If anyone is in Georgia . We have the resiliency program.. it's FREE for all public safety!!
this was apart of the TEMA trust initiative there were several of them. I cant find their page did they disband???
My mom died from being dragged under a semi truck while crossing the street. My father was a fire fighter, I intend on being a police officer. There will be a child, who has lost a parent from an accident, I want to be there for them because I know they'll be going through hell. I want to get that child out of that dark place.
Please take care of your mental health on that job. Former FF/Medic with PTSD.. please watch PTSD 911.
you will make more difference than an infinity of paper Batmans.
First responders deserve just as much respect as military
God bless all our first responders, true hero’s who a lot of the time go unrecognized
Someone's whose dancing has mental issues? So let me get this straight. Someone who has the balls to dance like no one's watching, doing their own thing happy, and making others smile in the process.., has mental issues? I mean call me crazy but, i think we need way more people like them
Bravo! But for me this video struck one bum note: At the end, the guy warns us not to be fooled by a "youthful attitude". That phrase is an example of the very ageism this video is meant to be challenging. Why? Because what he means by 'youthful' is bold, dynamic, optimistic - an mindset that one can have or not have at ANY age. Let's stop using "youthful" as shorthand for things we all aspire to be at every stage of life. Otherwise, good job on the video!
🤣
CISD(Critical Incident Stress Debriefing) We all need from time to time, dont hold it in Talk to each other especially those who are envolved in what we do Paid or Volunteer, we all matter because we make a difference to so many....
These calls just come out of nowhere and you don’t realize how much they bother you until years later. Decompress get it off your chest when you do feel like hurting yourself. The honeymoon stage of the job wears off after a while
Not even funny
PTSD is no joke guys I fought it for twenty years and am just now on day two of medication
I hope you're doing well, and that your medication helps- I've been in a constant back and forth with my PT to find the medication that helps my anxiety and it's such a struggle. Don't be discouraged if the medication you're on doesn't work like you hoped- there's plenty of different kinds of meds for a reason, i'm certain you'll find a medication that works for you! Hope the one you're on now is it.
I want to thank all first responders and medics,a year ago a nurse took her lif in the middle of a busy street because of what she witnessed durring the pandemic,we truly are shielded by these people from the cruelty of this world ❤
Omg that’s Mr. Boyd! Neat.
😄😄😄
Hey newcomers to EMS and/or Fire Service: you are allowed to feel these things too. I don't care how long you've been in the service, if you've been on a call (or run) and its hitting you, reach out. I am also here for you, as a fellow medic/firefighter who is struggling.
Damn that hit hard
Scary
2010- May-1st shift 911 Where is your emergency? *frantic horrified screaming & wailing* Mam, I need you to calm down and tell me where you are! *More Horrified screaming and wailing* Mam, PLEASE! Listen to me, I have to know where you are! *Uses loud assertive voice* GIVE -ME -YOUR- ADDRESS! {-Insert monotone voice of fate: April you are dispatching alone today & you’re about to find out this is a mother who fell asleep with her baby on her chest, she woke to find her Infant under her, now blue & not breathing. The details she describes to you are disturbing & gut wrenching. Though You just returned today from bereavement leave after losing your own baby daughter at 10 months old, THIS is going to be your first 911 call upon returning, & you HAVE to calm her, talk her through it, and assure her help is fast on the way. Somehow You will manage to do everything perfect, ems, fire, & police responding in record time, you sound calm and professional despite the raging emotions inside, only to hear the officer, now on scene call out to you “449”- the baby did not survive- this call will haunt you for the rest of your life- & you won’t see it for a while but this will also later become the Catalyst in how serious & to heart you will forever take your job & find pride in your profession & those in it, once again.} #FirstRespondersStrong #IAM911 #ThinGoldLine
Everyone must blinks!

firefighters are heros, but FUCK the police. Seeing a sobbing little piggy is so fucking good
As a member of EMS I feel uniquely qualified in calling you a POS.
My grandpa was a firefighter. He died of cancer when he was 72. That’s leading cause of death. Many of his friends and coworkers died from the 2nd, suicide.
What do they mean by the child was dragged underneath the vehicle?
The child went under the vehicle or its tire, got stuck between it and the road and was pulled along until the vehicle came to a stop or they came out the other side.
We lost a bunch of medics in our county to suicide. Its why we as a county have worked to change our view on PTSD since then and it has helped significantly as well.
I’ve ran this exact call
hipe you're doing alright man
It’s mr Boyd
One of the most powerful PSAs I have ever seen.
goosebumps
I was a paid firefighter for 29 years, and I read something today that I want to share. I would much rather sit for 4 hours listening to the shit you are going through than to sit for 15 minutes listening to your eulogy. Remember that. There are those of us who are willing and ready to listen. Take care brothers and sisters.
I'm right out of high school and hopefully almost in a local VFD. That is something I'll always remember sir.
@@theww2girl141 good luck in your career. Keep your eyes and ears open, ask questions, learn. Be careful.
@@kentcarter835 Thanks sir. One thing I've been doing for almost a year now (can't believe its been that long already), is pre studying, and that has really helped me a lot. (going over Hyperkalemia right now actually)
@@theww2girl141 good job!
@@kentcarter835 Thanks sir. Studying medical is a lot of fun, its a great way to spend an evening.
No one else will see what we see. 1st responders all..
Good job Mr. Boyd
All emts and fire men are heroes in my eyes. I salute all of you
I have 33 years with Halifax ; going this year because I have seen enough
29 years, Texas. Retired and for the same reason.
That's what I needed to finally cry
Right. We get calls of mvc when in reality its a mvc with 3 young kids ink the back
What's the background song?

Many memories of many many calls that I wish I could forget.

I stand by the U.S. Military and the Cops They have their lives put on the line and they should be appreciated, I can't understand why people would say, "It's not that bad", or "The Cops suck", because I support them 100% percent. If you are a former or current cop or veteran, God bless you, and thank you for your service.
Edit: anybody that has a job involving fighting for us or protecting us.
I have been a firefighter since 1971, 15 yrs. with a paid/volunteer fire fighter, 32 years as a career fire fighter. Ok, I started in my junior year in high school. I was diagnosed with PTSD late last fall. Soon to retire, occasionally I have dreams of the fatal fires that I have been on. Still going through counseling. The counselor stated I had PTSD without even knowing it. I loved my job and it will always be an honor that I have served mankind. It is not a sign of weakness to get help.
I proudly spent 15 years on the job in both law enforcement, and as a tactical paramedic/ firefighter (both paid and vol). I encourage all of my brother and sisters who have ever worked a call...please if you still hear the lights and sirens, if you wake up to the radio traffic even decades later, please get help. It's out there. And the only shame would be if we have to say goodbye too soon.
I worked a bad DUI accident a couple of weeks ago head on collision mail drunk driver collided with a Volkswagen Beetle three young women inside the vehicle both up front passenger and Driver lived as I checked the backseat passenger she mumbled help me and that was it she died they are only 19 that has haunted me ever since sometimes I'll be in the kitchen doing dishes cleaning the house just sitting and I can feel the jaws of life in my hands hear the radio traffic everything even cutting grass on the zero-turn I feel like I'm holding the equipment and I'll look and I'll see the scene of the accident right there in front of me my wife has to snap me out of it been a firefighter for 5 years ran many calls but this one for some reason has bothered me even with my fire radio sitting on the counter I'll hear tones drop and hear the same exact call go out and the flashbacks come at me
@@scottbobo4757 jesus christ that’s terrifying to imagine
@@scottbobo4757I still remember a lot of the faces that didn’t make it.
@@scottbobo4757 I hope you're doing well.
Was deep and gave me chills. Definitely Gonna show my Department this.
Thank you.
100% accurate.
I knew a firefighter that had ptsd that passed away from a suicide
Trauma protocol is easy. Its what is left over that makes it hard. PTSD sux
Powerful stuff, from a new perspective
Right on the money. Gave me goose bumps.
Same here
Same!!!
I'm going to show this to my station
Dont
@@uriahbrown1768 Why not? Its a good video.
and nice three alert tones from the classic NBC tv series ":Emergency!" in that PSA about firefighters and PTSD!!!!
I caught onto that tone right away! I was like "Woooow..........they really used that PA tone from the show?" I was waiting to hear Station 51.
