Crochet and Chat - Redoing a sweater project that I started 11 years ago. Come hang out with me.
Hello everyone. This video started as one thing and ended up another. I have a huge bin of projects that I have either gotten bored with, I had to set aside because life got in the way or they didn't turn out like my imagination wanted them to. In this case, it's a cotton sweater that I started after my craft store closed in 2012. (Long story.) I got all the squares done, hooked them together and ugh...I did NOT like it. So into the bin it went. This video demonstrates me undoing what I did then and revamping it. I have learned a lot more in the 11 or so years so I also took the time and redid the woven ends, I had to make more squares to make it look better. Once I started recording. som...

Hello everyone! This is a 30 ish minute video where I demonstrate how to make this simple what I call a Ferris Wheel Square. I used a K hook and Caron Cakes yarn which I had never used before. I have to say that I loved working with this yarn! The main stitches used are double crochet and triple crochet so it goes very fast. There is some counting but not a lot. I then make another one and time...

The Gritty Beanie - An Easy Crocheted Ribbed Hat

This is a super fun ribbed crochet beanie that I call the Gritty Beanie because it has a lot of texture. It is similar to the basic ribbed single crochet beanie that most of us know...but with a little twist. I discovered it by accident and I am so glad I did because it worked up fast and turned out so cute! I just know you are going to have fun making this! Music by Bensound.com/free-music-for...
No Border Easy Crochet Baby Afghan
Просмотров 40 тыс.11 месяцев назад
This is a very quick and easy baby afghan to make and it does NOT need a border! It creates one as you go! How cool is that?! I used "baby" yarn and a size G hook for this project which has been in my UFO bin for at least 10 years! HAHA! You can also do this pattern with worsted weight yarn. I have made 4 adult sized afghans with this pattern as well as hats, scarves and headbands! To view a he...
Finishing Up My Red Heart Granny Square All In One Afghan

Finishing Up My Granny Square All In One Afghan- A quick video on how I join, how I weave in the ends, how I did the border. I had to do a voiceover on this one because of rowdy dogs and cats, planes, humans, etc! I added some music just to fill in the lulls in my rambling. Music courtesy of Bensound.com I won't make another one unless the yarn price drops drastically. But I had fun doing it. E...

Crocodile Stitch Beaded Slippers For Kids
Просмотров 3,3 тыс.8 лет назад
This video is for Crocodile Stitch Beaded Slipper For Kids. The size is adjustable but these ended up being for a 2-4 year old, a 5" foot, but can be adjusted for kids 4-7 or so. I recorded this on my phone, which I have never done before so it's a mess but I wanted to get it out there because I have so many questions about children's sizes. Please forgive the sloppiness. 2024 add: Ugh! Sorry a...

Beautiful thank you x x ❤
Jaimie yarn with baby also offered this pattern as well as tbe Mile-A-Minute
Thank you! I had these hooks but didn’t know what to do with them. I love this pattern. I’m making a blanket for my granddaughter. I’ll post a pic when it’s done. Congrats on making your own hooks. GIRL POWER!!
Could you please write the directions to make this blanket? I've tried to write down the transcript but am still having trouble.
Love this! Thanks so much for sharing! How big do you typically make your baby blanket? I’m new to crocheting and didn’t realize I needed to purchase the same dye lot of yarn. Needless to say, my pinks do not match, so I’m stuck trying to decide what to do now. 😅
I love that there is no border required and no long chain to start!
Is this child size or an adult size?? I’m making one for my Mother.
Hi. It's for an adult. What color are you doing?!!
Love this ! Thank you for sharing your gift !
I'm from Tacoma, in Eugene Oregon now. Thanks for the pattern. 😊❤
I just found you and am thrilled! Creating a written pattern could be taxing bc I am making so many notes that you are sharing. Great work. I can’t wait to get started.
Somewhere in the comments is the written pattern. Some lovely person took the time to write it all out for me YEARS ago!
😊Love this ❤
I love the pattern! No long chain to start! Genius!
Everyone has days like that. Some yarns split more than others.
Very nice.
Great pattern. I need to search how to make a yarn pompon now.
Best way to make a fast chain edge.
I wish your stitches were more focused and closer to the camera.
Me too!!! As I stated on other comments, I had just gotten a new camera and was learning the set up. I'll make another video that's closer.
Love this!!! Thankyou so much x
That was much easier than chaining a, large row and working back.
I didn't have any trouble seeing where you put your stitches at lol! I found this extremely interesting! I had never heard of this before, though I have seen the hooks and wondered about it Thank you very much! Very well done!
Love the idea you have a complete blanket went the length is where you want it
Yes, you can make it wider or narrow, long or short. It works great for scarves too!
Thanks beautiful pattern. I’m a beginner and 75 years young. Please tell me what type of yarn and needle size. Your help and prompt response will be dearly appreciated. God bless.😊
Hello. I used an acrylic baby yarn and a size G or H hook. Congrats on starting this great hobby!! ❤️
How much yarn is needed , and of what weight ? Also, the crocheting is too far away from the camera to see correctly.
Hello. I am not exactly sure how much yarn because the amount would be specific to your project size. I used acrylic baby yarn (I think it was Bernat brand) and I believe it took 2 skeins, maybe part of a 3rd skein. Hope that helps.
@@cutiegirlcrochet9461, agreed, the yardage varies by project type. But it would be ultra-helpful if you could provide yardage approximations based on size ranges (crib, stroller, small bed, twin bed). This pattern is beautiful, and I'd like to adapt it to multiple sizes !
Hi Corrine just wandering where you can buy metal Tunisian cro-hooks. I live in Canada and they are hard to find. Thanks
Hello. I bought mine at a regular craft store. I am not sure if you have Michaels or Joanns or Hobby Lobby but that's where I got mine. I found this on Amazon and that's what I have. a.co/d/bHgUV5x
You can find them online from Amazon and others
Hi I love this pattern but I’m knew to crocheting and it’s very hard for me to follow along. Is there any way you can make another video but more slowed down for beginners and showed where exactly to put the hook into? I’ve tried making this 3 times now and have to pull it apart each time because it just doesn’t look like yours. I would appreciate it tremendously.
I will try. I was learning a new camera set up and didn't do very well.
I enjoyed your work and wish I could crochet as quickly as you do. I don't sell items either. I either donate or gift almost everything I make.
❤❤❤❤❤
Great tutorial. Might I suggest on future tutorials you use a different color of yarn? Something easier to see the stitches ?
I will most likely make a followup video to this one. I will absolutely use a different color! I was just using up scraps.
@@cutiegirlcrochet9461 … do t re do this one … I was just making a suggestion … I don’t have a RUclips channel Tube. Handel, so I don’t know HOW … but I KN95 what’s easier to see on the videos.
I love this stitch! Thank you!❤
It turns out very pretty. But I'm confused on the starting of the row. Something doesn't click. It's just one double crochet at every row when y I u start?
The beginning row or the second row? The beginning row is Chain 4 then DC in the 1st chain and repeat until you get the width you want. The second row starts with a Chain 3, 1 DC, Chain 2, the 1 sc in the 1st DC from the previous row. I hope that makes sense.
Why does it have to be so small. I didnt bother with this tutorial .
I'm sorry. The answer to your question is that my sweet husband had just bought me a new camera and I was getting used to it and didn't zoom in enough. Many have let me know and I am thankful to know. I am sorry.
What's the name of this pattern, please? Maybe there's another video that shows closer up. I think it's a very pretty blanket and I want to learn, but I can't see what's going on in the second row. Thank you for the video and I appreciate your time and respect your work, but I'm learning crochet from RUclips videos and I need to be able to see what's going on.
Hi. The pattern has no name! On the second row, you simply do 2DC, CH2, 2DC in the DC space from the previous row. There's a space. You'll see it once the first row is done and you go back the other direction. Yeah...I had just gotten a new camera and was trying to figure it out. Sorry about not seeing very well. 😞 Hope this helps you.
I don't understand where the 2nd row stitches actually go... I'd so like to makemthis blanket...!

Thank you so much, I have some beautiful varigated yarn to make a baby blanket for my second great granddaughter on the way. It's a beautiful pattern and amazing so grateful for your clear instructions. May God bless you for😮 sharing your talent.
Ohhh...variegated yarn...is my total downfall! I am completely addicted to it!!
Fantastic ... love this. Thank you so much for sharing ❤
You're welcome. What color will you do?
@@cutiegirlcrochet9461 Since I just became a Great Grandma to a beautiful little girl, probably pink 😊
How many segments did you use for the blanket shown?
Thanks so much for sharing, My 1st.blanket came out great, but the starter edge is curling up,so my 2nd blanket I did 4ch,2dc,and it's a fuller cluster and not curling up.😊this is my new favorite pattern thanks again
Ohhh...great!! I will try that too! Sounds like a great improvise!
I love this!! I appreciate your speed and your skill! I also appreciate your explaining the pattern out. I’m not a beginner, but love a good RUclips tutorial and this is just my speed! 👍🏼 Looks really great!!!
I'm addicted to this blanket. Like I said, I have never worked with that yarn before and it made such a nice throw blanket! What colors will you do?
Do you have a diagram of these stitches to work from? I'm confused about where to put some of the stitches. It's me, not you! I'm an advanced beginner but I'm finding this a challenge. I'm happy to pay for the written pattern if that is available. Thank you!
Unfortunately, I am not a good pattern writer. 😞 But, on the second row, you simply do 2DC, CH2, 2DC in the DC space from the previous row. There's a space. You'll see it once the first row is done and you go back the other direction. Yeah...I had just gotten a new camera and was trying to figure it out. Sorry about not seeing very well. 😞 Hope this helps you.
It's so cute. Thank you.
You're welcome! Makes a great adult afghan too!
Way too far away from the camera to see where you are putting your stitches at.
She does 4 chains and goes back into the first chain and does a double crochet.. Hope this helps, it's just repeated until the length you want ❤

You know yo7 CAN zoom in right ?
I agree ,but you can pull the screen out to where it suits you.
I’ll tell ya though, it’s way easier to blow up this video to see WHILE listening to these instructions than this pattern by someone else that popped up after this one. Not to mention i like the way this lady builds onto the chain as she makes it. Would like to see more of such
I'm making my blanket now I love it
I love the two tone effect of cro hook crochet, especially with a solid and variegated.
Very interesting and delightful beginning. Will start this soon. I, too, donate all my baby blankets to charity. Over 100 of my blankets are currently in Ukraine. I love to crochet and would do it all day if I didn't have housework!!! Thanks for the education on a different foundation.
Is there a certain organization that sends things to Ukraine?
@@cutiegirlcrochet9461 No organization that I know of. I have friends that travel there and take the baby blankets I crochet.
I use empty peanut butter containers
Oh! Yep! That works too!
I had that same pattern, but really gently lost it. I've done a couple baby blankets with it. However, I remember the pattern being 2 dc, 3 ch. 1sc. I like your way better because you can see the pattern better. Maybs it's just that I am using yarn with color swatches throughout (can't remember brand, but color is 'circus' - white yarn with what feels like paint splashes of red, yellow, blue and green). My next blanket will be the 1dc, 2ch, 1sc pattern. Either way, it is fast and easy, and I love it.Thanks for the video.
The only reason I knew it was 2dc, ch 2, 1 sc was from an afghan I still have from the late 80's. I didn't have the pattern but I could see the pattern in the afghan.
My eyes are not that good so it’s very difficult to see where you’re putting the stitch the camera doesn’t show it very well and if you do make another video that would be wonderful❤❤❤❤❤
I am sorry about that. What area can't you see where I am putting the stitch and maybe I can explain it to you. Is it the beginning row or the rows after that?
I love this beautiful stitch, especially the no border makes it nice❤
I have made scarves, hats, ear warmers, adult size afghans with this stitch. It is so versatile!
Your first row is Genius! A variation of this pattern has been my go-to pattern for years but then I always had to add a border to the bottom of the blanket but it never looked like 22:46 the sides and top. Can’t wait to try this. Thank you for sharing.
I am happy that you like it! It's my fave!
I love this! I have made several baby blankets with a similar pattern and the starting row was ugly and required a border. Your pattern is genius. Thank you.
You are welcome. ANYTHING to not have to add a border!! Haha!!
Great tutorial. I have made this blanket before too. Always turns out nice. You are right that there doesn’t seem to be many variations of stitches / patterns for the cro hook. Thanks for sharing ❤
I have always liked how the sides look like a different color...but that you can see the contrasting color through the rows. I must have made 6 blankets the year I was taught!! HAHA
Great pattern! ❤
Thanks! I am glad that you like it. SUPER easy!!
