I thought Covenant was the worst in the franchise. Even worse than Alien Resurrection. Resurrection was a dumpster fire, but at least it took some big swings as far as direction and world building went. They definitely were not all home runs, but the effort was there. With this one, it just felt like an even shittier verson of Prometheus. Like Ridley Scott told everyone on the set "We're gonna do it again, same as before. But this time, were going to double the amount of Fassbender and give everyone frontal lobe lobotomies. Aaand ACTION!"

The point is that it that it further demonstrates what Ash said in the first film. "Unclouded by conscience, remorse or delusions of morality." Aliens picks you up just to drop you further than you've ever fallen. Sure, narratively, it is a complete waste. Thematically, it's perfect.

I have no words for how great this summary is. I’ve watched Tenet over 30 times and I admittedly had a sound understanding of the film before watching this summary. But this summary approaches a fairly straightforward film masquerading as a complex story in a comedic and lighthearted manner. Well done 👏🏽

Hands down, the best episode opening ever! I had the same look on my face when the end credits rolled on Tenet, the first time I watched it...and the 10th! And don't think we didn't notice the red/blue thing you've got going on in the intro...

I know this video is 8 months old, but it's been chilling in my watch queue for a bit, and I'm glad I finally watched it As to your big question, re the locked door, I think reverse Niel comes up on an open door, and he has to use reverse lock picking to set it open. A conventional door can be unlocked easily by a reversed person, but can only be locked by a skilled lock picker, because the entropy is reversed. This is the only solution I can think of that meets the "conservation of entropy" rules that the movie states: Ie, when reversed, conventional objects will naturally go from states of less entropy (locked) to more entropy (unlocked), but will take energy to move in the opposite direction, unlocked to locked, which is why Niel needs to be there

the reactions to Tenet is what happens when people get used to "turn your brain off! it's just a movie!" for so long tenet is simple as fuck. just like inception was simple as fuck. but back then the people were used to being engaged with the movies they watch and so most were confused at first but then afterward they would be able to figure it out just by thinking. now they just want to see beautiful landscapes and people fighting for equality or whatever and think that's what makes a good movie. basically, ten years of brain atrophy has occurred since inception lol.

Okay. I just rewatched Tenet for at least the fifth time and I have a controversial take now. I want a sequel. When Neil says they "get up to some stuff" at the end, it makes me want to see that stuff.

Because Pasadena and Burbank are far apart. 😆 That Burger King in Burbank is still there but the garage is just a parking lot now. The Doc house ( Gamble House ) is still there in Pasadena. Wish Hill Valley was a real town instead of just a Universal Studios lot. And I wish they weren't going to tear down the Puentes Hills mall in City of Industry where they filmed the DeLorean scene in the parking lot.

Why does the protagonist not recognise the plutonium-241 as NOT being 241 during the opera siege? The realisation doesn’t hit him until the highway scene where he tells Neil, “This isn’t plutonium,” but how can he know that? Nothing in his experiences between the opera and the car chase indicate when and where he learns this (which would give reason for him to react to it like he does). It’s the same object he was in possession of during the opening act, and we assume all the events between the opera and the highway with potential for him to learn this are on-screen considering how much information he (and the audience) is given during these moments. He essentially gets his hands on it once, takes it at face value without questioning anything, loses it, kills himself during interrogation (fake cyanide pill so he doesn’t actually die), gets recruited by Tenet, receives a lot of information about his new mission and objective but NOT anything about plutonium covertly being a piece of the algorithm… yet somehow has the foresight and wherewithal to recognise the case with the 9th piece of algorithm as being… exactly that. He obviously doesn’t *quite* know this but he at least has enough presence of mind to know it’s not plutonium. Nothing in the film’s onscreen dialogue and exposition prior to this moment gives it away and it’s not until his conversation with Priya where they mention the collapse of the Soviet Union that she mentions anything revealing but again, this is after the fact (chronologically it’s technically before the events of the car chase but from the perspective of the protagonist it’s after) and is therefore insufficient reasoning for him to know the plutonium is NOT plutonium during said scene. Huge plot hole that isn’t really explained and instead acts upon the viewer making an assumption about the protagonist that through his years of experience with the CIA is able to recognise the markers for radioactive material (and discovers in the car on the highway that they aren’t present).

I said this on my first view. From the protagonists view, this is a straight forward movie. Thank you!
