    Thank you for this post. Since I am a true and very dedicated boxer (I trained even on Christmas) that competes, I will shadow box 12 to 18 three minute rounds in regards to my boxing training. Shadow boxing is essential and often overlooked because as a boxer, I can work and improve my technique, form, movement, speed, defense, counters, punch combinations, switching hitting, shifting, etc. In my opinion, shadow boxing and focus mitts are the two best forms of boxing training that will improve your sparring and performance for fights! God bless you and thank you for this important reminder. 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️

    Some good tips but way too much emphasis on the attributes of mitt work. Mitt work is way overrated! It’s choreographed and to mechanical, the absolute opposite of a real fight. It gets the mind and body used to reaction to a pre programmed set of movements. In a fight your opponent will do a myriad of things that you must react or abate spontaneously.

      I don't think you understand but when you build muscle memory your body will be able to react quickly I advice you to work on a counter combo like slip uppercut parry jab anything like that building that muscle memory would be devastating because once it becomes muscle memory it won't really take long before your brain realizes its in the situation you worked so hard on tank davis has accurasy cus he trained so hard with MIT work please do your research

    Sprints are better than long distance or just jog and sprint on and off for 2-5 miles

    • @awilliams3881
      @awilliams3881 День назад

      all energy systems need to be trained for optimal performance. sprint repeats will train your ability to recover after flurries of hard punches but without a aerobic base it wont matter how fast your anerobic system recovers if your aerobic base is fatigued. you can build your anaerobic system all you want but without a solid vo2 you will gas quick. you should build your aerobic cap/power with zone 2/3 training around 16 w/o then during camp around 8 w/o build the alactic anerobic/atp systems with HIIT and SIT training

      Im an amatuer boxer. You need to join a club have your coach help set you up if your younger and you need to get licensed under usa boxing if your older im sure you can do this yourself but you will need a coach/team your coach will help you look for events so you can sign up to fight in places like the golden gloves or just tornaments for amatuer boxers at places

    A bodybuilder is stiff in boxing not due to his strength, power or size. But because he has trained his muscles for hypertrophy, activating the slow twitch muscles. For if you have a strong and muscular physique, inherently that is no disadvantage at all. If you train for endurance and agility, in fact, it is an absolute advantage.

    I’ve been boxing for around six months at a boxing gym. A guard can depend on some things personally I like to shift around with it but a good beginner guard is to put your gloves on your temples so when a jab or cross comes your way you can close the gap and not get hit

    100% facts! Thats exactly how i developed headmovement and been doing everything mentioned in this video on headmovement excersises. But theres more about headmovement then just slipping punches, i use it in rythem so help not being so predictable or to jave my head in a safe position as i throw certain punches, etc... i especially like to cross my slipline like canelos in this clip, precision striking did a video on it years ago for those that want to check it out. But i love doing that workout, it is a fun one and its good training for useing footwork with headmovement while punching and moving and i get into that drill. I like the maize bag too. I made a maize bag with a bag of rice and a black sock, and as i work the maize bag i have a mirror right infront of me and when looking in the mirror i dont stare at the maize bag i look into my upperchest/neck area as i do in a fight ,and i slip and work the maize bag and i see it while keeping my eyes focused on the upperchest area, i slip, dip, roll, pull, as i shadowbox with the maize bag swinging and i keep my eyes focused and i use good formand technique, and the mirror will show you if you have any bad form. Theres times my coach cant watch everyone so closely so i still pay attention to form and technique the best i can and of coarse listen to my coach

    I think tank ain't that good he's only good with weight drain or rehydration clause contracts . only good fighter tank has fought was pitbul and tank couldn't do anything to pitbull not even knock him out pitbull was full of energy after the 12 rounds tank was exhausted pitbull didn't have to weight drain like all the other boxers tank has fought and we see all the time in boxing 90 percent of time the person that has to weight drain ends up losing badly that's why tank looks like he can switch it up styles it just weight drain by the 5th and 6th round ur body start giving up and by that time fighters are drain that's when tank see that and bamm k.o but I guess that what they call a Technical fighter these days . It's a great advantage to boxing and money .people fall into that trap all the time but learn the hard way all the big guys want to fight tank and think its that easy but tank aint dumb he knows what he's doing . That's like if tank went up to 145 to fight all his opponents he probably lose badly .there alot of real good fighter out there with out the bs contract like Crawford Mayweather ect ect that would go up weight to fight other opponents and still be champion but tank knows better not to that's like tank going up 147 to fight ryan but I think tank aint that skilful to make moves like other real true fighter
