    Sick Nina- impressive. How come you don’t use qcf + 1 in neutral? I have seen other Ninas use it like a ewgf, but you rarely use it outside combos

    • @Prinzeprincess
      @Prinzeprincess 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you! So to answer your question, let's start with the ewgf comparison. Kazuya's ewgf is a fast (11 frames) safe (+5) launcher on normal hit that has the added pressure from the crouch dash mixup. It is a high but you're not usually ducking it but when you do the recovery is quick. That being said ewgf is an amazing high reward approach tool. Oh and it chips. Nina's qcf1 is a 14 frame high move that is only +1 on block that only launches on counter hit. Nina doesn't have the threat of wavedashing and at high ranks everyone hard ducks Nina. If they see you going for the crouch dash input, ducking beats a good portion of her options. Because it is slower than ewgf, it is more susceptible to being punished. That being said, it's still a good move, you just need to be more intentional using it. Think of it less as a tool used to approach but more so as a counter hit/frametrap tool. qcf1 tracks to Nina's weak side (the left) and also at wall if the opponent presses after, you can go for 23 (guaranteed on counter hit) into throw mixup for pretty big damage and depleting grey health. Also this video is a bit older now and I have some footage that I need to upload as I've been changing up my gameplan and exploring more options (like using qcf1 a tiny more after I realized what I just typed to you). Hope this helps!

    I have return in Tekken after arround 20 years because i couldnt stand to watch my Nina getting uglier since T4 - T7 but now they make her beautiful again almost like Original Nina i ve decided to come back. The problem is that all these new styles and methods of T8 are light years away from Tekken Tag in ps2 haha. I wish i could play like you some day. The match with Jun @ 9 minutes if i am right, it was fantastic, the oposite of Victor's who used so match bullet spam... Win without honor is no win at all. I just subbed this Nina is nasty!! Question! I just picked up Nina myself. When you hit a heat engager and start running at your opponents, what are the best options for the low mixup and high mixup? When I hit an engager my mind just goes blank! So I would just df1 2 for the mid mixup and db 3 for my low mixup but I know I can get more damage out of those situations! Any advice would help!! Love the content!

    • @Prinzeprincess
      @Prinzeprincess 10 месяцев назад

      Thank you so much!! To answer your question, it really depends. What is your opponent doing, have you conditioned them, where are you on the stage, can they break throws, are they in rage/heat, etc... There's no right answer and a lot of it is situational awareness. For right now stick with what you're doing and as you develop more game knowledge, you'll be more prepared in those situations.

    • @Zachebi
      @Zachebi 10 месяцев назад

      Just go for a grab or a launcher if you dont want to get heaps technical, its as basic a 50/50 gets. Dont talk about high/low mixups because they can just be entirely crouched, mids and lows/throws. Highs are for the frame advantage.

    • @Zachebi
      @Zachebi 10 месяцев назад

      @@zackariahp1873a good mixup for moving in outside of heatdash is her qcf 3,4 (extend with1+2 on hit confirm) and her qcf 3. I’d advise learning her sidestep cancels too. One you use them a few times you should be able to land her wavedash chain throws easier as its a mindgame if you’re even going for a throw then.

    • @Zachebi
      @Zachebi 10 месяцев назад

      But yeah dont overthink the run-in after heat engagement, they have no time to do anything but duck or stand block. So just have a launcher and grab in mind, 50% chance it works the first time then its a mindgame after that, ninas lows dont tend to go anywhere unless they mash

  • @Alexavian
    @Alexavian 10 месяцев назад

    Idk if they made moves recover quicker on whiff or they mafe back 1+4 4 portion slower but it's been hard trying to whiff punish with it now

    • @Prinzeprincess
      @Prinzeprincess 10 месяцев назад

      Yeah… I find it more consistent to whiff punish with db3+4 but I’ve been trying to use b1+4 more because it’s faster, so it’s been very annoying missing some punishes. You just have to time it really well now

    • @Prinzeprincess
      @Prinzeprincess 10 месяцев назад

      Also the range is deceptively short because if you miss the first part of b1+4 you get launched so that’s something to keep in mind as well

    I love how Nina is basically anti-Victor spam with her movement haha. How do you deal with people spamming during your f4 ss1 pressure? I understand that mixing it up with ss4 can help but if they mash you can sometimes still get caught out. Any advice?

    • @Prinzeprincess
      @Prinzeprincess 10 месяцев назад

      When playing against Victor, I like to sit back a bit and observe how they play. Victor's gameplan is pretty one dimensional but he can catch you out pretty easily. Make space and let the Victor player come to you, block/step and punish the running move, block the sweep and launch, know what stance transitions are fake, etc. Basically just sit back and let them make a mistake and punish them for it.

    • @Prinzeprincess
      @Prinzeprincess 11 месяцев назад

      Thank you! The moves I do change depending on the character I'm facing and how the opponent plays but in general these moves get used every match: df1 - really fast mid poke, one of her best moves df12~iws4 - after doing df12f, iws 4 is good at catching opponents who like to duck Nina's strings, very fast and only gets beaten by jabs ss1 - main wall pressure tool with cancels, makes opponents afraid to press because of mixup potential and potential wall combos, still good outside of wall pressure too f1+2 - blonde bomb is really good in this game, power crush heat engager and it's fast, use it as a read f42 - One of Nina's new strings, fast heat engager that is hit confirmable, can cancel the first hit into sidestep, also airborne so it bypasses parries, you will get floated by jabs and counter hit by lows so dont be surprised b22 - safe fast high homing move db2 - homing mid, a bit slow but counter hit launches, decent range, can high crush d2 - low that tracks a bit, short range, i like to mixup with db2 as the animations are sort of similar uf1 - orbital, safe, low crushes uf343 - can opener is one of my favorite round closers, very seeable though, use sparingly, can cancel into sidestep after 4 to make it somewhat safer df2 - 15 frame safe launcher, just throw it out as nina's combo damage is super high this game, you give up your turn but its not that big of a deal ws14 - catches opponents ducking in anticipation for the guns, you get a free follow up and oki, makes the opponent afraid to duck so you can condition for gun chip damage in heat db3 - somewhat fast low at least for nina 1+4 - looks linear but tracks a bit, good against evasive opponents (xiaoyu) db3+4 - my go to whiff punish b34 - hit confirmable, can combo at wall with db43 I hope this helps and is a good starting point!

      Thank you so much! So I watched a bit, and I can tell you're at the point where you need to study the game in depth. As you climb up, a lot of the stuff you were doing will get you punished. You have to be very intentional with your offense as NIna as literally everyone knows her strings at high level. I would recommend really going through her move list and memorizing it because NIna literally has every tool at her disposal, it's just difficult to know when to use what move but that comes with time. Also watch some combo videos and learn the hard stuff (butterfly loops and combos using db2) as the difference in damage and wall-carry between the hard and easy stuff is not negligible. Hayashida step is also more important now than ever. Set up some drills to do daily and you'll start to see progress; I would recommend at least an hour of practice each time you boot up the game. Simultaneously, you have to learn frame data for each character so you can punish effectively. I know this is a lot to take in and the advice I gave is time consuming, but I hope this helps if you really want to reach top level!
