stay in the garage, but as long as there a vw in the garage that where I would be at anyway..it my happy place where i can test my skills and be productive.
Thank you I'll check that out I have not seen the bottom stand offs. Merry Christmas ! I'll be in the garage as well until this crap is over.
Don’t feel bad! I didn’t do the chrome on the windshield either! It’s painful 😖 I like the stand offs! Dash looks great!! Steering wheel looks good, I like that style. Merry Christmas to you and your family!! Stay Safe!!
Thanks Slade very much appreciated. I am kinda debating a VW loosenuts Safari front window still up in the air. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Come on 2021:)
@@vdub618 I like the Safari window personally. Although I will admit I’ve never tried to put one on yet. I hope that your Christmas went very well in New Year is starting up nicely.
Wooow nice your vidios👍🙏🙏🙏
That chassis looks great!! Yeah the bolts lining back up can be a bit of a pain. I want to do a removable apron on my 68 I’m doing next. Easier to put a dual carb motor in. Oh yeah the parts go quick!
I thought about the removable apron idea. Maybe the next one. This is just gonna be my weekend warrior.
That's awesome!! Keep up the great work!!
VeeDub P8 thank you! It’s been a struggle
@@vdub618 that's what makes it, worth it!!
I seen the clips around the windshield and had a horrible headliner flashback. 🤦🏼♂️😂 Whatta pain! Your beetle looks great, and sounds good!
I hated doing the headliner. The one thing I think I'll hire out next time. Thank you
Sounds sweet soon you be done..I got the heater on in the garage ;it is 6am and 18F in Iowa. It will take a few hours to warm it up then I will start working on my bus. Busy times moving and trying to complete the bus making it go down the road by spring when I sell the house.
Awesome same here in St. Louis area not quite as cold but still gotta pre heat the garage. Good luck!
Nice details, on the motor, it's sounds sweet, enjoyed the up-date.
Good video!! Oh great I have the Empi Brazilian seal for mine. 🤦🏻♂️ I still need to install it. I do prefer Wolfsburg West. Probably buying my tarboard from them. I ran Weber 34s the last time around. And it was tight!
Thank! I highly recommend Wolfsburg and also had great luck with West Coast Metric. Not happy overall with the Brazilian few things I have bought door seals etc. Window seals I learned that one the hard way and only do wolfsburg now.
Vdub618 i’ve used CIP1 for a couple of things depending on what you’re buying there OK. But when I use West Coast metric or Wolfsburg West I never have to worry about the parts I’m getting. Especially window rubbers, that’s a huge deal. I bought from Wolfsburg West on that. And they were perfect nice and soft and the windshield went in very easily. Also I have a sunroof, I seen a lot of complaints about the sunroof cables which are not cheap. So I went through Wolfsburg West and not an issue they were like German quality. And when I called them with an issue one time they actually answered the phone, and answered all of my questions. They were wonderful to deal with.
Looks good!! Scat is definitely worth the extra! Wow the sway bar is close. Liken those wheels
Slades VW Beetle thank you for stopping by love watching your videos. I know some guys go without the sway bar trying to figure out what to do. I’m shooting for a 70’s vintage custom look so the wheels, soon to be roof rack, and accessories hopefully reflect that.
Vdub618 Thanks that was nice of you. I like having a sway bar. My next is a 71 Standard which will be old school when done. Yours looks good. Your theme your describing is great! Looking forward to more.
Great build, keep it up!! interesting cutout for a starting station. 🤔 That will work., just stay clear of the flywheel . Check out our channel, we are a father and son team and we make videos on vw beetles too! -GMAN & Dalton
Froslife & Just' Buggin Restorations awesome. Yeah I was trying to disassemble the trans to cut it exactly where I wanted but everything in is a rusted struggle. So I just cut it. Fits and works. I’ll have to check you guys out
Thanks for the shout out! I'm glad you were able to find some decent aftermarket tin- that saves a lot of time. Love the wire cover, brings back memories. You've made some great progress toward your October goal, keep it up!
Thanks for checking it out means alot!
Hell yeah brother!! Great work!! Keep at it!!
VeeDub P8 thank you man, dieing to drive it
You've made a lot of progress Vdub618- it will be cool to see some video of your bug with the Gateway Arch in the background!
Haptic Garage thank you so much. I’ve already got the spot for video and pics from IL side to get downtown and the Arch in the background. I shot a bunch more footage on my new iPhone but editing software don’t like its format. Trying to step up my game. Big fan of your channel thanks for stopping by😁
@@vdub618 I'm glad to check out the progress! Your bug will be a cool ride and there's a lot of beautiful places to drive in that area. I know you'll get the video tech stuff figured out- looking forward to see what you've accomplished!
Great up date wow a lot of work complete your making fast progress and spot-on with all your work. I love your detail and work methods. I would do the same level or type of work on my past projects. Question do you like spilt-window buses ?? On my videos i have the same challenge way with the camera. Most of my videos were : This is the task i need to do; then here are the parts and next i show the completed task and talked about how it was doing it. For me the past two years my body failing me so bad the only part of my vw work i can still physically do without help and lots of pain meds, is building the motors. I made a engine run test stand to break in the motors in & try different carb set-ups. I modified a lift cart from HB where i can without help build the motors on the engine stand, use the cart to transfer the motor to the engine run test stand. Then with the cart can transfer the motor to a motor cycle jack for installing in the bug or bus. The more broken my body becomes the better student of ergonomic and use of it my garage is turning into a how to for handicap persons to still work on a vw bug or bus.
I love buses actually thinking the next project will be a bus. Keep up the work and only do what you can if you were just a bit closer I would be willing to lend a hand. Or possibly plan something out to help you get a larger task complete.
@@vdub618 I have a bus for you would love to work something out with you on it so i can watch you restored, it was my retirement project but I really do not think i can do the work on it anymore. I can put it in dry storage until next spring . my e-mail dmlvette@yahoo.com e-mail me i will give you my cell phone and i can tell you about the bus. I want to see it get restored and used and enjoyed like i would have done with it.
Just sub to your channel saw you comments on Haptic Garage video. I live just north of you in Iowa have you ever attended FUNFEST car shows in Ill ???
hey man thanks! I do go to funfest every year but this one of course.
Nice work 👍
Thank you! Love your channel, tackling heater channels now that's been a real bear.
That's looking great!! Keep up the great work!!
