Honda Civic with CRX wheels | 3D Printing to the Rescue
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.6 месяцев назад
90-91 Honda CRX Si Wheels on a 92 Civic Hatchback. I think these wheels were ahead of their time and should have been released with the EG hatch. Watch me fail at another technique I though might work for masking the H's with some 3D printed blocks. Ultimately 3D printing saved the day and I was able to print some "inserts" that were painted black and glued into the center caps before 3 coats o...

Thank you so much for this video as well I did the same thing to a dashboard I scored at my local junkyard. Now mine looks fire 🔥 thanks to you 🙌🏾🙏🏾
Sweet I'm glad it worked for you too!
@@MakeItSohey bro question what was the paint code to that grey you did on the bezel?
@@miguelvelez4494 oof I'm not sure. I don't think I have the can anymore sorry. But after I shot this video I ended up painting it the same black as the dash. I didn't like the Silver after all.
Just got my rgb pi and I'm just curious how i enable a turbo button?
Not entirely sure. I usually play with the controls for games as-is. Lookup how to open the retroarch menu, I know you can set it up in there.
Its really nice. No light up marquee? 😭 Also, dont like the round speakers. Real arcades never looked like that.
The marquee lights up. I do want to put some grilles over the speakers.
Awesome video. What wires did you swap at the ECM, and why? TIA
Hey there! Thanks for watching. I have two videos that should answer your question. ruclips.net/video/UyHwYoXOwhA/видео.html ruclips.net/video/4uH8sB6mvEU/видео.html
Hmm can i use d series speedsenaor for my itr lsd gearbox to?
I'm not sure about that. This is a Y1 cable B series transmission.
Hi man, great video. What wire stripper tool are you using? Thanks
amzn.to/3TLMbHk I use one similar to this
@@MakeItSo Thanks!
What scart to component adapter are you using? Also does this use retroarch to emulate? am i able to use cheats and everything that retroarch has to offer?
The converter is by a company called Retrotink. I'm pretty sure this system is reteoarch based but you can check the Rgb-pi wiki for more info.
@@MakeItSo Thanks for the info!
Super nice bro love the color combo with the dash. Great job 🙌🏾
Thanks! Appreciate it!
Hey brother great video. Are you able to keep the AC in the car after the swap?
Yep! Stock AC still fits exactly where it should.
@@MakeItSo right on brother
The CBS FOX intro does it for me....I have been looking for years for that one!
Yeah, it definitely triggers some memories.
Hi there can u make a video how to adjust the coilovers for My honda Civic 2003 are like those u r instaling
I don't think I'll have time to make a video specific to that but there's probably several if you search on youtube for that subject.
wow !! awesome build ! you are a true handyman
I'm following in your footsteps, I've purchased the donor parts for the rear brake exchange. Did you purchase a bushing kit? Or did you buy the bushings individually? I need to replace everything under my car and the kit would be convenient, I'm unsure however if the kit for my car is compatible with the rear brake assemblies....
I purchased a full suspension kit from Energy Suspension. In my case the rear disc conversion didn't change any of my bushing needs. I have lots of bushings I didn't use in the end, but some of those are for if you're replacing bushing on the factory shocks and things like that. I have coilovers so I didn't use them. But I think it's still worth it to get the kit if you want to do everything.
Ik this video is old but please please please link or add the cabinet design and scale to the description
I followed this guide. Exceptional amount of information here. retromash.com/2016/05/01/building-a-home-arcade-machine-part-7-cabinet-plans/
In the process of restoring my cx hatchback also.... i appreciate your content . Keep it up
Thanks for watching!
Why the aftermarket fenders? Was it just easier for paint?
They were an impulse buy when I first got the car two years ago so I figured I'd use them. I didn't do a good job of showing it off but the stock fenders have a bunch of dings, dents, and deep scratches. I figured this would save me some time, since I already had them sitting around.
@@MakeItSo I see, thank you! Fantastic content as always
Thanks for watching!
first!
Nice! Thanks for watching as always!
How did those 4 torx for the spindle come out so easy for you ;-; i had to put a oxyacetylene torch on multiple of them so far, stripped two, theyre driving me crazy
I guess it depends on the condition of the metal. I hit them with some PB Blaster then with the impact gun and they popped right off. When I did the same on my CRX I stripped one and ended up welding a metal bar to the head of one to be able to get it out. They are super frustrating.
What about the United Artists intro? That was solid gold! 🤩
I haven't come across that one yet in my collection but I'll keep an eye out for it.
Is there a detailed guide with pictures for the engine wiring?
For building the VTEC waiting harness? I go over it in it's own video. Most of the info I used for this swap came from here. honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/b16a-crx-swap-guide-1193782/
Keep up the work and the fantastic documentation. Enjoyable to watch!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it!
Круто. Гениально и просто
Thanks for watching. I hope it was helpful.
Do you have the part numbers for those engine mounts or a link?
I believe these are the ones I have but double check the fitment for your specific application. Seems like the price has gone up since I purchased mine. hasportperformance.com/products/egstk-mount-kit/
@@MakeItSo thank you!
@@robotstampede No prob!
If you run into issues with highspots and "oilcanning" (the metal being stretched), I recommend using a shrinking disc. It worked very well for me and is more forgiving than acetylene torch and hammer.
Thanks for the advice! Today I learned what a shrinking disc is.
Awesome build are you planning on doing the rest of the plastics in the interior black as well like the dash? 👍🏻
Yes 100%. I also have black door cards from a 1995 Civic Si, and I'll probably pull the light blue headliner and paint it black as well. Thanks for watching!
@@MakeItSo awesome! I have a 94 si and I want to black out the rest of the interior that is painted grey like the front pillars/rear and the headliner 🤓.
The speedometer sometimes the solder on the back get dry and you need to carefully reflow the solder. If that doesn't work you can just replace the speedometer with another one it's just 3 screws
Cool thanks for the info. I'll try some solder first!
Damn I was expecting more, but I will wait😂. Good shit though.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, I hope to get back into it as soon as possible.
That MAACO quote is absolutely ridiculous!
I know, I couldn't believe it.

Tri Star is so perfect
One of the best!

Wedding singer is in every place that still sells DVD or VHS, its everywhere!!!
It's the Adam Sandler effect. I would argue that Wedding Singer is his best film. For me it's just a matter of when it came out and how I first watched it. For me VHS tends to be 80's and very early 90's stuff. Sandler is on the cusp of DVD.
Boy, when will you ever be able find time to watch these. Maybe if you have a new baby or something and just have lots of time at home cuddling or something?
Maybe! I've basically turned my home office into a video rental store at this point.
Any HDDVD's? Haha.
Haha, just biding my time till I get to work on my cars again.
Since no one else mentioned it yet, that mountain biker is fit. It may be an ebike but he's covering a lot of ground very quickly.
He rides neck and neck with the dirt bikes. We beat him uphill, but he smokes us downhill.
I don't know how many times I've ridden those trails. Since the early 70's when I was 13, nothing but trees for the restrooms. When 13 went out Tejon trail got lost had some hikers tell me go that way which was Pirute creek. That trail was frightening. Getting to Gold Hill road was the happiest day of my life. Still remember that ride to this day. My first experience being lost and sweating Gas on my way to big for pre puberty Bultaco 250 Pushang. Had a steel 1 gal gas can bungee'ed to the front forks.
That's a great memory, thanks for sharing.
Can you make me some inserts on my si wheels too? Rather do your way for my resto

Nice job man. How many cans per wheel?
I think I needed about 3 cans for 4 wheels. But I had 4 cans so I used them.
Here what I think Part 4 should have: Random House Home Video (both variants) Prism Strand/VCI Entertainment Strand Home Video Sony Wonder Media Home Entertainment Video Treasures Jim Henson Productions Jim Henson Home Entertainment (the one that traces the Jim Henson name)
I don't have any VHS tapes with those intros but I'll be on the lookout. Thanks for watching!
hey bro hope you’re doing well, im also redoing my rear suspension and i just wanted to know what spray can of black did you use for the trailing arms
I've been using this stuff for trailing arms and subframe stuff. Just let it cure for a few days if you can wait and it'll be good to go. www.amazon.com/dp/B000PIK1YC?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder_k0_1_16&=&crid=3G94TNGG6ILP3&sprefix=rustoleum%2Benamel&th=1

Where is The Crankshaft Sensor on This Motor? When You Take The Crankshaft Bolt Off, Which Way Does It Loosen?
I think the crankshaft sensors on these motors are actually a signal that comes from the distributor. I never took apart the bottom end on this motor so I don't have experience with the crankshaft bolt.
@@MakeItSo when you took off the pulley, which way does that nut turn to come off?
@@Iseekoutthetruth Lefty loosey, just like all the others.
@@MakeItSo ok thanks.
This product is compact. I think my dad will enjoy
Yes it is. Thanks for watching!
What would make this video more nostalgic is adding more 80s and 90s logos like Random House, Strand/VCI, Sony Wonders, FHE, Prism, Media, and more
Check out my other video for Part 2. I only pull the logos from VHS tapes I actually own but FHE is definitely in there. Part 3 coming soon.
Would be awesome if next time you tried some ND filters. Great content as always!
Great suggestion!
I’m eager to try this with a pi! Thanks for showing the cable and converter. Mostly I’ve been pushing 480i from a computer to a crt. I was wondering if you could tell a major difference when doing 240p instead of 480i?
I can't really tell a difference between 240p and 480i since I haven't compared them directly. The biggest difference here is the RGB output from the Pi to the Component input of the TV which makes the image much sharper and clearer and the native scanlines of the TV much more pronounced than if you were using Composite input.
